Delightfully illustrated rhyming text shares the sweet story of Jesus, and who He is for children. A great introduction to the Savior for young children.

What a beautiful book for children! This simple story shows Jesus' life and his love for all creation. The illustrations, featuring beautiful animals and creatures, will draw little readers into the story. I would definitely recommend this story to parents with little ones!

This is a short 7 page book suitable for 1-2 years old. The illustrations are cute with different animals, each page consist of a short question asking who this person is across the various life stages of Jesus, infant, boy, and man. Then answer the question who is Jesus with short basic answer.

I think the pictures are interesting for a baby to look at. I think it can be used for an introduction to Jesus for parents. It is a board book for a baby so, I don't think more than what is written is necessarily required. It is just a short and sweet introduction.

This children's book is definitely aimed at very, very young kids. It's extremely short, contains barely any text (so parents will have to fill in the gaps and bring the story to life). Honestly, it feels a bit lazy as a concept. Some parents might not have the tools to add to the reading experience to make it more relevant.

I love the graphics and thoughtful questions in this book, it provides a wonderful opportunity to explain the essence of Jesus Christ to children in a detailed and engaging manner. I appreciate the depiction of Jesus as dark-skinned, which makes the content more relatable and inclusive for my African children. This representation matters, as it helps them see themselves in the story and builds a stronger connection to their faith. The book's ability to spark meaningful conversations and promote diversity makes it a valuable tool for teaching children about Jesus and his teachings.

I received a copy of this eBook from netGalley for a honest review.

A little too short and sweet. I feel like there could be so much more to this board book, but it's a good start. I did love that Jesus was shown as a black man.

I finished this book thinking "Is that it?". I thought I'm missing a page of the book or something. So I read it again. For the second time it felt that something is wrong with the book. Then it hit me that this is a book for toddlers. I got used to reading this because my last book with this series is very epic tackling the Apostle's creed. So in a brief and simple book, our little ones are introduced to Jesus through moments of his earthly life including events that are foundational to the Christian faith. Simple and short words that are meant not to overwhelm small kids. My only disappointment is are artwork by Natasha. It seems her redition of Jesus and the animals is kinda off. Nevertheless the book is good. I just expect that it was that too short.

I loved the illustrations and simplicity of this book. I thought it was biblical and easy for kids to understand. Because it's so simple and basic, I'm not sure this is one I would reach for on our shelf, but I do think that it would a fun read for a baby to flip through on their own. It would make an excellent fabric book!

short, sweet, and to the point! the illistrations were great and did not take away from the message of the book.

This book is illustrated with simple text. Jesus should be dark skinned but he us too dark to make out his features except the huge white eyes and glowing teeth.
This is a board book so it’s intended for the youngest listeners. It starts with the cutest baby then just a few pages later he’s hanging on the cross. The last two pages show Jesus with a bunch of animals under the angel’s wings. I don’t see who the audience is for this too brief book. I think I’ll skip this one.

A very simple introduction to who Jesus is for very small children with beautiful illustrations. Introducing Jesus as the one who created everything, the one who came to save us and that he is our King. A beautiful little book!

This is adorable. The rhyme makes it memorable but the meaning really comes across through the lovely pictures. Seeing Jesus surrounded by animals, loving and being loved by them, speaks a powerful message. And even more so to the tiny audience it's directed at, I think the message will come right across. Great job!

Lovely and simple. Loved the trough line, from baby Jesus to today. Also, Black Jesus is always appreciated. Read it to the toddler class at church and they very much approved.

Love Love Love the illustrations within this book! I especially love the non European illustration of Jesus. It is colorful, fun, and bright!
Thank you Netgally and Lexham Press for the arc!

While board books certainly rely on brevity and the images in this Fat Cat book are charming, Who Is Our King? does not seem to do appropriate work for children. Simply put, the idea of a king - in our fictional royalty-infused world - is a challenging one that requires nuance in our religious settings. I wouldn't recommend this as an introduction to Jesus as Lord for children young enough for this book; there are simply better religious board books for small children.

Thank you NetGalley! This was a cute, but short book about who God is. Perfect for littles to read. Loved the illustrations, very beautiful

This book is illustrated with a cute take but not for people who have second commandment convictions. Honestly, the book is very simple with one question on each spread; the answer being Jesus every time. Many people will appreciate Jesus not being a blue-eyed white man and others will be upset that he's depicted so dark. The crucifixion images will upset some for small kids, however, there's no account of elephants and other animals being there so it is defintely hard to see what aspects are factual and what are cartoonish.

I received this dARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my review.

I actually love this book and if I saw it in store I'd pick it up!

I think it's a cute little introduction to Jesus and honestly I love that he's drawn more Biblically accurate (or more accurate that the typical "white messiah")

It's cute and it put a smile to my face and I can't wait to read it to my little one!

Thank you Netgalley for this book.
