Was super busy and wish I could have participated more but what a fun idea! I look forward to next year and hopefully will be able to participate more.
I read through the packet but at the time felt like it was going to be more work than fun. I found it to be a little overwhelming. Maybe if I had read through the packet a few weeks in advance of the program starting I might have been more prepared or enjoyed it more. Perhaps I’ll try again next year now that I’m more familiar with what to expect. Thanks for putting this together though! It looks like a lot of hard work went into it!
This was really cute! Thanks for putting this together and I hope we can do this again next year! 4/5 stars given as I wish there was a PDF version or another option for the book
Liked this to keep up with all my reads for 2024. I will definitely be looking for something similar for next year.
A fun idea for bookish lovers! Haven't seen something like this before. Keeps readers interactive and encourages bookish engagement!
Super fun packet!! I really loved this idea for a packet for summer and making it a camp activity vibe.
This was such a fun thing to participate in this summer! I really enjoyed the engagement and helped motivate me on my Reading Challenge for the year. This guide served as a fun way to replace that Free Pizza we use to get from Pizza Hut for reading during the summer! I hope Net Galley continues to offer Packets like this!
Thank you for allowing me to read ARCs for NetGalley! I am new to reviewing ARCs, so the extra PDF guides were very helpful to me as I started out. I've been a reader and a writer for much of my life, but I don't think I knew much about ARCs until very recently!
Thank you NetGalley for hosting this event! I'm sorry I didn't have the time to participate in it fully. Hopefully next year!
this was fun! i wish i had had more time to dedicate to it, but what a great way to get the arc community involved!
I ended up not participating in Camp, but I think the concept was a really fun idea! July was just too busy for me to be able to take time to do the activities on the socials, and then I forgot about entering the contest.
soild read haha 10/10 though I wish it was a little less detailed. Please make an easier program to follow next year!
Thanks for putting this Welcome Packet resource together, NetGalley! I hope I have more time to participate in the next one. :)
These were fun for summer reading. I enjoyed seeing the Instagram stories. I got a lot of really nice book recommendations.
I had so much fun watching the Instagram stories on NetGalley this summer! I got a lot of great book recommendations & made some friends along the way
This was a fun interactive activity. Definitely enjoyed joining in with the different elements. Fingers crossed for more like it!!
This was very fun. I think it was a fun idea. I had trouble using the guide, bit it was a very fun idea.
I love this idea! I wish I had more time in July to take advantage of it and I hope NetGalley will do this again next year. I would have liked more clear instructions or having a separate program on here to keep better track of the activities offered.
What a fun summer activity! I didn't participate as much as I wanted but am so excited for these types of events in the future.
This also makes me want to try my hand at digital book journaling.
During camp month I read 2 ARCs, Look in the Mirror by Catherine Steadman and The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer. Both were excellent. The Lost Story may be one of my favorite books of the year.
My Review for "This Spells Love"
This book honestly had so much potential, and I’m not saying it didn’t meet it, but it could be so much more. In a more generous opinion, this was a witty, cute, and fun love story that is the epiphany of the best friends-to-love trope. You really can’t help but love Dax and Gemma. Their friendship is so precious you just want them to make it work, and it was actually really enjoyable to watch all the pieces come together as Gemma tries to befriend Dax again (and how they can finally give a relationship a chance bc they’re clearly attracted to each other). That said, I felt like there were so many plotholes in this story. The magic aside, it really made little to no sense to me how Dax didn’t think Gemma was crazy after ‘breaking into his store’ – like her break up story doesn’t answer how she knew everything about him. And there were just so many things that didn’t add up to me… BUT
I was able to look past that, and if you can too, then you can definitely enjoy this read!! The relationship that Gemma has with her aunt and sister is great, and honestly, all the secondary characters of this book are likable. Def worth checking out!
▫️what I liked:
-Gemma’s aunt and sister
-Dax’s cousins
-best friend to lover trope like I just love love
▫️what I didn’t like:
-plot holes
