This toolkit was very helpful to get me started on my NetGalley book advocacy journey. In addition to basic information like how to request and review books, I learned some next level tips like how to favorite publishers, see what the publisher requirements are and how to write effective reviews. I will be referring back to this toolkit in the future.

This toolkit was helpful in learning more about Netgalley and the best ways to use it. I was able to gain better information on what to include in my bio. I liked that there was examples.

Such a great tool to have. I haven't been using NetGalley for quite a while and found help in this book I didn't realise I needed! Thank you!

I wish all brands would put together an advocate toolkit for both loyalists and users. This workbook-style book provided me with the clarity I needed to refine my profile to better appeal to the book publishers I am targeting via NetGalley. However, the examples provided in this book are likely to work for most reviewing websites. It's that good! The biggest takeaway for me is finally letting go of the notion that I had to review every single book. Yes, "DNF'ing" a book for a completionist is not always fun, but it does an author a disservice to review a book when, early on, you are not that into it. Thank you so much to the We Are Bookish team for making that point clear to the bookish community.

Super helpful & great design! I normally just provide personal reviews to books that are just more opinion based so this was a good way to help me formulate the way I approach thinking about the books I read for reviews. Also the tips for the profile were great!

Not sure how to use NetGalley? This books is for you. For fans of guides such as, Mysteries of the Phillips Head: A Manual and Treadmill to Clothes Rack: A Transformation Guide, sections on how to write reviews, what to do if you DNF, and where to get the social media guide will no doubt come in handy.

After reading this, I updated my profile and feel more confident when writing reviews. Thank you for this helpful tool to use in this awesome community!

An extremely helpful guide to being a Book Advocate on NetGalley that gives tons of advice on how to successfully navigate NetGalley and utilize its many helpful features to support publishers and authors so that their books achieve the greatest reach that they possibly can.
I found several great tips and advice that I will immediately start using!
I would definitely reccommend this to any newbies to NetGalley looking to become the best Book Advocate that they can be!

A well thought out and helpful guide on how to set up and make a good NetGalley profile. This was also super helpful with tips and trix when it came to reviewing books and as someone who is looking to upgrade their review game this was great!
Thank you NetGalley for making this guide. I will definitely be looking back at it every so often!

As someone just newly starting out on Netgalley this was a really great introduction and guide on how everything’s works with many tips and tricks I previously didn’t know about. I really recommend having a read through this if you’re starting out or are just wanting a reminder or a few tips.

This is a really helpful introduction to the various screen menus for NetGalley. It provides information on how to set up your own profile to gain attraction from publishers whose books you request to read as well as how to give feedback after you have read. Also guidance on when you Did Not Finish (DNF) something and a decision tree as to whether you can give feedback on what was read in something you didn't get through. There is helpful information on how you can link these websites in NetGalley and how to download items to read on Kindle is also given. I like the idea that this is a 'living document' and that feedback and updates on the platform will be built in to future revised editions which I can return to in the future.
I am looking forward to reading and giving feedback on the books I add to my shelf and promoting the books through recommendations on StoryGraph and Goodreads particularly.

NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit provides a splashy, visually interesting guide to their website as well as the process of requesting & reviewing books with helpful links to other content on their website I might not have found otherwise.
This easily could have been a long text document - after all it’s aimed at readers! The graphics could have been cheesy or distracting, but it is clear this toolkit was designed with intention, breaking down information into concise areas with visual reminders that allow readers to process technical and instructive material quickly. I know I will certainly keep this around as a handy tool to come back to as I engage more with NetGalley and the book reviewing space.
Thanks so much NetGalley for putting this together!

Really great tips and tricks for improving your reviews and making sure that the author and publisher get the info they need, but also the readers. I can’t wait to use this as a reference.
