Thanks to NetGalley and Raconteur 888 Press for an advance E copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was quick to engage with the story and the characters. The writing style made it easy to stay focused throughout the book. I was not thrilled with the main characters, often rolling my eyes at something one of them said. I found it predictable and found my self thinking "seriously" and shaking my head at the climax of the story. I think the biggest thing for me is that there needs to be some sort of trigger warning or better details in the summary of the story.. I feel that anyone who has suffered from the events on 9/11 picking up this book would have a very hard time getting through it and that it could trigger some strong unwelcomed feelings. Over-all, it was a three star book more for the writing style of the Author that the story itself.

A somewhat unsettling thriller…. Hard to read sometimes due to the intense setting/story. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the chance to preview this uncorrected proof

This book was okay. I really like the storyline and thought it would be interested. This was a new author for me so I was excited. Unfortunately it took a lot for me to get through this. I quickly found that I didn't enjoy the story as much as I thought. Adding fiction to a real life event turned out not to be my type of read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC !

I did enjoy the mystery .of trying to stop the attack and find out exactly what and when it was.. and who (else) was involved. . I did have a trouble buying into enlisting Maddie and Will for help in encovering the plot.
I would definately read another LV Pederson book.

This was a departure from the mystery/suspense books I normally read, however, overall i enjoyed it.

3 / 5

Plot: In hindsight, I don't know why it didn't click for me that it was about 9/11. It said it was a thriller, this is false. Thrillers build anticipation and anxiety. Anytime there was the premise for that to happen, the next chapter had a revelation that diffused it. I did enjoy the BTS of police work, government investigations etc, the despair of the actions of 9/11 and the speed at which the story progressed. It just felt lacking however, don't feel like there was a climax, just ebbs and flows of a storyline.

Characters: I liked the depth of the FMC and the relationships she was open to building, her desire to get answers and put herself at risk for the greater good. The antagonist was...interesting. As a character, he made me cringe and the author was good in making me feel disgust when he was on the page. Is is weird to say that I wish he was more outright 'evil' , more than the creepy behaviour leading up to the main event; something to make him standout as the villain.

Overall, it did take me 1 week to get through it. Writing was okay, but plot felt flat. A 3rd act plot twist would've given it an extra star.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.

AMAZING! This book completely blew my mind. It was so detailed and well written it was like I was right there, living it. Kept me guessing until the end. It literally kept me on edge the entire time. I will be following this author to watch for more books!!

This book was a good read. It started off very well and captured my attention pretty quickly but I feel like it lost that pull around 35 percent in. Even with that fact I was still able to finish reading the book it just took me a bit longer than normal. It was a good story and a book I did enjoy. I will end up reading more from this author.

This story is about a girl who gets herself involved in some crazy conspiracy, FBI investigation, and a huge secret involving her new boss. Is her boss going to get away with it? Will he be stopped in time? The suspense was real, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story. I think I held my breath for the last 100 pages. This is a great book full of excitement and suspense.

Madi is scared of her own shadow as she starts a new job. Her new boss is crossing lines with how he creeps her out with his interactions. Her boss is much more than her employer. He is part of her nightmares. Madi, along with new friends, is pushed & dragged out of her comfort zone. She faces her worst nightmare. With nothing left to lose (except her life) Madi is pushed to her limits.

I enjoyed this story. The "adventure" parts seemed a little far out there for a woman scared of her own shadow. Traveling from here to there didn't add up to me. But the story line & characters kept me reading wanting to find out how it ended. There was a few parts I had to put it down & reread a page because my brain was in shock. The good kind of shock.

Very exciting, fast-paced read with twists and turns throughout. It revolves around a piece of history that interests me deeply. Mainly, because I lived through it. But, even if you’re too young to remember it you will be intrigued. I highly recommend this book to everyone

I was really looking forward to reading this from the synopsis and from other reviews however I had to DNF. The story was quite clunky and I could not stand the “boss” I am an executive assistant myself and I felt like the stereotype was really played on and I don’t think in a good way.

The. Suspense. WOW! This book was written perfectly, I can hardly believe it is L.V Pederson’s first book. The book obviously has ties to 9/11 (a day no one will ever forget), but I had no idea how much it would actually include 9/11. As luck would have it I became ready to read a new book on none other than 9/11/2024, it was a very odd feeling for me being that my next book was 9 Minutes 11 Seconds.
The very beginning was very triggering for me since my family and I have experienced a similar tragedy (but it did not result in death, thank goodness), after I got through the first chapter it was a literal hunger to read this book as much as I could,
This book does a perfect job of keeping you in suspense, keeping you wondering and living on the edge of your seat as you try to guess the next move. The characters are described so perfectly that you literally can’t not imagine exactly what they look like and how perfect they are for their roles. The words chosen to be descriptive of a scene or a person is very methodical and well thought, it was evident that the author took the time to assign words very appropriately. The whole book could almost play out in a perfectly directed movie in your head as you read.
This book was absolute perfection and I am very grateful I was able to read it early. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the world thinks of Maddie and her survivor journey.

This was unputdownable! It grabbed me in the first sentence and didn't let me go until I'd devoured the entire thing. The characters are empathetic and relatable. But it's the situation, fraught with tension and suspense, that kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved this book!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

I enjoyed it. The beginning was not as eventful as I thought it would be. Slowly it gets eventful. It did have some good action in it. I loved the detective work and rescue missio.. A little bit of romance, self-discovery and revenge. After years of struggling with blame, she finally learns the truth. It was never her fault.

Most definitely recommend this book to ones that like thrillers and crime books. It was a little bit of a slow beginning but one it started it just did not seem to stop. I did enjoy the 9/11 connection and how it was done in this book (I also read it the week anniversary of 9/11 which kind of added to the book a bit as well). I did feel a connection with Madison throughout the book which just added to the book.

If you enjoy a good thriller with some twists then I most definitely recommend this book!

SOMEONE TAKE ME BACK TO WHEN I COULD READ THIS BOOK AGAIN!
This book gave us eerie. This book gave us unsettling. This book gave us textbook thriller in the best way possible and I am so mad I finished it so quickly.
I seriously enjoyed this read, I love our protagonist I love the writing style, I love the pacing. I think the ending was very fitting for the story and everything felt believable. The first chapter hooked me in immediately and the rest is history.
I heavily recommend this read.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC which will be released January 2025. The book started off slowly but quickly picked up the pace. Well written and I could not put it down. I was not sure about the 9/11 connection, but it worked. It makes one think about the many possible “what ifs” from that fateful day. It looks like this is a debut novel by L V Pederson. I look forward to reading future books by this author. Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds is a fantastic suspense/thriller. It would make a good movie too.

This is my second ARC book review. Yay! 😁
As I was checking out NetGalley this books blurb caught my eye.

I liked it. It’s my first fiction book with 9/11 as the backdrop and I feel that the author handled it with respect through the exploration of trauma and resilience. There were a couple of remarks the young character makes that made me feel uncomfortable though - the comments were biased and based on stereotypes. So, I could have done without that. Also, the character Madison’s reactions (some were rightfully so) but mostly the others were unnecessarily over the top and I could feel myself rolling my eyes.

A few things felt a little unrealistic but the main storyline of a new threat connecting to 9/11 did not. It felt scarily real. The parts with the FBI and CIA operatives brought me back to the intensity and drive of the book/show Jack Ryan. That was my favorite part about the reading. It felt like a thriller and that I was like “c’mon, c’mon read faster I need to know what happens.”

Thank you to NetGalley, L. V. Pederson, and the publisher for the opportunity to read the ARC for this!
