It’s Halloween in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, (the ONLY home of Mothman, by God!) and here, sweet Mothman owns an organic produce farm, because, of course he does! But, oh no! It’s RAINING on Halloween! Can Mothman and his friends save the holiday?

Cute as can be, of course! Highly recommended.

I read this with my 5 year old who is a bit Mothman mad (thanks to my Mothman madness!) He gave it 4 thumbs up (the highest praise from him). He's allowed to pick 3 bedtime stories each night but he made me read this three times instead :)

The illustrations are beautiful and the story is funny and engaging. He also really enjoyed the little cryptid fact page at the back. Will definitely be buying this one and can't wait for more Mothman adventures!

This was adorable! My daughter has recently become obsessed with all things cryptid, especially Mothman and Bigfoot, and this was the perfect Halloween story for her! The illustrations are fantastic and the story was cute. Will definitely be purchasing a physical copy for her on release day.

This is such a cute children's book, and I loved it as much as the Christmas Mothman one! A little Halloween pumpkin party (accidentally) hosted by Mothman was a cute little surprise, and the jokes throughout were cute and fun. I also really loved the inclusion of other cryptids in this one.

Thank you 8th Circle for providing me this free e-ARC!

This was a slightly different red than I am used to reading to my class. I can see certain children enjoying it while others not so much. On the plus side, the illustrations are very bright and eye catching. A book to share on Halloween.

This book is so endearing, and one of the best children's books I have picked up. Shaffer's story reminded me of the great children's books I grew up with, both in style and content. It has a unique art style with a very classic feel, a hint of spookiness, and a general cozy nostalgia. (Shout out to the author! He self-illustrated, and it is wonderful!) The stylization is somewhat modern, reminiscent of Dav Pilkey's works and other books that are wildly popular at my niece and nephews' schools.

While the story is simple, lending well to new readers, the spooky atmosphere and iconic imagery will have the children in my life reaching for this for years to come. The cryptid guide at the end is a great read for Reader Level 2 and 3. I can't wait to share this with my niece and nephews, and I really enjoyed checking this out! Many thanks to Andrew Shaffer, the publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.

i LOVE Shaffer’s mothman children’s stories!! I grew up so terrified of Cryptids and if these books were around when I was little i’d probably have been better off.

This installation Mothman is ready for Halloween! Until the rain ruins the day so he asks his cryptid friends for help and … it makes the situation worse when the town is covered in pumpkin. However, the kids love it because they get out of school and can play.

My young niece is going to LOVE this one

Cute cryptid tale perfect for grades 4-6 when kids love this kind of stuff! Loved the small nuggets written into each page.

I know this book would be popular for our middle graders in the library! Consider a graphic novel for these characters, they’d eat up the author’s humour!

Thanks, NetGalley for an early read of this book!

Have little fans of Mothman? This fun read-aloud hits the mark--easy and short, funny, just enough twist that you didn't quite see coming, and all of our favorite cryptids make an appearance with additional information on the others for curious young minds.

Mothman is back for another holiday adventure! It's Halloween time, and Mothman is excited for all the children to come to his pumpkin patch to get their own pumpkins for carving. But when disaster strikes, he'll have to wrangle up his cryptid friends to save Halloween.
Andrew Shaffer has depicted the most adorable Mothman, my personal favorite cryptid. Though not quite a hilarious as Mothman's previous Christmas excursion, the drawings and happenings of the little red-eyed guy were still fun and enjoyable for "kids" of all ages.
