I really liked this idea and think it a cute way to get people to use social media and spread the word. I think it was very useful and a lot of the elements were perfect to start discussions about what to read this summer.
Another great pub by NetGalley. I love the graphics and design of the Camp NetGalley publication. Also LOVE the idea. I spent many a summer at camp and the vibes are just immaculate. Next year I'd love to see Camp Netgalley again, maybe with some reading lists or some more social aspect. Maybe even bookish crafts or recipes. Those are the things I think are synonymous with camp: friends, food, crafts & the outdoors. The reading Bingo is fun but it seems like a lot for a short period of time. At least to clear the whole board it is a lot. Overall fantastic idea and execution. I am most excited for earning a new badge!
Camp NetGalley is such a summer treat! The event combines the joy of reading with a stress-free and enjoyable experience. This unique blend of reading and recreational elements helps me dive into more books than ever before, fostering a deeper appreciation for literature and making the entire journey as refreshing as it is rewarding. I’m having a lot of fun with it!
Here's my entry for the talent show:

The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick
Wow, wow, wow. I could not put this down.
This gothic historical romance, set in the 1920s follows the character Millicent Foxboro, who takes a job with Professor Callum Hughes at his estate. At first, Millie is put off by the professor's cold demeanor, which made me curious to see how their relationship might develop into a romance. While working at the estate, she comes across a journal belonging to the professor's late wife, revealing some unexplained experiences similar to her own. As she investigates the mystery of the wife's fate, she finds herself increasingly drawn to the professor.
This book is beautifully written, with eerie imagery, and elements of Celtic mythology. Expect dark academia vibes, a grieving lover, dark secrets, and paranormal twists, along with some romance and a bit of spice.
I'm having a lot of fun with this! The variety of prompts on the camp bingo has motivated me to read in new ways. It's great to connect with others on social media who are also participating.
I might not be able to participate as much as I wish to do so, but this is a really cool idea! I like that the bingo contains many kinds of bookish activities and that the event engages the readers through gaining badges and having weekly tasks. The materials are nicely designed and they really encourage me to catch up and boost my ratio. Thank you for this initiative!
One recommendation would be to maybe advertise this through a newsletter or something similar, as some people might not find out about it from social media and would lose this opportunity unless they stumble upon someone else mentioning the event.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to fully participate in this this year but I think it’s such a fun idea!
I think the Camp Netgalley idea is a fun way to encourage summer reading, but I feel like the Bingo has too many books on it to be completed by the average reader. Out of 24 squares, 9 are to read a different book. The rest are great activities. On the schedule, the bingo game is also only listed for the first week, which might make people think they have to complete it in a week for it to count, and could put people off of it. Some peoples brains are too literally to get those are suggestions and not hard and fast rules.
What a lovely idea! Its a nice way to engage readers for Summer time, we know how tricky it could be! And I like the idea of bingo, its encourage readers to explore more their ability. Love it!
I love this idea! It’s taking me back to summer library challenges (bring them back for adults I beg) I think next year it may be fun if there were a few more badges to earn during the event :)
I love this concept! The badges and activities are a great way for readers to engage, and the only thing that would make it better was if the packet had individual download files included for a more user friendly experience.
In the summer I travel quite a bit and I read along the way. Camp NetGalley has been a fun way to make a game out of my summer reading. I always appreciate NetGalley and their efforts to help reviewers help books thrive. I enjoyed the bingo game and would love to see more games in a future camp. Trivia would be fun!
A great resource! I am excited to try using this and seeing how many of the bingo tiles I can complete.
This is such a fun way to bring readers and reviewers together. Not all of us have access to in person events like this or people to do fun activities with. Very cool ideas and activities. Maybe we could include a live stream readathon?
Nice idea to check in week to week and try something new to read and other book accounts to follow.
Cool idea to get another badge!
This is a really fun idea! I love the weekly activities and I think the theming of a summer camp is a super cute idea that was well executed! The bingo is my favorite! Really all around Camp NetGalley is a great way to engage the NetGalley community. I'd hope for something really similar in future years!
I love this summer challenge and can’t wait to participate in it! The board and other graphics included were well done.
How fun!
I already have a bingo lol also I was stressed having to pick out my favorite review wtf
What a fun idea! Looking forward to the activities. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to work the Bingo board as I can't get it to download.
Camp NetGalley is such a fun idea! I love any excuse to read and the bingo card is right up my alley.
