I love love love this idea.
What a cute fun way to get the bookish community involved. It's exciting.
I like the resources that NetGalley came up with for this summer challenge. It helps organize summer reading into manageable bits and to motivate me to read more during the summer. I would like to use something like this to motivate the children in my classes to read more during the summer as well.
The resources are simple, fun to use and well organised. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to motivate themselves (or others) to read during the summer.
Thank you to NetGalley for this amazing resource!
I’m excited for this activity! This looks like a lot of fun! I have my first NetGalley review linked below!
Such an amazing idea for the summer!! I like how easy to use it is and how you participate is completely up to you as a book lover! I enjoy how cute the templates are as well’
I thought the idea behind this was fun, almost like a summer readathon, but the execution felt rushed and vague. The bingo activity was well written and conclusive. However, I felt the other activities could have been fleshed out more. I think it felt less like a community event and more like tasks for an individual. This seems to go against the idea of a summer camp. I wonder if this could be addressed for future summers?
I love this! Grownups need summer reading challenges, too. 😉 This has been so much fun so far. Looking forward to the final few weeks of it. Thank you for a fun challenge.
What a fun idea! I love reading bingo, and this is just another card to add to my library bingo cards!
The Camp bingo card is my favorite part because it gives me an excuse to pick something random to read to fit a certain category.
I don't know how it could be implemented, but I think Camp would be more fun if there was someone to be accountable to or to do an activity with (maybe a couple of the bingo squares are about taking a walk with someone while talking about books).
The idea of a summer camp event for netgallery was intriguing but I don't think this landed for me. Most of the activities seem like a lot to participate in for a one week span. I also felt like this was fairly vague. I'd love to see more context on these and maybe to have a larger time frame than one week. The bingo event being one week and having multiple prompts to read a full book just doesn't seem realistic for most. Overall a cute idea and I love to see that Netgallery is interacting more with its audience.
i am so excited to be participating i love this idea and i am so excited to be here next year too!! maybe next time we can have like a little "most read camper" or something like that where everyone suvmits the books they have read during the camp and the most read one gets a reward
Loving this summer NetGalley event. Big thanks to We Are Bookish + NetGalley for putting this together for us reviewers!
From reading challenges to unique stickers for the NetGalley reading journal, the "talent show" to scavenger hunts - what a fun way to celebrate bookish folks!
This is so a great idea for readers in the summer time. I was so excited when I saw the email! I feel like I am getting the "Summer Camp" experience since I never got to go to camp in the summer. Great Job Netgalley!! My favorite part is earning badges

I like the idea of this initiative and I am finding it motivating to engage with NetGalley more than the usual requests and feedback. I am still a bit confused and would love to see a more streamlined engagement approach in future years. I also wish I had known about this earlier in the year and could have prepared with requests and just a general anticipation. Some of the stickers and virtual items don't make a lot of sense to me but perhaps it works for other content creators and reviewers.
This is an excellent initiative. Although I am joining a bit late, I am very eager to participate. The provided packet clarified the process, and the links were quite helpful. As a newcomer to the Netgalley community, I look forward to continuing my journey of reading and reviewing alongside my fellow bibliophiles.
Whether you're a longtime NetGalley member or just getting started, this online summer camp extravaganza is the perfect way to immerse yourself in all things bookish during the month of July 2024.
First, the included activities are really cute, and I had a lot of fun using some of them (such as bingo) on my social media channels to interact with my audience.
I also enjoy the concept behind the Talent Show. Submitting a review for the Welcome Packet and sharing a link to my favourite book review felt like a fun challenge. It pushed me to reflect on what I loved reading this year and to showcase a review I’m really proud of.
As for next year, I’d love to see even more interactive elements, like live virtual author Q&As or book club discussions. Maybe even a scavenger hunt that takes us through different genres or themes!
This is such an awesome idea. I have downloaded the packet and read over everything. Cannot wait to explore more.
Such a super fun idea! I'm a little late to the party but I'm super excited about participating. The packet made the process more clear and the links were helpful. As a relative newbie to the Netgalley family, I cannot wait to continue reading and reviewing with all my fellow bibliophiles.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this Welcome Packet! Super informative for someone who is just starting out. :)
I was super confused on what Camp NetGalley was, but I'm so thrilled that I actually took a chance to check it out.
The welcome packet was absolutely adorable and did a great job of explaining what Camp NetGalley was.
I think for next year, there should be several more activities to participate in, along with maybe a Camp NetGalley Summer Reading guide where NetGalley and participants submit a several books to read (optional of course) for the month that CNG is going on.
Super excited to be more involved next year!
This was so cute!! Maybe there could be community events next time? I liked the PDF, although it was a bit long. Also having the Camp NetGalley in the books that we review is a little awkward to me. But I loved the idea!
