A quick and easy guide on navigating Netgalley, how to write engaging reviews, and make your reviewer profile interesting to publishers (so you can get approved to read even more books!)

I recommend this short manual to everyone, both casual reviewers and professionals.

As always, incredibly helpful, simple to understand, yet impactful. The We Are Bookish guides and toolkits are quickly becoming go-to-reference materials for me when I'm in a funk, and this one is no different.

As part of their Book Advocate Resources, NetGalley has compiled a comprehensive yet concise guide to writing a well-rounded and effective book review. The guide is aimed at anyone who works to make a book successful. Referred to as Book Advocates, these include authors, editors, professional and lay reviewers, publishers, marketers, booksellers, and general readers.

I like all the step-by-step instructions because that is one of the ways that I learn best. While I realize that not everyone has physical difficulties, I do know that I am not the only disabled person who enjoys being a lay reviewer and a reader in general; therefore, I hope you will take the following suggestions as constructive criticism and consider implementing them in future editions of the guide.

The font is the perfect size for me, but because my Cerebral Palsy affects my vision, the present page format makes the guide difficult for me to read. Text overlaying graphics make the page seem disorganized and make my eyes skip over words and sentences.

Putting it on pages of soft pastels the way NetGalley has it is fine for me. Try using a slightly thicker font and move the text to the center of the pages rather than having it all over them or as a text overlay on the graphics - This will make it easier to read.

The graphics add a touch of whimsy to an otherwise serious topic; however, it might be better to mute their colors and have them serve as a border around the text - That way, they can still be used to brighten the pages without distracting from it.

This NetGalley guide is so helpful. I just realized I was doing some of the "don'ts" so now I can make my bio and reviews better as well I understand the website and the process much better. Thank you, NetGalley for making this guide so clear and easy to follow.

The toolkit has been updated since I originally read it. The updated version has so many gems! I definitely recommend that anyone interested in reviewing ARCs or released books read this. It's extremely helpful for anyone who doesn't know where to start or how to set up their profile.

A good toolkit, but I it could be more easier for the reader to get ideas. Some links didn't help me the way I wanted. That said, is very informative.

As a beginner book reviewer, it was helpful to have the ins and outs of NetGalley summarized in one place!

NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook contained very useful information for a rookie book reviewer such as myself. It gave me tips to consider for creating a social media prescence, writing a book review on social media, and even incorporating other types of media such as video and pictures. The tips were thorough and super easy to follow. I highly recommend this read for all those who are new to the world of book reviewing on social media.

Some of the fonts (like on the sticky notes) don't translate well when viewed as PDF in my browser and are hard to read
