This is good, but I have mixed feelings about it. I am not a fan of flashbacks, and this story relies heavily on them. Outside of that this is a really good story. The villain is so good. The suspense is perfectly woven throughout the story and the ending is wow. Can't wait for the next one.

This book is the 9th book in the Nikki Hunt series. This one was a fast paced one. I think you can read this as a standalone , as the author refreshes everyone about previous situations and characters. I could not put this book down.

Nikki Hunt's past comes back to haunt her in this thrilling story. Some years back a savage killer spared her life and disappeared. When no more killings occur law enforcement presumes him to be dead but nine years on has he returned. Nikki thinks so but no one will take her claims seriously so she decides to go it alone and track him down herself.
I really felt Nikki's frustration when she can't convince her colleagues that the most recent murders have been carried out by the killer who escaped from her years ago. The tension in the story as she risks her life had me breathless with anticipation throughout the story. This all led up to a heartstopping climax that left me reeling. This book is one in a series but can quite easily be read as a standalone.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

STOLEN MOTHERS is the ninth book in the Nikki Hunt series, a gripping crime thriller set in Stillwater, Minnesota by best-selling author Stacy Green.

The books in the Nikki Hunt Series include:
1. The Girls in the Snow (2020)
2. One Perfect Grave (2021)
3. Lost Angels (2021)
4. The Girl in the Ground (2021)
5. The Trapped Ones (2022)
6. Her Frozen Heart (2022)
7. Her Last Tear (2023)
8. Bone Lake (2023)
9. Stolen Mothers (2024)

This is my review of Stolen Mothers.

Nikki heads the BAU unit based out of St. Paul Minnesota. Her team consists of Crime Scene Analyst Courtney Hart and partner Agent Liam Wilson. They work closely with Sheriff Kent Miller. She has a new boss, Henry Garcia.

Back in 2014 in rural Minnesota, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is investigating a cabin that a suspect is using, but the suspect is gone. When she enters the cabin and enters the bedroom, what she views is terrible. She rushes out of the cabin and sees someone running among the trees and chases him. As she is chasing him up a cliff, she loses her footing and falls. Nikki had the chance to capture a killer, but being newly pregnant she lets him go & he lets her live.

Now, in 2024, is he back? Or was he found dead in 2014? Nikki doesn’t think so after a woman is found murdered and has the same MO/signature. It’s a race against time as another woman has gone missing.

Nikki and Liam head out to a murder scene, in the quiet community of Mulberry Creek, Nikki is shocked to see a certain type of flower being held by the victim, a new mother called Kiania Watson who has lost her life. She holds a rare flower in her bound hands. The mark of a serial killer she’s met before. This is the pink flower, that only grows at the cabin, that she was given when she came face to face with a killer when she was pregnant with her daughter. He said he’d be back for her. It had to be him!

But Nikki finds two similar murders in other states, with flowers left in their hands when they died.

All the victims were mothers to newborn babies.

A dark, twisty and heart-racing thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, reading it in one sitting. I'm loving this series, and recommend it highly.

Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for my digital copy.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the chance to read Stolen mothers by Stacy Green. This is the 9th book in the Nikki Hunt series and I can't believe how great this series has been. Nikki arrives at the crime scene and is shocked to discover the victim is a new mother, and indications point to a killer that Nikki encountered in the past who spared her life while she was pregnant. Even though she was told he was killed, she finds evidence that the killer is alive and killing new mothers. As previously stated Nikki Hunt is a favourite character of mine. She is a strong, fearless kick-ass FBI agent. She has grown tremendously throughout the series. Each book is fast-paced, thrilling and shocking. Stolen mothers can be read alone, but I recommend reading the series!

I get so excited every time I see a new Nikki Hunt book from Stacy Green. I love this series and this book did not disappoint. It was fast paced, exciting, and a fun read. I recommend this series to anyone who likes strong female leads, fast paced mystery, and anyone who likes the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. 5 stars!

Stolen Mothers is book 9 in the Nikki Hunt series.

In this installment Nikki is asked by local authorities to help out with a case. As she begins to investigate, she realizes that the case could be connected to one she was involved in ten years ago.

I love this series and can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed catching up with the personal lives of all the active characters.

This case is personal to Nikki and many others. Some tough subject matter, but tastefully done.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

Stolen Mothers by Stacy Green is the ninth book in the excellent FBI Agent Nikki Hunt series. This has been a series that has been a 5 star read from the very first book called "The Girls in the Snow" This was a book that was dark, full of twists and turns throughout that will keep you on the edge of your seat, reading it in one sitting.....I loved it. Superb read from start to finish.

I highly recommend this series........One of the best series out there to read.

I am looking forward to Stacy's next instalment of FBI Agent Nikki Hunt.

This was such a great mystery/thriller! I could not stop reading because of how intriguing it is. I was completely engulfed in trying to figure out who the killer was, to the point that I was becoming a bit impatient to find out. I do have to admit that the killer’s motivation did not convince me but other than that this was such a great story. The flash back were clear to understand, which was helpful in not feeling lost.

I would recommend for everyone looking for their next thriller. It will have you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this e-ARC.

Agent Nikki Hunt Book 9.

I absolutely love this series and this book was no different. I flew through it in 2 sittings as I didn't want to put it down. Great book.

Children run through the streets in their Halloween costumes, giggling happily, not noticing the blood on the house is real. A baby girl is tucked up asleep in her room. Her mother’s body lies motionless in the front yard, pink petals on the ground beside her…

Arriving in the quiet community of Mulberry Creek, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is shocked that amongst the chaos of costumes and fake, silver spider webs, a new mother called Kiania Watson has lost her life. A blooming rare flower placed carefully in her cold, bound hands. Nikki’s legs go weak: it’s the mark of a serial killer she’s met before.

Nine years ago, Nikki fell in pursuit of a masked man who’d killed a young girl at a cabin in rural Minnesota. Seeing her cradling the bump of her pregnant belly, he’d spared her life. She was told he’d died in a shoot-out days later. But the pink flower only grows at that cabin: it’s a message to Nikki.

Nikki’s team are quick to suspect Kiania’s abusive husband. But Nikki finds two further, similar murders in other states. Flowers were left in their palms when they died. Nikki’s heart breaks when she realizes all the victims were mothers to newborn babies.

Digging desperately into old case files, Nikki finds blood on a rock she secured nine years ago, which has never been tested. But not before receiving a desperate call that another woman has just been taken. This twisted killer is playing a deadly game, and Nikki must risk her own life if she has any chance of returning this mother to her child alive…

This series is addictive. It’s not my favourite series, but one I always enjoy reading. I liked that it was a case from Agent Hunt’s past. One of my favourite shows was Cold Case. The egos of the characters are still a bit obnoxious at times, but they are still likeable. I felt like this one in the series particularly was a good balance between the personal lives of the detectives and the case. This might be because of the nature of the case in this book though. This series has kept me a fan for nine books and I expect nothing less for book 10

In the latest Nikki Hunt investigation, she is called to help out at a local crime scene. When she discovers that it may be linked to a crime that happened over ten years ago. As she looks further into the case, they are indeed connected and she had let the killer go in order to save her pregnancy. Now, the killer is going after postpartum women. Can she stop him before he strikes again?

This is a great addition to this series! They keep getting better and more intense. I look forward to more investigations with Nikki Hunt!

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

Nikki is battling her past and coping with personal history. We get a little backstory into an old case when Nikki finds out lots of balls were dropped solving the case. She’s a strong and intelligent woman working with others of like minded talent. She’s a wonderful role model for women and the writing is superb. It’s not necessary to read the other books to enjoy this one, they do not connect.

I am such a fan of this series. Every book is great and I know when I pick up the next one it is not going to let me down.

This one is personal for Nikki and seems to relate to a killer that pursued her and let her go while she was pregnant with her daughter. Fast forward to today when there are ties to him at a current murder. Did he survive all those years ago and is he back and hunting her?

Before I sing its praises, I should mention there are some sensitive issues at the heart of this one. It deals with motherhood, abuse against women and miscarriages. Not all easy topics, but handled with sensitivity.

The connection the case has with Nikki really ups the ante and makes me that much more invested in the case, The author does such a good job of making me feel that connection and care all the more. Especially when it eventually involves more than just her.

There was growth with Nikki and her boss. I didn't really like him at first but their relationship is growing on me.

Seriously if you are a crime lover and haven't read this series, you need to pick it up. The series is quite character driven so while it can be read on its own, I recommend reading it in order to get the backstory of Nikki and the bunch.
