A bit too cutesy for me. I'd rather have activities geared towards catching up on my to-read and to-review NetGalley shelves. Real-life stickers, not virtual ones, would be cool!
This is my first year doing Camp NetGalley and I'm so stoked to be a part of the community! I think my favorite review I've done so far has been for Beautyland, and I also got to gush about the book with the author herself at a reading!
I’m so excited to be a part of Camp NetGalley! What a fun way to engage in the reading community. I love badges and getting a chance to get something unique is always fun. I like the idea of weekly challenges too, I am a big reader so bingo challenges aren’t really my thing but love seeing others participate! I also love the idea of showcasing different reviews. Reviews are so unique to a reader and how they connected to a book (so long as they don’t contain spoilers). Thanks NetGalley!
I love this concept!! I am excited to participate in the weekly activities! I love the camp NetGalley bingo board.
So much fun! I love this! What a fun way to connect with other readers, engage with the reading community, and celebrate some great titles. Thank you for organizing!
Camp NetGalley is such a fun way to support readers all over the world! Super stoked for this event and opportunity to be apart of it! Can’t wait for Bingo & to see all the fun activities! :)
I always love the idea of encouraging more reading! When daylight is longer, it makes it easier to read more books so seeing others reading, whether out and about or social media is more fun! Plus, I enjoy seeing what other people are reading when they post about it! Would love to see more ways for readers to engage with each other next year!
This is such a fun way to get all of us NetGalley reviewers involved on the site! I loved the bingo cards and other cute checklists!! Excited to keep reading my way through camp NetGalley!!
Camp NetGalley is an exciting way to stay engaged in reading and reviewing titles over the summer. I can’t wait to complete the bingo game specifically.
This sounds fun! I had to read it a few times to understand some of the instructions, also I love the bingo but I feel like a lot of places posted BINGO challenges for the summer a little earlier. I’m signed up for so many BINGOs. Very creative though and I’m looking forward to participating!
I cannot express how much I enjoyed listening to Imogen Church. Her narration was expressive and heart felt. There were a lot of characters for her to voice and she was able to provide enough distinction that it wasn’t overly difficult to tell when one character ended and another started. And this was no easy feat, given she voiced characters of different genders, ages, and nationalities. Her reading style and narration voice {not character voice} was soothing, bordering on relaxing, which says a lot given the subject matter.
I’d definitely listen to an audiobook narrated by Imogen Church again and would recommend her to those who are new to audiobooks.
I only started today but I'm already having a lot of fun and am excited to use this to help further my reading goals!
This seems like a perfect way to kick off summer! Grab your favorite book, a cool drink, and a tote bag for goodies and hop on a camping adventure. Who doesn’t love BINGO? I can’t wait to earn some badges!
Camp NetGalley sounds like a fun challenge for summer reading. I am most looking forward to the bingo card, but I'm not sure how to use it just yet. In the future, it might be exciting to set up some kind of community aspect to the program.
Thanks NetGalley and We Are Bookish for providing this nerdy summertime entertainment!
Love the Welcome Packet. The templates for socials in particular are much appreciated! The badge and sticker links are a fun idea as well. I'm curious to see what events there are for the month! My suggestion for next year would be to see if there are publishers or/and independent authors you could *partner* with to have a selection of auto-approved e-ARCs available for participants to select from throughout the month! It would give readers a chance to increase their feedback percentages AND give exposure to upcoming books and authors!
I love the idea of summer camp and earning badges. I mean who doesn’t!!! The Camp NetGalley Welcome Packet definitely helped me understand what needs to be done to earn badges. Can’t wait to start earning badges this month. A great way to have fun with books.
I like the idea of Camp Netgalley, however, I don’t think the instructions are really all that clear, and it took me a minute to figure out what exactly is happening here! I think in the future the instructions could be a little more specific and I would be interested to see more ways for us as a community to connect, maybe a discord server or some other platform that allows users to connect more easily! For the talent show, I am submitting my review for Not Another Love Song by Julie Soto - I absolutely loved that book!!
I suppose this is a cute idea, but I'm a little confused and don't feel like there is a lot to do with the community. A more interactive event would be a lot better. I guess we will see how it all goes, but right now i'm skeptical.
I thought the idea of the event was cute, I love a summer camp vibe and theme so the branding for this really caught my attention. I was hoping there were more ways for us to connect to fellow NetGalley reviewers, maybe specific channels in Discord servers could work, as I feel it's hard to connect to NetGalley users on other platforms as many people don't prefer to reach out to others of their own accord.
I also think giveaways or other incentives to participate would be fun, maybe even having prizes that can be sent to the first few people who complete certain challenges or events for Camp NetGalley.
Overall a very cute idea, I'll definitely participate in a few of the social media events going on throughout the summer!
The Camp NetGalley Welcome Pack is a delightful invitation to join in some fabulous social reading activities.
The middle of the year is often a time of reading slumps - northern hemisphere folk are outside doing summery activities, while those of us in the southern hemisphere are shivering through the winter doldrums. These activities in the Camp NetGalley Welcome Pack are designed to bring both together for some bookish fun.
This is my first Camp NetGalley, and I'm really looking forward to the bookish bingo and scavenger hunts! 😁
For the talent portion of the camp, I humbly submit my review of A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6190250340
