This handy guide was extremely helpful in helping figure out how best to use NetGalley, pick publishers and books I want to review and how to create a very constructive book review. Finding out what the orange pencil means beside a review was very cool! Also when I have a book that I can’t finish, the most appropriate way to review a did not finish book. I will be referencing this guide often! Thank you NetGalley and We Are Bookish for the opportunity to read this guide!

This toolkit has a lot of helpful information for both new and seasoned users of NetGalley. Topics are organized into three sections:
1. NetGalley 101 (setting up your profile, types of books, how to request books, etc.)
2. Writing reviews (how to write, how to DNF, etc.)
3. Other tips and tricks

I love how NetGalley just compiles detailed info in a document and give it out for free to help us readers promote reading. Like HELLO? How cool is that!?

This toolkit was very helpful! There were several tips that I did not know about beforehand such as how to withdraw a request. The review example was detailed and explained why to include certain things. I will definitely be referencing this toolkit in the future.

I joined Netgalley a while back and wasn't very successful in acquiring ARCs. While browsing the site I came across this toolkit.
This is a great resource for those looking to utilize Netgalley. There are many tips and useful tidbits of information. I am glad I found this and I think this will help me to be a better reviewer and gain access to more ARCs. I highly recommend this to anyone wishing to get started on Netgalley.

First of all, I love the term book advocate. It's so much fancier than reviewer, and I really am an advocate for books and reading. It's one of my favorite things to do, and I am of the school of thinking that you can never have enough books on hand. It's why I signed up for NetGalley!

Second of all, this is a fantastic resource for anyone who's been on NetGalley before or for someone who's just starting out. It explains how to use the site and gives important tips for how to approach the experience, such as avoiding the dreaded request spree. It's so tempting, but don't do it! It tells you how to craft your profile, how to write a good review, and so much more. I will definitely be using it as I continue my NetGalley journey, and I think everyone should do the same.

Finally, I appreciate that NetGalley is willing to be transparent with its users. It's nice to just have the information available at our fingertips and not feel like it's a secret. Download this guide to improve your NetGalley experience right now!

An excellent upgrade to the reviewers toolkit enabling us to do justice to the books we read. There’s enough here to make sure we know what is required of us.

Wow! I really enjoyed reading NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit. I was looking for tips on how to write book reviews without giving away too much, and this toolkit totally saved me. I learned a lot of valuable tips, thanks to this guide. My only regret is not reading it sooner, as I wasn't aware that NetGalley had such a helpful resource. Thank you so much, NetGalley, for always saving the day!

The Book Advocate Toolkit is a concise, direct resource for NetGalley newbies. I read the original Book Advocate Toolkit when I first joined, and though that was useful this feels like a marked upgrade. This version brings NetGalley users in from the very beginning, walking them through useful things to include in a profile and reminders that Read Now books can help get one started.

It very much feels as though someone at NetGalley has been taking note of common questions that crop up on various Internet forums (Goodreads, Reddit, etc.) and took pains to answer those questions here. They've also split out the social media part of things (looks like a specific social media toolkit might be coming in the future), which makes sense, as how to run a bookstagram account feels like a very different conversation than how to get your NetGalley account up and running.

This is a resource that serves a specific purpose, and it's doing it well. Would very much recommend to new NetGalley users.
