“Pinned 4 Murder" the 13th instalment in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series by J.C. Eaton. I love this series, it always has me laughing at Streetman’s antics! When a dead body shows up in the pin return at Sun City West’s bowling alley, it’s only the beginning of a tumultuous league season for this retirement community . . .

I found myself engrossed in the story and reading it in almost one day. I love the characters which are well developed. There is plenty of humour and we can’t forget Streetman the chiweenie in the bowling alley. I laughed at the chaos he caused. The description of what was happening with Gloria and her scammer was all too real, and something that occurs way to often in today’s society.

The mystery is interesting, well plotted as well as full of twists and turns. Always an entertaining, fun read. This is one of my favourite series and I always buy in Paperback as I know I will read again.

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Kensington Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the thirteenth book in the Sophie Kimball series. Though I haven’t read others in the series, you can bet I’m going to be looking for them. The author had enough details that I didn’t feel left behind with jumping in. The characters are a hoot, especially Phee’s mother and her chaos-causing dog Streetman.

The story takes place in Glendale, AZ in one of the “senior” areas—Sun City West. The board of directors wants to update the activity center/bowling alley in order to attract a younger crowd, but the seniors want nothing to do with the upgrades. It’s their center. What follows are murders, sabotaged areas, and shenanigans, including cyber-scams with a good friend. Phee’s mother ropes her and her PI husband and his company into investigating what’s going on. But it’s never that simple.

This was a fun story - especially the scene with Streetman in the bowling alley. I laughed at the ensuing chaos. And the description of what was happening with Gloria and her scammer was all too real, and something that occurs much too often. Realistic characters and situations make for good reading.

Recommended.

This entry again finds Phee and her mom and gang trying to solve murders while enjoying life in Sun City West. Phee tries to avoid her mom and other senior citizens but she is drawn into the murders at the bowling alley as well as investigating a cyber crime based on lonely hearts. The story has characters that are full of hijinks that make you chuckle as you read. This one became a little slow for me at times, but will watch for the next entry in the series. Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC.

This is the 13th in this entertaining charming series. I have read the entire series and always enjoy returning to the seniors and our plucky protagnist Phee . This next in series features a developer attempting to upgrade their bowling alley for a younger crowd and the senior community is up in arms. Everyone is creating chaos around the development and Phee is in the middle of the seniors and the developer.
Phee has her hands full when a murder occurs and she is involved in the investigation. Add in a cyber scam done to one of the residents. All the characters here are humorous and fun to read. This is a enjoyable addtion to the series I recommend highly. The seniors are delightful and the sleuthing well crafted. I appreciate that the author writes of a senior community with respect and features seniors that are active and good friends to each other.

Thank you to the publisher, to Net Galley and to the author for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.

Pinned 4 Murder is Book 13 in the Sophie Kimball mystery series. I have read them all and they never disappoint! Phee's mom and friends are upset when a developer plans to completely overhaul the local bowling alley. Of course murder and mayhem soon follow. A man is found murdered in the bushes and shortly after one of the developers ends up dead in the ball return. When one of the seniors becomes the main suspect, Phee is once again drawn into another murder investigation. This time Phee is hired by her husbands detective agency to assist in the case. This was a fast paced cozy with lots of suspects, quirky side characters, and many laugh out loud moments; especially the antics of Streetman, her mothers tiny rambunctious dog! I look forward to reading the next book in this fun series.
~ PS: I loved the cover art! ~

Great book! I love reading about Phee and her adventures in Arizona. The action is nonstop and at times madcap. Phee gets dragged into these situations unwillingly by her mother and the book club ladies but I think she is starting to accept the inevitable. I was glad to see that Nate finally convinced her to officially to some investigating for the agency even if it was only a bit. She was involved in the mystery anyway. The only weak part for me was the ending when Phee ended up in a confrontation with the culprit. It was hard to believe. I love this series since my parents live in Sun City Grand and I go out there multiple times a year and all these places exist so it is especially real to me.

Pinned 4 Murder is the newest book in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series and it is a fun addition to the series. Sophie (Phee) Kimball Gregory works at a Private Investigation firm along with her husband Marshall. Phee's mother and friends are real characters and add a lot if humor. There is a murder at the bowling alley in the middle of a big bowling league championship. The senior citizens at Sun City West want Phee to clear their friend who is a suspect. A developer wants to update the bowling alley and the Seniors are not happy. Another Sun City West senior is involved in an online cyber scammer who preys on lonely women to steal their money. That is a good current topic and it was nicely done. Another fun boom in the series! Very enjoyable! #Pinned4Murder #SophieKimballMystery #BeyondThePage

When a company is hired to redo the bowling alley in Sun City West (SCW), tempers flare and bodies start dropping. While Phee is busy helping a friend with a problem with her own Mother in SCW, she’s drawn into both issues and is again, putting on her amateur sleuthing hat to appease her Mother and help her husband and boss. Can Phee help the team solve the case, or will she be left in the gutter without a clue?

I adore this husband and wife writing team. All of their books are so well written and bring you right into the story. Streetman and Harriet are a hoot, but Phee is totally relatable and I feel her anxiety at times. LOVE IT!

Fun cozy set in a retirement area
Ms. Eaton's characters are a delight. A young couple works together in an investigative agency, he's a P.I., she's the firm's accountant, but she has a knack for picking up on things....and an inside track to the town's gossip.
The colorful characters and intriguing situations make this a winner. Add some rambunctious pets for additional humor. I recommend for anyone who enjoys a good book.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse gratis and offer my opinion in the same.

Sophie "Phee" Kimball-Gregory works for an Arizona PI firm. She's not an investigator (although her mother Harriet thinks she is), but their bookkeeper, and is happy to be so. Until another murder occurs. And Harriet thinks there's a serial killer on the loose. Which is often. Too often...

A body is discovered in the bushes in Sun City West, where Harriet lives, and it turns out to be a flimflammer, who made money by scamming seniors by getting them to give up their homes and move into a 'retirement home' where they will have it easy for the rest of their lives. But they didn't. And now someone killed him. Was it one of the seniors? Or someone else who hated this man?

But there's more trouble brewing -- Phee is asked by a friend to look into her mother Gloria's activities online, because she thinks her mother is being catfished by someone. So Phee does what she can, even enlisting Rollo, their trusted hacker who loves digging on the dark web. Even if it costs the firm another expensive appliance for Rollo's latest diet.

This is important because the seniors' bowling league has Gloria, and she's a really good bowler, and they want her thinking about bowling, not some guy who's trying to get money out of her (even though he hasn't asked her yet). Is this the end of it? Not by a long shot. A developer wants to "update" the bowling alley to appeal to a younger crowd. In Sun City? Filled with seniors? Yes. But they want to fight back, any way they can. Unfortunately, there's another murder -- hence Harriet thinking a serial killer is after them all. (Here we go again!)

So now Phee and the detectives, who are on the case thanks to the local police hiring them for help, are in the middle of two murders, a catfisher, and the usual antics of Harriet's dog Streetman (A Chiweenie who has no morals and no training), and you have a mystery that keeps you on your toes...

This is the thirteenth book in the series and I have loved them all. Phee is more patient than I would be having to deal with the Sun City seniors, not to mention Nate and her husband Marshall teasing her about it. But we all know eventually all three will be involved before the end of the book. As will Streetman, who creates havoc just by being loose...and this time is no different, with an extremely humorous scene toward the end.

I don't want to say any more about the book as to give anything away that isn't hinted at in the blurb. All I can say is read the book. It's a great mystery, along with plenty of action and, of course, the antics of the seniors throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope that other readers do also. I look forward to the next in the series as well. Highly recommended.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley but this in no way influenced my review.

#Pinned4Murder #NetGalley is a great addition to this series and I really enjoyed reading it.
Phee is back and this time she has a lot going on. Sun City West is preparing for their bowling league tournament while Phee is trying to help her friend's mother who is being scammed online while she's trying to find out who's responsible for the death of a possible swindler.
This book is laugh out loud funny, especially when Streetman gets loose in the bowling alley.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Another laugh fest from the ChiWeenie (Streetman) and humans at the retirement community in Arizona.
The body count starts with a body in the bushes and later, a body in the pinsetter. Along the way we get a lesson in the trouble of dealing with a cyber-criminal and the need for paranoid friends!
Some real characters are those living in the retirement community, including Phee's mother and aunt. The PI firm is in a nearby town where Phee (Sophie Kimball) is the accountant while her husband (Marshall) is an investigator/partner.
I requested and received a free temporary EARC from Beyond the Page Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!

This is an entertaining, interesting, fun read. I enjoyed the mystery and the characters. The book is full of colour and quirky characters which added to the story and the overall reading experience. The story is easy to read and get into. The mysteries captured my attention from the start and held it until the very end.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fun! Laugh out loud fun! Crazy chaos and memorable characters make this one of my favorite series. I've never been disappointed spending time with Phee and the cast of characters and, trust me, some of them are real characters. I very much appreciate the list and succinct but accurate descriptions provided upfront. This one is developing quite a multitude of characters. Heck, the authors, a husband and wife team, even mention the four-legged ones, which is quite appropriate. Long time readers probably come as much to see what mischief and mayhem Streetman creates as to catch up with Phee and those about her. Phee's dreaded visits to the dog park with him are always a hoot. And, oh, yeah, there's a murder.

I won't even attempt to summarize the plot. That'd deprive you of the fun, laughs, and eye rolls to come as you try to work out whodunit. I will note that the cover gives you a big hint of some of Streetman's antics, not to mention his role in the hilariouslu gone-wrong sit-in. You'll like the characters, even if you may want to hug Phee (and Marshall and Nate could use one, too) in sympathy (or disbelief) at what has just happened. And, let's see, what else can I hint at without giving away too much? How about the appearance of lizards? Lots of lizards. On the serious side, cyber crime is focused on, I will note. If you spend any time online, you've surely seen posts from supposed too-good-to-be true (usually) men seeking love and romance....who just happen to need you to send money to them at some point. While I love these books for their humor, this is an important issue and I applaud the authors for including it in the plot.

And, oh, enough teasers. Read the blurb. If you're looking for a quick, fun read that'll give you lots of laughs as you envision hilarious scenes as they play out, this is the book for you. Five stars for the fun and how, somehow, the authors always manage to bring all the threads together at the end. Thanks #NetGalley and #BeyondThePagePublishing for giving me this sneak peek at Phee's world again. I am already looking forward to my next visit and wondering what mischief Streetman will get into based on that last teaser.
