Really fun activity for summer and to motivate you to post more reviews to your socials. I really love the bingo board, though it seems geared toward new reviewers versus veteran users but overall there is a good mix of prompts on the board.

Gallows Wood - Louisa Scarr
This is a brand new police series from Louisa Scarr and she’s really off to a flying start with it.
If you are a fan of police procedurals then definitely give this a try, slightly reminded me of Line of Duty but with police dogs.
Loved the story and loved the characters and the story was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Lucy and Jake’s story unfold in the rest of the series.

Its 1925 and Abigail Dixon is living in Paris working for a Chicago Newspaper's Paris office. She longs to be taken serious as a journalist but only get assignments for society and women's page news. She is sent to Darrington Manor in England to cover the pre-wedding festivities and wedding of the daughter of an English aristocrat and a very wealthy and powerful American businessman. She was specifically requested by the groom's father who is an admirer of her "spunk."

This story grabbed my attention and didn't let go until the end. The mystery was well crafted and kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed all the characters. I liked how they were developed to show that people have different sides to their personalities. People that are likeable can also do bad things. Abigail (Abby) and her best friend Vivien complimented each other and kept each other from getting too far out in left field as they try to get to answers. I also enjoyed the character of French Det Henri Deschamps, her nemeses from the previous book, who is there to support his old friend, the bride's father. I look forward to seeing Abby and Det Deschamps match wits again.

A great read and I highly recommend. I do give warning that you will not want to put this one down!

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read this story.

This was a nice summer activity for readers. The Packet was cute with artwork that matched the theme well. Hopefully this type of fun activity set will continue periodically. Maybe a coordinated read-along or virtual book club might be a neat activity to consider for the future.

Camp NetGalley packet is a fun guide to summer reading. I think the activities (Bingo, Talent Show, Scavenger Hunt) are a nice way to engage the NetGalley community. The Bingo card is really great as I think it will give new members or those in a reading slump, a creative way to find different types of books to read.

This is a well thought out way to make summer reading fun! The only future suggestions that I have are reminders for activities and incorporating ways for group interaction to foster community instead of just solo activities.

To be honest I am still unsure as to what this is about. The welcome packet did not explain it clearly, or maybe I was expecting something more. Regardless, I am still excited to see what is going on and I will also follow others who are also joining this Camp NetGalley!

Review for American Rapture by CJ Leede:

This book gutted me.

It was such a beautifully, tragic story. It was so easy to root for and get attached to the main characters. I especially enjoyed the growth of Sophie among so much destruction - she deserves all the good things. I also enjoyed that the book had background before the chaos started that you were able to get a good understanding of Sophie and her upbringing going into everything. I'm still sitting with the ending so I'll probably update my feelings on that once I figure them out.

This book is filled with so much loss and so much hope and I will definitely be buying a copy and doing a reread once it's published.
