We loved this book! My son is 15 months and working on his first words, and he loved this book. This is perfect for reading to littles who aren’t ready for a full sit-down story, but are interested in books. The illustrations were adorable and it is a great read.

This is a super cute book to encourage babies and toddlers to talk about things going on around them. I have a 2 year old and he loves kitties so this was interesting for him. The pictures were fun and the content was relevant for a baby or toddler. I think it was great that there isn't an overwhelming amount of background detail in the pictures as well. I appreciate that there's a parent guide and an early speech sounds infographic at the beginning of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the Advance Reader Copy of this August 27th 2024 release date children's board book.

This book is written by a Speech Therapist who opens the book with simple tips to help parents teach their children sounds and language. I am very interested in early childhood books because my twins were born 10-weeks prematurely, and I was advised to speak to them constantly, narrating my actions and the world around us, in order to develop language skills. I'm so thankful for that advice, as my kids ended up with late, but strong receptive and expressive language skills that I tie back to my constant verbal interactions with them.

Besides being educational, this book is charming and easy to narrate as a parent, highlighting actions, sounds, words, or whatever works for your child. Definitely recommend! 5-stars.

Perfect for teaching babies their first words! The images are great to engage babies and help them notice what things look like and assist in them recognizes everyday objects. The parent guide for teaching at the beginning will definitely be so helpful to new parents. It had comprehensive and easy-to-do steps for parents to follow, and I think that this book will be a fun tool for parents to use in teaching their kids new words and basic terms.

Really good book for little ones who are just starting to read. My daughter loved the pictures and she was able to expand on the story herself from looking at them.

This was a cute little book of first sounds including an adorable little Kitty. The illustrations are sweet. There are repeated words to encourage your little one with their speech.

I intended to read this to my 4 year old, he is starting school in September. But the book is aimed at younger children and babies to help with speech - not reading - my mistake.

All in all a sweet little book I’m sure will help younger children with speech formation.

I find that the early sounds and description on how to promote early communication was helpful at the begin of the book. As a new mum, it was good to know what to expect and look out for.
This is a great book for open interpretation from baby/parent so I can see this being regularly read and the story/conversation changing each time.

Let's Go, Kitty!
by Holly Rosensweig

I received a digital copy of this picture book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I read this once by myself and once with my youngest niece who is 3 and obsessed with kitties.

As an experienced mom of 2 and aunt of many I appreciate the value of the opening informational guide about speech sounds and ideas for expanding on the book.

This makes the book especially good as a gift for new parents or young parents still figuring out how to parent. In my real life job part of what I do is assessing children with developmental delays. Children in the range of 2-2.5 may have few words/language but it’s not always because of an underlying issue sometimes it’s because parents and caregivers have not understood how important it is to talk to and with small children all the time to help them learn and grow. So providing specific examples of how and when and why are valuable.

This is the type of book that while the words on the page are few it’s easy to expand upon with the images and action to have a conversation with a child about what is happening what could happen and why/how.

This would make an excellent baby shower gift.

5/5

This was a cute little book. It is perfect for families with little children, and baby/toddler programs at the library. It's easy for the child to follow along and learn to read the words on their own. Really liked the illustrations.

I absolutely loved this book aimed for babies and pre-verbal toddlers. The illustrations on each page are engaging for the child and give the reader an opportunity to not only demonstrate language, but actions and cause and effect.

I appreciate the time and attention that went into crafting this book and the tips from the author at the beginning were very helpful!

A great baby book for new parents!

"Let's go Kitty" is a cute little picture book for babies and toddlers in the language acquisition phase. The illustrations are cute and have soft colors. They are also fairly minimal, with just enough elements to be interesting but not overwhelming.

The small amount of text may be a bit intimidating for parents like me, who tend to lack inspiration when reading to their babies. However, there is an "instructions" page at the beginning, which explains how to read interactively to your child in a way that promotes language acquisition. I found it really helpful and the concept actually works really well with less text, which leaves more room for parent-child interactions.

"Let's Go, Kitty!" is a simple book that is written in an intentional way to encourage language skills and first words in babies and toddlers. I love the idea of this book and having some background in childhood development can see how this book would be really beneficial. Babies can benefit from being read all kinds of books, but this one has repetition, age appropriate speech sounds, and familiar objects to promote and develop language skills. Highly recommend and I look forward to getting a copy to read to my toddler!

This is a great beginner book, we have been creating a focus at the library for our very youngest patrons. And really truly look forward to adding it to that collection. The illustrations are perfect and it's simple enough that our 0-2 year olds can get it all on their own
