I like how it goes through step-by-step how you should set up your bio and it just gives you a bunch of details on what not to do and what to do.

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit quickly and concisely summarizes the must-know information to get started requesting and reviewing books through the NetGalley experience. It includes links for examples and further exploration, making this toolkit one that I will surely return to as I start my reviewer journey.
Having explored a few other links to getting-started articles throughout the NetGalley site, I had come across much of the information already. So my single criticism is that the book could be presented to new book advocates even sooner.

Comprehensive overview of what NetGalley is and how to use every feature, very useful! I like how it includes review tips, descriptions for every type of Netgalley user and how to review audiobooks. Example of a review is also useful and feasible reasons why you might have been denied are also nice.

Useful manual for beginning the NetGalley adventure, with beautiful graphic design. I'm grateful to read it as a new user and it contained some helpful tips how to get started.

This is a great resource. Thank you for putting together this toolkit! As a new bookstagram account this has helped me understand how to proceed and how to get noticed. In my first 30 days I am at 60 followers and I feel humbled and know this toolkit has helped.

This is a really effective guide. It sets out clear expectations for NetGalley users and outlines the best ways to achieve them. There's a lot of information on how to use the site and the Shelf app. Knowing how to use the Dashboard and how Publisher Approval Preferences work is really useful. There's also lots of great, simple-to-follow advice for writing reviews, which has definitely been really helpful for me. All-in-all, I'd say that this is a brilliant reference tool for those starting out.

As a new NetGalley user, this is a great tool. I just finished my first book and am working on writing the review. Reviewing ARCs and ALCs are different than a standard review, so understanding the nuances and what publishers are looking for is helpful.

This is a very illuminating guide to all NetGalley users. Very detailed and cleanly organised that the reader can make excellent use of it.

This guide was very helpful in helping me understand how to write critical reviews of books! Before Netgalley, I generally gave a one to two sentence review on Goodreads or Fable and that was it. I plan to publish more of my reviews and deep dives into books via my Substack, Tiktok, and Instagram - and I think the tips given in this book will help me create those reviews more successfully for each platform.

I'm a long-time NetGalley user. and found this guide to be a great refresher on writing and sharing reviews. New users of NetGalley will also benefit from the thorough walk-through the site and helpful tips to start requesting and reviewing.
