I joined NetGalley earlier this year (2025), so I’m still relatively new to reviewing. So far, I’ve reviewed 10 books, and I’ve noticed my reviews steadily improving. Still, aside from a few online articles, I was mostly winging it when it came to writing a quality review.
NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit is super helpful. It clearly explains how to strengthen your presence as a reviewer—from writing thoughtful reviews and keeping your profile up to date, to knowing when and how to DNF responsibly. I’ve already implemented some of the tips and tricks it lays out. This guide is a great resource, and I highly recommend it to anyone on NetGalley!

This toolkit gives great tips, tricks, and advice for NetGalley readers learning to navigate the website for the first time. As a new member, I found this book very helpful and easy to learn. Some of those book review tips were great and I made sure to write them down to remember later! The review example was also extremely helpful too!

Ok, this book is super helpful and I regret not reading it sooner! As a crash-course guide to book reviews, you’ll learn the ins and outs of writing a review and raising your feedback percentage, and you’ll also get a lot of useful tidbits on creating your own review voice and what appeals to followers. Not only that, but I expected page after page of a textbook like manual but nope! What you’ll get is quick and easy to follow instructions with colorful graphics that are clear and concise. This guide will only take you a few minutes to read, but you’ll gain a ton of valuable insight
