This was so sweet and I loved that chaotic adventure.
This satisfied the Halloween itch I have and will definitely be a hit to kids who were waiting for Halloween.

This book is so endearing, and one of the best children's books I have picked up. Shaffer's story reminded me of the great children's books I grew up with, both in style and content. It has a unique art style with a very classic feel, a hint of spookiness, and a general cozy nostalgia. (Shout out to the author! He self-illustrated, and it is wonderful!) The stylization is somewhat modern, reminiscent of Dav Pilkey's works and other books that are wildly popular at my niece and nephews' schools.

While the story is simple, lending well to new readers, the spooky atmosphere and iconic imagery will have the children in my life reaching for this for years to come. The cryptid guide at the end is a great read for Reader Level 2 and 3. I can't wait to share this with my niece and nephews, and I really enjoyed checking this out! Many thanks to Andrew Shaffer, the publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.

i LOVE Shaffer’s mothman children’s stories!! I grew up so terrified of Cryptids and if these books were around when I was little i’d probably have been better off.

This installation Mothman is ready for Halloween! Until the rain ruins the day so he asks his cryptid friends for help and … it makes the situation worse when the town is covered in pumpkin. However, the kids love it because they get out of school and can play.

My young niece is going to LOVE this one

Cute cryptid tale perfect for grades 4-6 when kids love this kind of stuff! Loved the small nuggets written into each page.

I know this book would be popular for our middle graders in the library! Consider a graphic novel for these characters, they’d eat up the author’s humour!

Thanks, NetGalley for an early read of this book!

Have little fans of Mothman? This fun read-aloud hits the mark--easy and short, funny, just enough twist that you didn't quite see coming, and all of our favorite cryptids make an appearance with additional information on the others for curious young minds.

Mothman is back for another holiday adventure! It's Halloween time, and Mothman is excited for all the children to come to his pumpkin patch to get their own pumpkins for carving. But when disaster strikes, he'll have to wrangle up his cryptid friends to save Halloween.
Andrew Shaffer has depicted the most adorable Mothman, my personal favorite cryptid. Though not quite a hilarious as Mothman's previous Christmas excursion, the drawings and happenings of the little red-eyed guy were still fun and enjoyable for "kids" of all ages.

I love Andrew Shaffer's version of Mothman and all of his little cryptid friends. I would happily read and recommend many more Mothman books!

Every page made me giggle. I love this story!! As soon as I finished, I went to the author's website and pre-ordered a copy of this book, along with Mothman's Merry Cryptid Christmas and The Clowns in the Woods. I can't wait for my son to get a little older so he can enjoy these silly, slightly spooky, but totally adorable stories with me.

This Halloween is turning out to be The Official Worstest Halloween Ever (in the whole entire universe)®️ but the rain has canceled the school trip to Mothman's pumpkin farm and the kids don't get a change to trick or treat. So Mothman rounds up a bunch of his cryptid friends to surprise all the children in his town -- if they can't go to the farm, the farm will come to them.

My toddler and I read this last night. She enjoyed the story and seeing all of the Mothman's friends. While the Mothman can be scary, this book was written in a way where the mothman is nice and wants to make Halloween nice for his town. We enjoyed this book and thought it was a good read for a small child. However, I think it would be more of a library borrow versus something that I would buy to keep on our shelf. Overall 4 stars and we would definitely check out Mothman's other adventures!

This is SO cute! Mothman's Happy Cryptid Halloween follows Mothman on his during his favorite holiday, Halloween. Unfortunately, it rains and Mothman and his cryptid pals have to band together to save Halloween.

I loved everything about this one. It is delightful and unexpected. I loved how cuddly the cryptids are depicted and the humor that is in the book. The illustrations are perfect!

Thanks to NetGalley, Andrew Shaffer, and 8th Circle for the chance to read and review!

This book is proof that things can get so much more fun when they go wrong! With the best intentions, Mothman and his friends cause chaos at Halloween,. And that's why it was the best Halloween ever! Loved the artwork and the story. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

Super cute book, loved the art work! Brings such a great Halloween spirit and how to create a solution when problems out of our control arise.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was amazing how the author decided to take a popular urban legend and make it creepy-cute, along with a few other urban legends that are Mothman's friends. This was especially great because the author decided to add cute blurbs about the monsters ("cryptids") mentioned in the book. This will make kids excited to learn about these legends, because the author made it super fun and not scary at all. On top of that, the story was adorable and definitely is a tale about making lemonade out of lemons. So fun! Lastly, the illustrations were adorable and detailed, putting a cherry on top of this gem of a book.
Bravo!

Mothman's Happy Cryptid Halloween is the BESTEST Halloween book in the entire universe!!! Seriously, I love everything about this book - the story, the illustrations, the cryptid guide at the end. I love that the cryptid friends all tried so hard to save Halloween and managed to do so in a unique way through teamwork. I'm definitely buying a copy for myself when it hits the shelves, this was such a fun book.

This book was adorable! My daughter is a big fan of Mothman’s Merry Christmas and I knew she would love this book since Halloween is her favorite holiday.

I loved the adorable chaos of this book and how it shows kids that even with the best intentions things can go horribly and hilariously wrong.

The illustrations were amazing. So colorful and engaging. The cryptid guide in the back as a nice touch as well. We can’t wait for Mothman’s next holiday adventure.

Super adorable! Mothman is one of my favorite cryptids and Andrew Shaffer is one of my favorite authors. So I knew this was going to be a perfect match. This is great for kids of all ages. It's a super fun and quick read, perfect for Halloween! The illustrations are bright, fun, eye-catching, and full of fun little details. I love the idea of a snow day but with pumpkin guts, even with the smell. I also loved the kid version of explaining what other cryptids appeared in this book. Just a lot of fun! I had a great little read with my morning coffee before hitting a day full of adult errands.

The cutest kids' book I have ever seen. I will pick this up upon release for the kiddos in my life.

The other cryptids coming together are so adorable and the illustrations are bright and unique. All hail moth man.

So cute and a fun story for the folk lore of Point Pleasant!

I go through Point Pleasant, WV many times a year as I am from a small town in WV. We often stop and go get our pics with the statue and sometimes visit the museum. I love how Mothman saves the day (again!) in this cute children's book when it rains on Halloween.

The illustrations are cute and make Mothman seem less scary.

Thank you NetGalley, Andrew Shaffer, and 8th Circle Publishing for allowing me to review.

Review to come closer to the release day on blog/other places.

Remember Mothman's Merry Cryptid Christmas (<a href="https://twirlingbookprincess.com/2023/11/review-for-mothmans-merry-cryptid-christmas/">see my review here</a>), well be prepared for a new book this year! This time Mothman is going to save Halloween! And I am in! I was so HYPED to see this book up on Netgalley, I really enjoyed the first book and I definitely need more~

It is a tad early for Halloween, but it has recently been Summerween (and yes, I did rewatch that episode AGAIN). So in the end it is perfect I guess, haha. In this book Mothman is looking forward A LOT to Halloween (and who can blame him it is such a wonderful holiday and I am happy it is becoming more and more of a thing here), I mean the dude even has a special outfit (it's a doughnut which made me laugh), but what happens when it just keeps on raining and raining and raining and raining, and did I mention raining? I loved those pages, yes, they were also sad, but I also liked how they were done. I absolutely LOVED that Mothman made a plan and I was curious what it was and I found myself rooting and squealing (because some of my favs came by in their big big outfits) and I was curious how it would go. Well, be prepared to laugh your butt off. Oh, Mothman. Well, at least he had the best intentions... but the execution... well you will just have to read! I was a tad worried how this would go, but in the end? I wish I was there. I am not a pumpkin fan, but I would love to be part of this one so badly! I was just so happy with this one and it is definitely perfect for Halloween (and Summerween).

I loved that we got a cryptid guide at the end along with some recommendation (of which I definitely need more).

The art was quite fun!

And OMG, imagine my freaking delight to see that Mothman is coming back... for VALENTINE'S DAY! I need need NEED this book! ASAP. Bring it to me. NOW.

I would recommend this one to everyone, cryptid lovers x Halloween lovers UNITE!
