Loved this idea and especially the bingo board! I would love to see more social media engagement options next year, too. I had a lot of fun with the scavenger hunt prompts chosen this year!
I haven't been involved in Camp Netgalley in previous years but I am very glad I found this. I love posting on my Bookstagram and this is the sort of thing I like to share about.
I am a veracious reader and I will read all genres of book. I know how much hard work goes into each book and I like to give authors credit where it is due. I review every single one of the books I read. I usually have 3 books on the go at any one time, a physical book, an audiobook and an ebook. I have options based on what I'm doing at the time.
I am really enjoying being part of this years Camp Netgalley and can absolutely appreciate the effort that has gone into making it. As a newbie, I may have missed this, but one suggestion would be how to download the stickers onto a mobile phone device, for some reason this didn't work for me. Everything else is absolutely spot on and has been thoroughly planned out. I'm really enjoying doing bingo and filling in some of the Reading Journal.
A fun way to engage with the books. I'd love a longer summer camp with more varied activities that aren't time related (so all summer for the scavenger hunt) since people's schedule's get all wonky.
This is such a fun idea! I like all the interactive components to keep you engaged and reading over the summer. The packet is nicely done and I love that you can come and go with it as you please. It's a fun, grown up version of summer reading.
I love this so much! This is such an inspiration to read and be more social with everyone! I love the bingo card!
I am loving Camp NetGalley thinking about the different books I have reviewed and which I want to put forward for the Talent Show. Also I am wondering which reviews people I know will be submitting. Playing bingo is always fun and I am having a blast with this years Bingo and seeing how other have filled in their board.
One of things I always loved about camp was the sports and activities between the cabins. It might be fun next year to have different books settings or genres in a Camp NetGalley Activity Nights to help people whittle down their Review Lists. For instance broad Categories like Non-Fiction for Archery, Suspense / Thriller for Track and Field, something involving beach or water for Swimming, a mystery for Board Game Night, a new author for Good Bunkmate, etc. Although like a bingo this could just be a fun way to dig into your TBR this could be shared with hashtags and even submitted via Google form for an Excellent Camper Badge when completed and submitted.
I love how this is designed to inspire you to read. I loved the bingo! It had me searching for books that wouldn't necessarily have crossed my radar.
If I were to improve anything it would have been nice to have a forum where the reviewers could have chatted to each other, almost like a camp sleepover!!
I like the idea of making reviewing books a little more social, but didn't really understand what was expected or offered in this Welcome Packet. Maybe instead of having everything in a PDF and opening links, send out a sign up with a summary, and everyone who signs up gets the bingo card emailed, send out emails of people who "win" the bingo, etc. That would be more interactive for those who want that.
This has been fun!! While I haven't been able to do everything, the parts I have been able to do have been fun and have gotten me out of an awful reading slump so thank you for that NetGalley!

Camp NetGalley motivated me to crawl my way out of a reading slump.
It's such a simple, yet great idea that had be comparing Bingo with my other followers and encouraging me to try and get a full house!
Although the idea is simple and fun, getting my head around the concept wasn't so simple. I had to reread the Welcome Pack about 3 times before I understood how to submit my reviews to the Talent Show, but other than that, a great idea! Looking forward to participating next year!
Enjoyable challenges and tasks. I wish I had downloaded to participate sooner. I liked the variety of challenges especially the bingo with a good amount of different options to pick. Review for previous review in July https://www.netgalley.co.uk/book/325899/review/809587
Exactly what it says on the tin. Er... I mean on the cover. Can't take a holiday this year? NetGalley has you sorted! Thanks NetGalley.
This was such a fun reading summer camp! There were links in the PDF and also the Instagram page had some useful story templates to use. This was so fun,!
Hope there are more fun opportunities like this in the future
A summer camp for reading! Count me in! I’m a bit late to camp but glad I joined. Just getting back to NetGalley after a long pause. This summer camp has motivated me to get back into my reading routine. I love the weekly activities, and I filled out the meet the camper page. It would be great if the camp started earlier, maybe mid-June through early August. I had some trouble with the stickers but maybe it was the use of a mobile phone. Didn’t get to play bingo, but maybe next year there will be a couple more games to play. Looking forward to next year. I’ll have to make sure I’m keeping up so that I won’t be late to camp.
Lots of fun ideas to keep reading interesting and find new books and authors. I’ve enjoyed expanding my typical reading genres and authors in general this year and the summer challenge at Netgalley continued the trend. Super fun finding new books and authors!
Obviously this was really fun. I’m hoping for more of these. It also got me into making lists on Netgalley, which I had never thought to do before.
Camp NetGalley was such a fun idea! The tracking page is a great organization tool -- very easy to see what I've accomplished and what I still need to complete. The Bingo Card is a fun touch! And I found the directions clear and self-explanatory. I really liked the activities posted on social media. That was another fun aspect to this reading program. Overall, I think this is a fun idea and I hope to participate in the future in more of these fun reading experiences.
I have attached a link to my latest #NetGalley review that I completed during this summer reading challenge.
This is the first year ive joined NetGalley, so this is also the first year that ive participated in the NetGalley Camp. This is a super fun and creative way to get members to read and have a bit of fun. I love this idea. My only critiques are to have more detailed descriptions of what this is.
Appreciate the summer event! Been swamped with work and haven't been able to participate as much as I want to :(
Awesome resource for reviewers. It is really helpful to see how the content works in the review process.
