Some great tips in here, whether you're new to netgalley or an existing user. Especially like the reminder to update your profile every now and again to keep it fresh.

I’m so thankful for NetGalley for so many reasons. This is one of them. This guide is a great reference for reviewers, full of helpful tips for beginners or seasoned reviewers.

a super useful and handy toolkit. i took some time away from netgalley and this toolkit was ideal for helping refresh my memeory on how netgalley works and how to go about requesting and reviewing books

Part of thNetGalley Journal. There are several additions which have been added to make book reviews and journaling more interesting.

Great toolkit to start your reviewing journey with NetGalley. Everything you need to know is laid out in succinct bites with fun graphics. If you have any questions about reviewing advanced copies of books, this is the first thing you will need to read. Thank you NetGalley for providing!

Very informative and recommend to any new NetGalley people and companies. Should be must read for everyone using the site.

Thank you! Very helpful to have an easy to digest reference guide for when I want to refresh my profile or review tips and tricks

NetGalley is a marvelous digital space where authors can share advance reader copies of their books enabling reviewers to help promote and get the word out about new books. NetGalley has created a guide to help new (or seasoned) reviewers improve their performance.
For anyone new to the world of book reviewing (or to NetGalley specifically), I highly recommend requesting this toolkit. The first section offers a helpful orientation to all things pertaining to NetGalley and its website. This section serves as a tutorial for getting the most out of the website and for becoming familiar with its various sections and features.
The second section pertains to the nuts and bolts of writing reviews including general tips for writing, an explanation of DNF ("Did Not Finish"), an example of a review for reference, and some general helps on how best to use social media.
The third section gives more tips, tricks, and tools for taking your reviews to the next level. I appreciate how much NetGalley does in the way of support and education to help reviewers be the best they can be. I've been reviewing on NetGalley since 2017 and I learned a few things myself!
Disclaimer: I received a free digital copy of "NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit" for the purpose of review. No other compensation was received.

This concise toolkit is a must for new and seasoned reviewers alike. The information is easily accessible, and I have found myself coming back to it again and again. What I appreciate most about the kit overall is that it has enabled me to grow as both a reader and a reviewer.

This is a great guide to learn about how to navigate NetGalley and what type of profile you are (for example, I am a reviewer but there are 5 other profiles: the Book Trade Professional, Bookseller, Educator, Media/Journalist, and Librarian). I will definitely be reviewing how I present myself on my profile. Many thanks for taking the time to make this!

I've read several of the other free resources from We Are Bookish and NetGalley, but found certain tips and reminders in this Book Advocate Toolkit helpful!
Here are some of my takeaways from this guide:
- I loved the tip to set a recurring reminder to update my NetGalley profile every few months! Doing this ensures I won't forget to update my stats and it'll look fresh to potential publishers
- I learned that NetGalley has a dark mode setting - so cool!
- I didn't realize that the type of advance copy also influenced the "lingo" - DRCs (digital review copies), ARCs (advance reading copies), and ALCs (advance listening copies).
- As always, I'm striving for that 80% NetGalley badge!!!
- It's a good distinction that my book review audience on NetGalley is the publisher or author who approved me.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful free resource!

This document was very helpful in setting up my profile and learning more about NetGalley and all of its parts.

This is a super helpful tool for anyone who is just starting with NetGalley and has questions. Perfect for new users or returning users.

The NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit is an very helpful tool for any avid reader or reviewer. It’s packed with useful tips and tools designed to enhance your book reviewing experience. From providing clear guidelines on how to craft thoughtful reviews to offering templates for social media promotions, the toolkit makes navigating the platform easier and more efficient. I especially appreciate the tips on engaging with publishers and authors, as well as the advice on how to write compelling, honest reviews that resonate with other readers. Overall, it’s a well-organized, user-friendly guide that helps elevate your role as a book advocate!

This is a great tool! I advise anyone to check it out who is new to NetGalley or has general questions.

This set of information for understanding best practices for NetGalley and social media has been so helpful, especially since I am new to the game. I have turned to them a couple of times within the last month. I wish I had a hard copy to hold in my hand! Thank you so much for sharing these and taking the time to distribute them. I have even shared some of the handouts with patrons who are trying to strengthen their reading journey for the year.

This was an excellent toolkit! I found the book review section especially helpful. I learn through examples so the example included in that section was perfect for me. Really appreciate how cute the toolkit is too.

I found the sections on creating a professional profile and maintaining a high feedback ratio particularly informative. The step-by-step tips and practical examples make it easy to understand how to optimise your presence on the platform. The guidance on requesting books and managing your shelf was also a great refresher, even for someone who has been using NetGalley for a while.
The toolkit highlights important strategies, like keeping your feedback ratio above 80% and how to present yourself professionally to publishers. The inclusion of FAQs, as well as tips on connecting social media accounts and tracking progress, adds so much value to the overall experience.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to include advice on recovering from a bad feedback ratio. That topic would be incredibly helpful for both new and seasoned members. If they ever create an updated guide, I’d love to see it covered more thoroughly.
Overall, I highly recommend this toolkit to anyone looking to get the most out of NetGalley. It’s well-organised and insightful, and it even taught me new things that will enhance my book-reviewing journey. It's definitely worth the read!

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit was a thorough introduction to the nuts and bolts of becoming part of the NetGalley community. It's great that after reading the entire contents, you can navigate directly to a section by tapping on the page title. I particularly liked the "Feedback Ratio" and "Book Reviews" sections. It helps to be honest about the books requested. Knowing what publishers look for in their decisions also helps development.

I enjoyed using the NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit and found it very helpful. I recommend it for anyone using NetGalley.
