Great, informative read - perfect for teenagers starting to find their way with money but I have to confess that well into adulthood I picked up so tricks and facts too!
The writing style was engaging - simply using facts and clear and relatable examples for each chapter. I liked the 'homework' (action points) section for each chapter too for further work on how to put it into action.
A really good book, I just couldn't (via this format) see any pictures etc or the layout which I'm sure will have added to the experience but one I would definitely recommend.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is a great book that I’m afraid to say taught me a thing or two about money management such as cashback and negotiating. The book is broken down in a way that's easy to digest and while staying professional and mature enough not to feel like it’s talking down to the audience which is important, since it’s written for teens and they’re more likely to check out if they feel they’re being talked down to. I liked the sketches as they helped break up the text a little more and also liked the action points at the end of each chapter to help me put some of the newer things into practice.
A jam-packed and accessible guide to managing your money for young people, and especially teenagers about to enter the world of work or higher education. There are relevant, examples and explanations interspersed among clear, relatable writing. would definitely recommend for 15+ readers.
Aimed for ages 11+, How to Handle Money teaches about most things money to young people/teens.
My child is not a teen, however, I discussed and read out loud passages from this book to them (teen in a couple of years) as they struggle with the concept of money at times, and they found the parts that I shared useful.
The majority of the book is indeed for older children. Adults can benefit a lot from this book as well. We all need reminders or sometimes, those with conditions that make them more impulsive, such books/insights can be useful.
This is a well-presented book with practical information, tips, facts and does a great job of explaining budgeting and investment plans. It does not shy away from discussing borrowing and risks, and does so in a suitable way.
The design is engaging, pretty and the prose is accessible.
I will revisit this book when my child is a bit older.
An excellent guide to the important aspects of handling money, such as budgeting. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book.
