This idea is super cute! I had every intention of participating but life events have made the month of July a bit of a challenge. I really hope to be able to participate next year. I love that it is all virtual but having a way to make it more tactile would be nice. Like an option to print the bingo board maybe? I'm all for ebook and similar formats but somethings are just more fun when i can slap an actual sticker on it. Thank you
This was a really fun way to engage more with net galley and participate in review-related activities!
Things I loved:
> Ease of access of information/instructions and various activities
> Welcome packet (generally)
> Themeing (camp!! so cute!)
> Increased engagement on socials
> Increased adoption through main site
> Increased adoption of app
Things I think could be better:
> Audience and/or messaging refinement: the activities and execution of the themeing felt very childlike, which is really fun, but isn't my vibe as a 30-year old woman. I think NG has a lot of different audiences, and there could be either be better segmentation (something like this focused on young/young-at-heart readers, vs. something a little more mature-feeling for those who may not engage with cartoon vibes), or a better assessment of the audience to refine messaging. (This is just me! But I chatted with a slew of bookish friends, incl booksellers and influencers, who all opted out of participating because it looked "young" and "childish")
I love this idea! I wish it spanned the entire summer (maybe mid-late June through early August?) so that there’s more time to do everything. I had a lot of stuff come up so I didn’t get to be super involved.
Giving my review and link for Talent Show. I chose my review for Nicola Yoon’s new novel as I feel this is a robust and honest review. I’m a big Yoon fan, but didn’t want that to influence the review or rating I gave the novel, and I feel good about being unbiased with my review I provided.
This was put together well. The graphic design really helped to differentiate the tasks and seem fun and cute. I have poor short term memory due to an autoimmune disease, so I completely forgot out this. That’s my fault, not yours, this was a great idea.
Next year I would love to see a tutorial about stickers and badges, I don’t really understand how they work. Or how to edit the journal.
Ummm how flipping fun is this??? Netgalley, I love you so much. There is nothing better then a book bingo board. I just wish I had been given more time because summer with children equals craziness.
Camp NetGalley was a fun bookish activity to participate in during these sweltering July days. When I first viewed the welcome packet, I found it a little daunting but the tasks were easy and I enjoyed getting creative with my posts.
Thank you NetGalley and We Are Bookish!
Fun activity for the summer! Thanks to NetGalley for organising and for social media coverage! Great way to get to know other reviewers
Camp NetGalley has been such a fun time! I really loved the social media templates like ‘ get to know the camper’ that I could share with my friends and bookstagram. I also loved the stickers and just how interactive the whole thing has been! It has been a great way to get excited about the NetGalley community and build some momentum behind my reviews again.
I love this idea. Wish I would have done it from the beginning. This gets you excited to read & finish and review your books.
This is such a cute resource to use to keep track of books and achievements! I love that Netgalley is providing opportunities for readers to get badges and explore fun reading activities.

Appreciated the fun activities involved in this! Would have liked a bit more lead up to the activities/reminders to do them (I forget in the summertime!) but was a way to freshen up summer reading (and who doesn't love summer camp!)

I loved participating in Camp NetGalley! I loved all the prompts and the bingo board. It gave me that extra push and motivation I needed to get some extra reads completed!
This event seemed like a lot of fun but July had other plans and I could not participate as much as I would've liked. That being said I loved the idea of this event. Bingo boards are such a fun part of any reading-type event let us readers enjoy having direction but also the freedom to read based on our favorite authors and genres! I hope it returns next year and I hope I get to participate more fully in Camp NetGalley!
I LOVE having new stickers for the reading journal! It's the only one I've ever managed to stick with and I use it multiple times a week. I've really grown to love it, so having some new images to add in made me smile a bunch!
I wish there were a more centralized place to be able to chat with others and share things than just scattered under hashtags on a bunch of different social media sites. A Discord might be too much to ask I guess? Is there a Reddit page I don't know about? I get that social media is probably easier, but that's my main lacking point here is just not having a single place to connect with others for it. I don't really do much on social media for that reason so that was a large chunk of it that I just wasn't involved in like the scavenger hunt apparently.
Overall fun idea, but didn't feel very interactive which is really a core tenet of a "summer camp" theme, to make connections!
This was such a great idea, although I did not have much time to participate in the social media's activities. The idea of the whole camp with a bing and different stickers you can get is absolutely genius, I just think people need to be a bit more actively talking and participating in order for this to be a complete hit. A winter camp or another type of event could be great in order for people to get in touch with these activities online, and it could create some hype for the summer activities. I wish my mutuals from social media had participated, maybe next year we will try to inspire people to participate.
Here are two fo my most recent (and long) reviews from ARCs received from Netgalley. I am going to leave the links, because they are indeed quite long to put here. Thank you for this opportunity!

I really loved the concept of Camp NetGalley! As soon as I got the welcome packet, I read through it and posted my “get to know the camper” info on my IG stories. After the first few days, everything fell off my radar. I wish the welcome packet had more clear instructions on when + how to post. Having tasks broken down weekly or with any kind of date outlines would have helped me plan for and keep up with things. I do look forward to participating next summer!
Thank you net gallery for giving me the opportunity to have some fun with my reading this summer. I found it helpful
What a fun and exciting summer reading event for the people to be engaged. The scavenger hunt was probably the most fun! Looking forward to next years event!
