I knew very little of Joan of Arc's spirituality before reading this book. I've read modern commentary on her but this is the first time I've read first hand accounts. I loved the mix of the historical accounts with daily prayer. While this is meant to be a 30 day personal prayer , I think it would also be great as a group study.

I don't think there was a time in my life when I didn't know who Joan of Arc was, so when I had the opportunity to review "Born for This" I was excited. Joan of Arc didn't write anything during her life, nor was she known for her philosophical religiosity, so I was genuinely curious to see what insight this book would have to offer.

I was blown away by this book. I don't want to belittle it by saying it was simple, but it takes simple stories and incidents and transforms them into spiritual lessons. I have read all the stories and excerpts in this book before, but I have never heard them applied to so many religious meditations. I also appreciated how each lesson wasn't heavy-handed but gave so much room for personal reflection and meditation.

This isn't a book that you read once and forget about. This is something that I know I will return to again and again.

I received a free copy of, Born to Do This, by Joan of Arc, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Joan of Arc is in a class by herself, Joan of Arc, was only 19 when she died, but we can learn so much from her life. This book is a 30 day devotional, using Joan of Arc's own words. I really cherished this book, and the writing of Joan of Arc.
