I read the welcome package after downloading it and reading in in my Kindle.
Well, the links don't work on my kindle so I think I'll try again, as I do want to participate.
Thank you
This is such a fun idea! I cannot wait to participate in Camp NetGalley, which is full of fun activities and challenges.
I'm so exited to participate in Camp NetGalley this summer! I'm especially excited about the BINGO cards, because I'm a sucker for reading/review/bookish challenges! I'm also looking forward to following the tags on Instagram and maybe hooking up with a few new book review friends. Time to review s'more books!
I've momentarily lost my reading mojo purely down to being exceedingly busy, but I'm really hopeful that this will help me get it back!
I love the look of the activities and bingo! Anything like that gets me reading more so here's hoping for a fantastic month!
Hopefully this will help me keep me track my reading and goals for the month. It sounds fun and cute
This is such a fun idea and program. I am very excited to be a part of it, and look forward to the interactions.
I've only been on NetGalley for a little over a month and absolutely love it already. I love that they do activities like this to keep us all engaged! Can not wait to see what everyone posts about it!
Camp Netgalley looks cool! I think this is a fun idea! thank you for providing the powerpoint! I will definitely be submitting a review.
What a cute way to get readers engaged in showing off what they're reading! It's also fun seeing how everyone else is using the templates. It makes me feel connected to people all over and as an introvert, it makes engaging with others easier.
I really liked the the way that the bingo focused on diverse books and various reading styles instead of just one!
I would like more weekly challenges than a whole bingo card. Have mini events going on throughout the month.
This little Summer Camp is a really cute idea. The badge idea is super cute and the whole package is well organized and easy to follow. Love the idea of a bit of interactivity and I look forward to the rest of the month!
My talent show submission is a review of The West Passage, one of my favourite books of the year so far.
Thanks, NetGalley for putting this together! This is very creative and fun.
Here's a review I'm proud of (also linked below) for The Villain Edit by Laurie Devore
I have read a lot of Bachelor themed romance novels. They usually take place on a sugar-coated version of the show where there may be some minor stressors over public pressure but people really do fall in love and everyone is there 4TRR (for the right reasons). Not "The Villain Edit." "The Villain Edit" shows the Bachelor franchise in all of it's dark depravity and ill-intentions. It was unsettling. I loved every minute of it.
I will caution readers - while this is a romance and correctly branded and marketed as such, this is not a feel-good, fluffy book. Much of this book focuses on how being a contestant on a reality TV show is literal psychological torture, and all of the characters often make toxic and unlikable decisions.
I loved the complexity of all of the characters and how I (along with Jac) could never really tell their true intentions or whose side they were on. Throughout the book Jac laments the paranoia she is feeling, and I was feeling it right along with her. "The Villain Edit" is a refreshingly honest depiction of what it's like to be a reality star and the true cost of the sacrifices people make for clout and exposure.
This book is messy, fun, and exciting all at the same time. There were times that my jaw literally dropped when I was reading it, even though I knew exactly what was happening and should have (or did!) see it coming. Days later, I am still thinking about everything that occurred in this book. This book is an absolute trip and a wildly amazing journey start to finish. And I promise a producer didn't withhold time to sleep to make me say that.
5 stars
Thank you NetGalley and Avon for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
Really excited for this event 😍 I'd love to get some additional information in here, it mostly just covers what you can find on Instagram and the We are Bookish blog. Can't wait to discover what you have in store for us this summer!
I’m still a bit fuzzy on what this is all about but figured I’d give it a try. I’m not by nature an “Oh, let’s collect stickers” kind of person but if it inspires others to read more, works for me. What can I say? I’d rather just be reading. Grin.
Super fun idea! I love the bingo, and the little guide and the reading journal stickers. I think maybe some prompts for the week’s events might help next year!
My review is a profile K by Helen Fields the best book this year 📚💙
I’m not into tec so this may be the only thing I do for this - sorry ! 😰
I submit my review of The Future by Naomi Alderman for the Talent Show, I like the idea of highlighting people's reviews. A lot of us spend a lot of time reading and writing reviews, in the HOPE that people see them and it helps someone find a book they love. The bingo idea is fun, I wish it were more interactive instead of just a pdf.
I am SO excited for a virtual bookish camp! I will be printing this ASAP, but think it would be a fun challenge to complete via the app in the future!
I’m really excited for this. There aren’t enough book challenges for adults! A great idea to get everyone involved.
This is such a super cute idea! I'm leaving feedback mostly because I'm not sure if this will impact my ratio or not and I'd rather play it safe. I think it actually does impact my rating. Wish it didn't, but it is what it is. I'm sure there's no way for the web devs to differentiate between a file distribution and an actual ARC so, here we are.
