This book is full of tractors and farmyard fun! 2 books in one.
The first one has a barnyard dance feel to it. Good rhymes for a read aloud. The sounds and movements of the vehicles ends with a jig!
The second one is in a song like "5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". It was fun to see the different troubles they each got into and then the animals helped them at the end.
I think all kids would like this!
Two cute stories about tractors that rhyme and are very silly for toddlers. I think this would be great for tractor/vehicle loving two year olds. Some of the rhyming is very silly, but kids love that. The illustrations are fun although a little basic and could be used as learning tools.
The detailed artwork, the funny plot, and the rhymes make this book stand out! I recommend to young readers who love tractors!
I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story was very fun! I loved the end where all of them were fixed up and ready to go the next day. The illustrations are wonderful.
This was a cute little book (actually two in one!) but not my favorite story. I think little kids who love tractors would enjoy this, and that's the target ;)
This book was a lot of fun! It did have a bit of a similar read to good night Tractor series. Not a bag thing just felt a bit too similar maybe? We really enjoyed it and my 3 year olds daughter wanted to read it over and over. Graphics were beautiful.
I love meeting the Tractor Squad. I laughed with the first book about what tractors do when it snows. I especially liked the second story about 10 little tractors, that was like 10 little monkeys jumping on the bed. Instead a mouse calls the farmer and the farmer tells him to take him to the shed. I can’t wait to share this one at the neighbors farm and a little boy I know who loves tractors! This is sure to be a hit!!
Very, very, very cute. Perfect for any farm kid.
This starts off rhyming about what tractors do in the winter and end with a "No more Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" style song but about tractors. This is funny, entertaining, and my littles loved this.
The illustrations were vibrant and funny.
Thank you NetGalley, Heather D. Torres, and Marble Press for allowing my family to review.
The Tractor Squad by Heather Daw Torres and illustrated by Gary Laib is actually two cute books in one!
The pictures and colors are fun and colorful while the rhyming in both books are perfect for children. The 2nd story goes along to the song of "Ten Little Monkeys" but instead there are "Ten Little Tractors".
I read this at bedtime with my 7 year old and he really enjoyed them!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the Advanced Reading Copy!
The Tractor Squad is two books in one. Altogether it is an adorable book with such cute pictures. The colors are vibrant and cheery and the rhymes in the book are upbeat and likable. I love the way the tractors and the animals are personified. Being the mother of a boy that loves tractors this book would be a favorite in our household. The second story in the book would be good for teaching numbers to young children as it counts backwards from ten. Overall this would a great addition to ay elementary school library, daycare center, or home with young children.
This is a very cute story with adorable and eye-catching illustrations. This book would be perfect for all little children who like tractors or vehicles in general and for those who like things to do with farms.
A rather delightful wee book that could become a re-readable favourite for the littlest ones, with a double helping of rhyming tales about the tractor squad, a group of hard-working tractors on a farm. From working hard through winter before they play, to a countdown-style story which can help the littlest ones learn about numbers, author Heather Torres does a great job creating a fun book that should provoke plenty of smiles and giggles from toddlers being read to by adults or preschoolers and young schoolkids reading themselves. Colourful, fun illustrations by Gary Laib add to the atmosphere and should provide plenty of things for little kids to spot and enjoy on multiple (re)reads.
A great book for Kindergarten - Grade 2 students! Fun story, great rhymes and increduible illustrations with enough “white space” for processsing to occur when reading independently.
Would recommend this to colleagues who teach those grades or librarians!
Chug to the left, chug to the right! Scoop, scoop, scoop with force and might!
Love a kids book where the whole thing rhymes. I often find there’s usually a line or two where you get stopped in your reading tracks because a sentence or two didn’t rhyme. It seemed like the farmer really took advantage of that field mouse. He better be paying a decent wage to him/her. That’s all I’m saying.
I loved the first story. The illustrations were fun and the rhymes were easy to follow. Children will be excited to join in and laugh at the silly questions asked about what tractors might do in the winter. It was very cute. The Ten Busy Tractors story was also cute! The ways in which the tractors got into trouble were creative and again, the illustrations complemented the story and were done beautifully. I only wished I could find the right cadence to the rhymes since it mirrors the Ten Little Monkeys story.
The Tractor Squad includes 2 really fun stories with tractors at a farm yard for the youngest readers. I loved the design of the illustrations. Each tractor was personified in a super cute way.
I think the rhymes were super fun & there were lots of opportunities for kiddos to dance and move to the words on the page. Personally, I was less fond of the second story. I felt like the remake of Ten Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed didn't flow as well as the first story.
That being said, both stories will definitely delight tractor-loving kids! Thanks to NetGalley, Heather Torres, and Marble Press for the chance to read and review!
This book actually contains two separate stories about tractors. Both stories have fun rhymes and engaging illustrations. Kids will enjoy yelling out "No" along with the first story when it asks silly questions about what tractors do in the winter. The second story is a tractor take on the 10 little monkeys jumping on the bed rhyme. Vehicle loving kids will enjoy both of these stories.
Thanks to NetGalley and Marble Press for the arc of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This cute book features two stories about tractors that my little vehicle-loving-boys adored! The illustrations are absolutely adorable, and I loved the way that the book featured rhymes followed by a "NO!" and an explanation of what tractors would do during winter.
My daughter enjoyed this read and wanted to flip quickly through the pages. Also recognizing the reading queues, she repeatedly yelled “No” with the first story and all the questions posed with tractors. While the second’s story’s rhyme is a little awkward, both stories are very cute and the images are engaging to kids. Recommend for anyone whose children enjoy farm equipment
This book was adorable!! I just know that kids will love reading about the tractor squad. I thought it was really awesome how the illustrator made most of the pages very scenic and spread out. This made room for a lot of creative potential, and the illustrator made use of that by adding lots of details and color, which will no doubt interest kids.
As for the stories themselves, I thought they were simple but very cute. The rhyming actually made sense and both stories flowed really nicely. Due to the simplicity of these stories, I think that this book will be most beneficial for young, young kids to read (kindergarten-2nd grade). However, that's not a bad thing at all! This age group will absolutely adore these stories and will likely want to read about the tractor squad more than once.
Bravo!
