The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well, she’s done it again. I absolutely devoured this lovely story about a grumpy female Christmas tree farm owner and her attempt at starting a new life by buying a Christmas Tree farm. Kira is a rich, spoiled girl attempting to make a life of her own for a change, but she doesn’t expect Bennett and his dogs to win her over.
This is hallmark movie cozy and I absolutely loved it!
Thank you @netgalley for the chance to pre-read this story. This is perfect for the holiday reading season!
I can't get enough of Dream Harbour! Laurie Gilmore delivered again with Kira and Bennett's story, this one full of festive magic, big feelings, and cute dogs. I enjoyed seeing these two together, getting to know Kira and see her thrive on her own as well as how her personality bounced off Bennett's. They worked well together, and brought all those warm fuzzy feelings you want to find in the festive season. As a newbie to Dream Harbour, it was fun to see Kira slowly coming out of her shell (or her hermithood, really) as she made friends and took part in town events. While Bennett was already a good fit, embraced into the fold of Jeannie's friends despite the temporary nature of his visit. This cinnamon roll boy had a dirty side too so watch out for that spice! It was lovely to see our favourite characters in this Christmas read and can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.
Laurie Gilmore gives us yet another amazingly cosy and cute seasonal read with The Christmas Tree Farm.
This one might be my favourite! I’m still unsure as i did really enjoy The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore. I don’t know, it’s hard to choose!
I do have to say though that I loved this! It was cute and lighthearted and christmassy which was exactly what i hoped it would be! Dream Harbor was yet again a fantastically funny little town and i loved how much we got to see the other characters interacting with our main characters.
The writing was good and easy to follow and the characters were likeable which is very important for me in order to enjoy a story. I loved Kira and how much she worked to become a better person.
This was my favorite of the series, however it did have its flaws. I personally felt the characters were a tad underdeveloped. They both had so much potential but the first half of the story felt disjointed from the second half of the story. The concept was super cute and I am excited to see where the next story takes us.
I enjoyed this book. Bennet is in town to spend time with his sister Jeanie and he gets roped into the town drama to go look for a dead body at the local Christmas tree farm. The Christmas tree farm was recently purchased by Kira, a rich girl from Georgia, who is trying to prove she can be independent.
I loved the holiday vibes and I enjoyed the character development. While I love a spicy book I would have loved a little more story while they were stuck in the snow storm.
Overall had a good time and would recommend.
Well wasn’t this just the cutest festive treat!
I am a firm fan of all the Dreamers in Dream Harbour and Kira and Bennet were no exception.
I loved that the grumpy sunshine trope was in full force but in reverse, it was refreshing. I also loved that we got to see our favourites from the previous books but also that this was a complete standalone and can be a cozy Christmas read in itself.
Although, the book was really good I was left with a lot of questions because I felt the ending was very rushed. Like, did her sister come? What else was she actually doing to make money and survive whilst things were growing? Just the little things that were left unsaid that actually make a lot of sense in my mind.
Thank you so much for gifting me with a EARC and I can’t wait for the next instalment.
Another fantastic romance from Laurie Gilmore - I’ve read all of the books in this series in the space of a month! The characters are so wholesome yet have edge to them which makes their lives feel real! The added little bit of spice is the icing on the cake, or the angel on the Christmas tree 😉 I’ve been shouting about this to anyone that will listen!
Please will someone put me on a plane and let me live in Dream Harbour.
All the men there are dreamworthy and almost seem too good to be true, ,and the whole town just sounds so wonderful, as does the way they celebrate Christmas. It's a wonderful local community and really does help give the books a small town cosy vibe.
Although it's not pure cosiness, as there are some wonderfully spicy scenes (why is everyone saying spice not sex nowadays?), that I totally enjoyed.
I loved getting to know Kira and Ben, even if they do get off to a fairly rocky start. I liked how they could recognise their own undesirable personality traits and bad patterns they have gotten into in the past, and how they are trying to improve themselves.
There is something so enchanting and moreish about this series, I just can't get enough of these stories. I loved catching up with old friends from the previous books, and also seeing Kira start to come out of her shell was a joy to see.
And what better setting for a festive tale than a Christmas Tree Farm, and an old house that is freezing cold leading to a blanket fort in front of the fire as the main living space. It's just so cosy!
Please don't make me wait for the next book, I need my next Dream Harbour fix already!
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
The third installment from the dream Harbour series..
This was a super cute festive read & has all our favourite & loveable Dream Harbour characters in supporting roles!
Definitely a lovely one to start off the festive reading!
My favourite book of the series so far! This was so funny and I really enjoyed the dynamic between the two main characters. Cannot wait to read more from this author!
This was a sweet enjoyable festive read with a bit of spice thrown in for good measure! Initially I wasn’t keen on Kira but I eventually warmed to her, and Bennett was just lovely from the word go. A wholesome read with a strong female main character and lots of dogs!
The Dream Harbor series is simply dreamy!
Positives:
Got me immediately in the Christmas Spirit!
Heartwarming and festive
Quick and light-hearted read
The main female character is the grump (grinch)
Small town holiday vibe, Hallmark-y vibe
This is the second book I have read in the series. I will go back and read the 2nd in the series-The Cinnamon Roll Cafe. They are the perfect mix of sweet and spicy.
This was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season! So cozy and filled with joy want a perfect way to carry on the series. If you want to scream giggle and kick your feet this is the book for you!!!
Lovely feel good book. Loved the main character and all her flaws and how she integrated into her new life. Would recommend this book.
What I loved most about this book was how charming and festive it felt. The descriptions of the tree farm, the snow, and all the holiday activities made me feel like I was right there, sipping hot cocoa and enjoying the Christmas spirit. It was the perfect escape.
Lucy is such a relatable character. She’s trying to figure out her life and what truly makes her happy. Her journey felt real, and I found myself rooting for her to find love and success. The romance was sweet and heart-melting without feeling rushed or over-the-top.
Laurie Gilmore’s writing is simple and easy to read, but it’s full of warmth and charm. She captures the magic of the holiday season so well that it made me want to decorate a tree and bake cookies!
This book isn’t just about Christmas—it’s about family, second chances, and finding where you belong. It left me with a big smile on my face and a feeling of joy in my heart.
If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday story, The Christmas Tree Farm is a perfect pick. It’s light, sweet, and full of festive cheer. I can’t wait to read more books by Laurie Gilmore!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for an early copy of this book! Having read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe last year, and The Cinnamon Bun store this year, I was so looking forward to reading and jumping into The Christmas Tree Farm. I love all things Christmas, cozy, and romance and this book felt like it might be right up my alley!
Unfortunatley, I didn't connect with the story or characters like I would have hoped (especially having loved The Pumpkin Spice Cafe when I read it last year). This is not to say it's a bad book, by any means, but the story and characters were not ones that resonated with me.
Having read the cinnamon bun book store I just knew I was in for a treat with this book, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Think hallmark Christmas movie in a book.
Loved this read. I am obsessed with the characters and the town. This is one of my favorite series. I love that the character flaws are so raw and real.
Spicy but sweet!
Lots of lovely tropes going on in this book; fish out of water, small town, snowed in, grumpy/sunshine and it’s a lovely mix. It feels like I just read a Hallmark Christmas movie, albeit with some spicier moments. Grab a hot chocolate and curl up under a blanket with this book for a properly cosy winter afternoon.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series. Unexpectingly spicy. Amazingly cozy. For me this book was. 3.5 star read. It’s very much like a hallmark movie. Nothing amazing and life changing, but still entertaining and hits a spot.
This book follows Bennet and Kyra. Kyra is a grumpy rich girl who buys a Christmas tree farm. Bennet is the nice, dog lover.
