Sandy is a go to author for me so I jumped at the chance to be on the blog tour.
Sandy’s books go down like a nice large glass of blush rose - extremely well!
I am a sucker for romance and a romcom. So this was perfect for me.
Being single and having to date in mid thirties can be hardwork but imagine if it’s your boss who tries to set you up via a matchmaker.
This was a really fun enjoyable read and the dating element had me laughing. You never know who you are gonna go on a date with or when you will meet the one….
Greta was an editor at a women’s magazine and this added cool vibes to the book. I also loved the coffee shop setting. I want to visit there! ☕️
The friendship element really drew me in too. The female characters were great and provided friendship goals, which I love reading about in a book.
It wouldn’t be a true Sandy book if there wasn’t a travel destination mentioned. Porto is on my list and the way Sandy describes it is making me want to book a flight straight away.
This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a stand alone too. I would read them all though as they are fab.
Thank you for letting me be part of the blog tour.
This is the third book in the "Ever After Agency" series and is told from a dual POV of Poppy, the agency's matchmaker and Greta, the main character in the story who Poppy is working with to find a match.
I enjoyed this book more than the second one in the series but I would rather see the POV of the male lover interest than Poppy's. I don't feel like her POV really adds anything to the storyline.
Greta is an editor at a fashion magazine and has just launched a new online "vertical" and she accidentally let slip to her boss that she hasn't dated or been in a relationship with anyone in a very long time. Even though she's happy with her life, she would like to meet someone and maybe start a family as she's 35 now and doesn't want to leave things too much longer.
Her boss contacts the Ever After Agency and Poppy is assigned the case but without Greta's knowledge - they agree that Poppy will be doing an advice column while Greta will be doing a series about dating and who better to set her up with dates than Poppy! It takes all of about 5 mins for Greta to realise what is going on but she doesn't want to confront her boss about it and agrees to go on the dates that Poppy sets up for her.
To get out of the office, Greta has been spending time working at a new coffee shop around the corner and there she meets Ewan. They strike up a friendship but it's clear that Ewan wants more with Greta but seems to be too afraid to tell her so when he finds out she went on a date with a bunch of guys, he's not particularly happy to start with.
As is usual with these stories - communication would have saved them all a lot of grief! But then we wouldn't have a story to start with. I did think for someone who is content being single, when she was given the file for her "perfect match" she became very obsessed with him and was convinced that this is the man she was going to fall in love with. Overall, a really good story and I highly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this!
Book 3 in the Ever After Agency series might be my favorite! This is a loose friends-to-lovers story as we follow Greta, a magazine editor lost on love and Ewan, a new coffee shop owner who is her friend but so clearly wants more. Poppy and the Ever After agency step in to help Greta find love through a series of dating fiascos set against a magazine feature, and we see alot of our previous characters pop up for bits of reprieve. The dual POV switches between Poppy and Greta and as usual, is witty and full of banter.
I thought this was SO cute. Its got some great dialogue, the meet-cute between Greta/Ewan is adorable, and their romance has a great timeline: it never once feels forced or badly paced. I love watching the interworkings of the Ever After Agency and I thought the 'business' side was done really well (in my opinion better than Book 2). I also really liked the magazine: showing women in leading careers is one of Sandy Barker's strengths, and I think here it really shined.
Is this the deepest book ever? No, but I like it because of that. It was a sweet and enjoyable, very PG-13 read.
really enjoyed Sandy’s previous books, The Christmas Swap, The Christmas Trip and Shout Out to my Ex.
The One That I Want was a book that I was looking forward to. I liked the idea of the women’s magazine, and the start of the novel drew me in.However, I quickly got irritated with Greta and how she repeated the origin of her names. I didn’t identify with her or the other characters and they and the plot felt flat and underdeveloped.
I wanted more about her personal life and dates and less about her work issues. I didn’t feel like the magazine itself was visual or iconic enough. Everything could have been more fun and it wasn’t romantic enough.
Sadly, The One That I Want was a DNF for me. I hope I enjoy Sandy's next book more.
Thanks to Sandy Barker and Boldwood Books for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

📚BOOK REVIEW 📚
The One that I Want - Sandy Barker
I absolutely adore the Ever After Agency Series. It's such fun reading and the perfect escapism.
I enjoyed Match Me If You Can and Shout Out to my Ex, but I think The One that I want might just be my favourite. Greta and Euan are so cute!
Greta's boss hires Poppy from the Ever After dating agency to help as a matchmaker for Greta. She loves her colleague and wants her to find love. Under the guise of writing articles for a work assignment so as not raise suspicion, Greta finds herself going on a lot of dates to write a column for the magazine.
Each date is more disastrous than the last but makes some very entertaining reading for the reader. Whilst all this is going on she relies on her beloved coffee where she meets Euan. They strike up a great friendship and she doesn't see the the signs that maybe they could be more. But she enjoys his company and looks forward to meeting him. I loved Euan!
There is drama and hilarious antics galore in this story. And throughout it all she has her best friend Tiggy on hand with one liners and providing her with advice. It's a great character driven story. This series is so much fun. I love it. I would recommend reading them in order as the characters do pop up again especially the loveable Aussie, Poppy.
Thank you @netgalley and @theboldbookclub
For an early advanced copy. You can now get this book on KU as well as the rest of the series.

I have loved the other books in this series by the wonderful Sandy Barker and this was no different. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a laugh out loud romance with strong female protagonists. I love the will they won’t they trope and this pitches it perfectly to create a wonderful story to escape into. I can guarantee most readers will relate to Greta’s ‘romance struggles’ and will love following along with her while she finds out if her true love exists. I am eagerly awaiting a new book in this series and if you read them, I promise you will be too.

•I loved jumping back in with the Ever After Agency.
•It was so fun to follow along on Greta’s dates, they were hilarious!
•I love that there was a bit of mystery in this book as well.
•No spoilers, but there is a well placed plot twist that I did not expect AT ALL.

The One That I Want was kindly provided as an ARC by NetGalley and Boldwood Books. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book!
It was so much fun to step back into the Ever After Agency as they work to find Greta her perfect match. I loved Greta as a character, it was fun to hear about her work and her dates as the story develops.
I always love sequels that cover adjacent characters in a story, and this one hits that mark perfectly!
No spoilers, but there is also a perfect executed plot twist that I DID not see coming at all. It was so well done!
If you’re looking for a fun rom com, check this book out!
This sounded like a good story to me but unfortunately it failed to deliver.
I found it quite boring and found the switching of POV between Greta and Poppy quite jarring and an unusual way to tell a story, especially in first person.
I couldn't take to any of the characters which meant I had little interest in the book itself. Ended up skim reading until the end.
This book is such a heartwarming rom-com !
I thought the main characters were super lovable, and the chemistry between them was just great. It’s fun and lighthearted, the kind of story that just makes you smile.
Greta, the FMC, is really relatable—I especially liked that she works in a women's magazine. I loved that about the story because I’m all about powerful women !
The MMC is a total sweetheart, and their relationship felt so good to read about.
The side characters are also well written; I really enjoyed reading about them, too. The new characters in this book makes the series even better, with strong female characters and great friendships.
This is the third book in The Ever After Agency series, and honestly, it’s just as good as the first two (Match Me If You Can and Shout Out To My Ex). You can totally read it as a standalone, but if you like this kind of story, I highly recommend reading the entire series. It’s just so much better because you get to see Poppy again, and who doesn’t love Poppy?
Overall, this is a really fun rom-com with an intriguing media setting, themes of honesty and self-confidence, and plenty of positivity. I’m giving this 4.5 stars and would recommend the series as a whole !
Thank you NetGalley Boldwood Books and Sandy Barker for the ARC of The One That I Want.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of The One That I Want by Sandy Barker,
This book is the first book of the Ever After Agency series but it won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this heartwarming rom com, I thought the MCs were very lovable. I loved that the romance was based on a friendship. The story was full of scheming and miscommunication which made it a very fun and light read. I also loved the supporting characters, especially Poppy!
this BOOK is the one that i want from sandy barker!!!! 3.5 stars for a series that continues to get more nuanced and vulnerable as it continues. I absolutely loved the concept for this book + always appreciate a "he falls first". So wishing this series continues, it's so much fun to revisit and full of British-isms that bring me joy!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for me to review!
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and lovable. The pacing was perfect and left you wanting to read more. I can't wait to read more by this author!
I enjoyed this third book in the series, but it wasn't the best one in the series.
Once again it was a story of Poppy (from the first books) going undercover and lots of lies and cover stories and attempted set-ups and dating drama, cringeworthy dates and romance.
The characters were likeable and there were some funny moments. It's a light and fun story and good to escape regular life with.
Really adorable, one of a kind, romance. I absolutely loved this plot, almost as much as i loved the mmc, Ewan <3. The plot was full of scheming and secrets and lots of funny miscommunications. I really enjoyed it. I also really like that even with a whole matchmaking process, sometimes you just meet the love of your life in a coffee shop. I definitely recommend!!
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review

This my friends is the third book in the terrific rom-coms dating series called The Ever After Agency and it was just as good as the two first books (Match Me If You Can and Shout Out To My Ex).
The One that I Want is a great and kinda quick read especially for me since I enjoyed it already from the first page and the title. Oh my that title is just amazing and is having me singing the song from Grease every time I was thinking of it or read it.
We still get to follow Poppy, match maker, and her life (thank God) and we get to know new characters which has been delight to get to know.
The writing has been really good and there is a red line following until the book was done.
The One that I Want has had me feeling all kinds of emotions but mostly happy which I did enjoyed.
If you are a rom-com lover then this is your sign to read this book and if you haven't read the first two then please do that first so you get the whole picture (plus they are really great).
Sandy I can't wait to see what will happen next and I just want you to know I'm a huge fan of this Series if you didn't already knew that 😍.
I love this series, with its nods to romcoms in general and the humour that comes from both the events and the characters themselves. Greta is a lovely central character with a deep reserve of independence and a stubborn streak where it comes to her work. However, when we meet her, she is beginning to question some of her decisions and wonder if there could possibly be more to life than her career. Once given a writing assignment, which is a cover for a quest to find her romance, Greta soon twigs the real reason behind her latest column. Thus follows a series of disastrous dates. She takes cover from the office in a local coffee shop- a decision which will have long lasting effects.
As ever, the Ever After Agency sets about engineering the perfect circumstances for Greta to meet her match and as she goes along, she learns quite a bit about what she wants. In between the humour, there are some genuinely romantic moments. This is an endearing story which melds lively characters with events to make you smile.
In short: a friends to lovers romance
The One That I Want, is the third book in the Forever After Dating Agency Series By Sandy Barker. In this book we meet Greda who has just started her own magazine under the umbrella of the magazine company she works for and couldn’t be happier… Or could she? It seems her boss Angelee after hearing grida make a comment about her love life thinks she could. Since the dating agency use the magazine to get a previous couple together she implores them to help with Greda. The thing I love best about this series is that we get to see what’s happening with poppy and Tristan my favorite couple so far. I really liked the meat cute in the coffee shop and how they authentically became friends but I think I am so over watching all these work in London women who drink every night too much and it’s almost like the same character just a different book… I DK they say books hit us differently at different times and maybe this just wasn’t my time for this book. I was so excited to read it but once I started I still enjoyed it but was kind of a down because it almost seemed with a few changes the same old story. The best friend with the quirky name the over drinking ATC as I said it could just be me because these books are really funny in the main character isn’t going around sleeping with everyone she meets to try and find Mr. right because she wasn’t even looking for him or was she? I did like the way it ended and especially the one she ended up with but not as much as I loved the first and second book in the series.#NetGalley, #BoldwoodBooks, #SandyBarker, #TheForeverAfterAgency, #TheOneThatIWant,
“The one that I want” by Sandy Barker is a delightful romantic comedy that combines heartfelt moments with an irresistible charm. The story is about a career orientated woman that wants to find love. Her boss is determined to help her by hiring a matchmaking agency and that leads to her going on multiple dates. But finding the one was not what she expected.
Sandy Barker's narrative is infused with a vibrant energy that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. Her writing is warm and accessible, making it easy to connect with the protagonist's joys and struggles. The characters in “The one that I want” are well-crafted and relatable. The supporting characters, including the quirky and diverse array of dates, add depth and humor to the story.
The story is paced well, with a good mix of light-hearted moments and deeper, introspective scenes.
At times I felt like we were given too much of Poppy’s story with too many details. I also would’ve liked seeing more of Ewan, to know more about him.
Whether you’re looking for a light-hearted escape or a story that explores the intricacies of love and self-discovery, this book is the one.
Thank you netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book early.
Matchmaking, magazine publishing, coffee and dating disasters.
There was so much to love about this story.
I enjoyed the main characters Greta and Ewan, plus Poppy, but the side characters are a joy too, from the work colleagues, the German mum. to the best friend Tiggy.
Lots happened that I didnt expect, and I turned the last page with a very satisfied, if slighly emotional, sigh.
This story continues in the Ever After Agency world, but you don't have to have read the others in the series to understand what is going on. I might even make you go back and read the others.
If you are looking for a delightful happy ever after, this book is for you.
BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'The One That I Want' by Sandy Barker.
Love, LOVE, LOVED this absolutely gorgeous page turner!! An absolute must read!!!
OMG!!! I absolutely LOVED this gorgeous page turner and I cannot WAIT for the next book in this series to come out along with getting stuck in to all of Sandy's previous books!! It is just as gorgeous as the previous books in this amazing series and the rest of the books to come are just guaranteed to be stunning!! I absolutely adored the unique storyline which is hard to come by when it comes to romance books as there are so many out there but Sandy has created an absolutely gorgeous storyline which I cannot wait to continue in the next book in this series!!!! Sandy's stunning evocative writing skills really does bring the storyline, emotions and the characters to life. I absolutely adored being swept away into this fantastic feel good book and was so absorbed that on the rare moments I looked up it took me a while to realise I was in Wales at home and not in the book itself next to Greta and Poppy!! The storyline is stunning and is ram packed with friendship, romance, fun, humour and emotions and is an absolutely stunning escapism romantic read!!! This is one of those books that are very easy to read and perfect for any reading situations whether you are laying on a beach or curled up in front of a fire. It is an absolutely ideal read for anyone who is looking for a gorgeous and relaxing read that will have you hooked from beginning to end. I absolutely LOVED the realism of this storyline which made it so easy to picture everything that was going on which had been helped by Sandy's fantastic evocative writing skills.

Well done Sandy on yet another absolutely stunning and perfect addition to an absolutely stunning series!!!
Although this is the third book in the series I would have had absolutely no problems reading it without the first book. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.
The characters were all an eclectic mix and each one of them were realistic and strong. I was completely invested in them all. It also makes them more realistic, believable and made me feel even more for them than I normally would. I absolutely loved meeting Poppy again who I first met in 'Match Me If You Can' and have met several times in the other books in this fantastic series. She is a friendly, strong, likeable woman and I loved catching up with her and finding out what she has been up to since I last seen her. I also loved our other main protagonist Greta who is the one using the agency this time and I was rooting for her throughout. There were just so many amazing characters that I loved getting to know that I could write about them all day but I don't want to bore you so I'll start to wrap it up here. Sandy's fantastic evocative writing skills ensures each of the characters come to life in front of your eyes as you turn the pages. Each of the characters are memorable and unique in their own ways and they are a group that I wont be forgetting any time soon! I cannot wait to meet them all again and I'm hoping they will (almost) all be in the next book in this series!!!
Pick up this book and get lost in this absolutely gorgeous page turner! This has got to be one the most stunning book I have read this year 💜!!!
Congratulations Sandy on yet another absolutely stunning read that I just could not put down!!!
Overall an unputdownable, gorgeous, STUNNING page turning book filled with holidays, romance, fun, laughter, friendship and so much more!! A perfectly relaxing and stunning unique read!!!!
