I'm sorry but the book did not really work for me. I DNF'ed it. I wasn’t able to connect with any of the many characters in the book and I found myself putting down the book a lot because it was never really catching my attention.
I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.
My takeaway from the first book was "I hope it gets better".
Dead Silent remains as the first book: I wasn't at all intrigued. There were hidden facets that I liked like hidden societies and the murder mystery but the pacing was slow and the dynamic was slow for a mystery.
A well-written and enjoyable book, I am glad I requested this title and will be more than happy to pass the title along to my fellow library purchasers.
An excellent sequel to Dead Jealous, Poppy and Michael are in Cambridge this time round and embroiled in murder yet again. This time it involves especially Poppy's father when students start dying in bizarre ways and he's the chief suspect because of his relationship with the dead students.
If anything I enjoyed this more than the first book which was a complete page-turner and thoroughly enjoyed the both development of the characters.
