I found the sections on creating a professional profile and maintaining a high feedback ratio particularly informative. The step-by-step tips and practical examples make it easy to understand how to optimise your presence on the platform. The guidance on requesting books and managing your shelf was also a great refresher, even for someone who has been using NetGalley for a while.
The toolkit highlights important strategies, like keeping your feedback ratio above 80% and how to present yourself professionally to publishers. The inclusion of FAQs, as well as tips on connecting social media accounts and tracking progress, adds so much value to the overall experience.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to include advice on recovering from a bad feedback ratio. That topic would be incredibly helpful for both new and seasoned members. If they ever create an updated guide, I’d love to see it covered more thoroughly.
Overall, I highly recommend this toolkit to anyone looking to get the most out of NetGalley. It’s well-organised and insightful, and it even taught me new things that will enhance my book-reviewing journey. It's definitely worth the read!

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit was a thorough introduction to the nuts and bolts of becoming part of the NetGalley community. It's great that after reading the entire contents, you can navigate directly to a section by tapping on the page title. I particularly liked the "Feedback Ratio" and "Book Reviews" sections. It helps to be honest about the books requested. Knowing what publishers look for in their decisions also helps development.

I enjoyed using the NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit and found it very helpful. I recommend it for anyone using NetGalley.

Such a user friendly guide to the platform. I wish I had this when I first started out!
I love the formatting and how easy everything is to read. I will definitely be checking out their social media book at a later time.

From the very beginning, The NetGalley Team presents a thorough analysis of a resource designed to assist readers and advocates in promoting and reviewing books available on the NetGalley platforms.
What I love about the Toolkit is the Guidelines for reviews, stating the importance of being honest and providing relevant feedback. Others include Promotion strategies, Best practices, Resources and Tools and Community management. It encourages newbies and other members who are willing to improve on the platform. Using social media e.g. Instagram reaches a wider audience and is therefore advised.
The writing style is top-notch. A simple yet sophisticated language that is easy to understand. An instructional tone that provides readers and advocates with step-by-step guidance and actionable tips. Practical and visual elements like links and arrows to make sure you follow and not get lost. Make sure to foster positive relationships with the book community.
I do not find any critiques about the whole book. The publishing is also perfect. I therefore wholeheartedly rate the book 5 out of 5. The instructions are also easy to remember as they linger in the mind.
In conclusion, this book is a must-read for advocates who want to effectively share their love for reading and help new titles gain visibility. Thank you NetGalley Team for making the toolkit available via NetGalley. Why don't you grab a copy and make a difference?

Very helpful! It helped me understand what changes I can make to my NetGalley profile and my reviews to reflect who I am and what I offer as a reviewer.

It's been a while since I have updated any of my social media/blog site. We Are Bookish's "NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit" was a great reminder of what other avenues I could be using to help promote growth for my own site and the novels on my shelf.

This was the guide I needed starting out on NetGalley. I was thrilled to find an easy to use breakdown of dos and don'ts without having to scour the internet like I usually would starting out a new hobby. The guide is simple and I would recommend it as a starting place for anyone looking to join NetGalley.

This is a great introduction for new NetGalley users such as myself. It covers everything from the basics of navigating the site to more specific areas such as how to give good feedback and maintain a good standing as a member.
The layout is in a magazine style with small, easy-to-read snippets of text and lots of colour and illustration. It does mean you have to scan the page a fair amount to take everything in but keeps what could be a very dry user guide interesting and engaging.
Presenting these resources as NetGalley books themselves is a brilliant idea as it gives new users a chance to try out the mechanics of finding, requesting and reviewing a book in the exact same way as they would with a publisher. I would also recommend checking out the We Are Bookish site for more tips as well as tons of book recommendations!

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a wonderful guide to navigating Both the NetGalley site and the app. As a new reviewer, I found this very informative and enlightening. I had never written a review before and the tips and tricks are very helpful. I already incorporated them into my first review and look forward to revisiting and improving future reviews as well. The screenshots and visuals helped make the things talked about even clearer. I found the example review to be the most helpful aspect of the Toolkit as it took what was already mentioned in the toolkit and put it to use as reviewers are expected to do.
