This was the first book I've read by this author. We meet Sophie, a TV presenter who lives a very nice life with her husband Scott and their two children. When Sophie's daughter Katie gets herself expelled from school, they arrange for Deanna to home tutor her. Deanna seems perfect, but is she beginning to make herself a little too comfortable in Sophie's family home?

This was a great read, which was full of twists and turns throughout. Sophie was a likeable character and one which was easily to relate to. She seemed to have the perfect life with a successful career, lovely husband and an amazing house, but her daughter Katie is causing trouble with her behaviour. When Deanna turned up to be Katie's home tutor I could hear the alarm bells ringing straight away as something about Deanna just didn't seem right. I really felt for Sophie throughout the book and I know if that if I was in her shoes, I'd feel exactly the same as she did. As Sophie's story moved on I have to admit I didn't really guess where it was heading, but found myself gripped into the plot waiting for everything to be revealed.

There was lots of suspense throughout and the tension of what was happening to Sophie was well written. The twists in the storyline were unexpected and I certainly didn't see them coming. The author has done an excellent job of keeping the mystery well hidden and it kept me turning the pages furiously so I could find out just what was going on! I will definitely be reading more books by this author!! Would recommend!!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Sophie appears to have the perfect life – handsome and loving husband, Scott, two lovely children, a gorgeous London townhouse, and a television career. Then her daughter, Katie, starts seriously misbehaving at her private school and is eventually expelled. Whilst trying desperately to get her into another school, they employed a one-to-one tutor, Deanna and she seems to get on very well with Katie.

Then Sophie’s life starts to fall apart. She does things that she can’t remember doing, feels unwell, and has nightmares. She also catches Deanna getting close to Scott and is immediately suspicious of this stranger who is worming her way into their lives. Sophie even starts to wonder if she’s safe in her own home.

A brilliant plot with plenty of twists and turns, I was totally gripped and didn’t expect the ending at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

I loved it! It was so exciting that I couldn’t put it down for 2 hours straight. I thought it was going to be just what I was expecting but no there were so many twists! The writing was so good, we saw main character’s thoughts transparently and it made the book so much more engaging. Anyone who loves psychological thriller focused on women especially must read it! Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book by new author, JM Dalgliesh! Homewrecker had me hooked from the first chapter all the way through to the very last page. I can honestly say that I dove myself almost as crazy as the main character, Sophie, trying to figure out what was really going on! The reveal in the final chapter really was the icing on the cake! I am definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future!

This book was quite a roller coaster ride with twists, turns, and an unexpected ending.

The characterization was well done with actions that showed how the characters felt and dealt with the turmoil. It was easy to like the main character Sophie and feel she was definitely being pushed to the brink by those around her.

While the ending tied things up, I didn't really like it, but it did tie things up. I think there might have been a better way to handle one of the characters.

Wow what a book this story really messed with my head as I was not expecting the ending at all. I had worked out one thing but the rest just blew me away. This is well worth a read but is very hard to explain without ruining the story but we meet Sophie a TV presenter who seems to have it all, the high flying husband and two perfect children but when her daughter gets expelled from school things seem to fall apart and her perfect world is coming apart at the seams. Add in the new tutor for her daughter as the school won’t take her back and Sophie is convinced she wants to take over her life. Don’t miss this one!

Found the book pretty slow up until the last ~25%. There was nothing that really caught my attention per se. I felt for Sophie the whole time, but was pretty surprised with Scott at the end.

WOW what a wild read this was. I was gripped from the first page until the very last and what an ending it was really didn’t see that coming. It was a very well written thriller with well developed characters that my heart was racing at the ending wondering what was going to happen. I loved the many twists and turns and as I said before wow what a shocking ending. I will definitely be recommending this I think this may be my favourite book so far this year. Thank u

Never judge a book by it's cover and I am not talking about an actual book in this case, but about people.

The most charming and loving person on the outside can have the most rotten center and someone you think you have to keep in your sight, might be someone who has your best interests at heart.

Sometimes someone sees something you don't and in order to help you, they have to 'hurt' you first, because if they would talk to you about it, you would think they were not telling the truth. Sometimes they have to open your eyes the hard way.

When I start a new book, the author gives me some information for my mind to work with and it starts wandering down a certain path. The question is though: is this the path the author wants me to follow or do they suddenly want me to throw everything I thought I knew overboard and make me reprogram by thinking process...

A great story and great characters make for a very enjoyable read. 5 stars

Thank you
