Excellent read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this title in exchange for my feedback.
Requested this because of the Ottolenghi endorsement and also thinking about Imad’s Kitchen which was recipes plus a story. This book was more story plus a few recipes. Unfortunately I didn’t find the recipes particularly compelling and nor was the story.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Ida is a London Restaurant. The sort of restaurant you'd love to have at the end of your street. Friendly and welcoming with great food. This beautifully written book is the story of how Ida came to be. It's the story of the trials and tribulations of opening and running a restaurant, with tales of family life and for the author, never quite being Italian enough. Each chapter features recipes mentioned in that section - all very moreish. At the end of the book, I dearly wanted to meet Simonetta and chat further and of course eat at the restaurant.
