From the moment we meet Bea and Ollie at the airport on Christmas Eve, both heading home to their respective families, I knew I would love this book.
They spend a few hours together before parting but they don't take each others number. A chance encounter when they are back in London reconnects them again and they slowly get to know one another.
I loved all the characters and felt that Bea and Ollie, along with the situations they found themselves in were so relatable. An excellent cast of side characters added to the storyline, my favourites being Leroy and Aunt Nora. I also can't miss out the two adorable canine companions
The author has written a beautiful, heartwarming and emotional story which deals with family, friends, relationships and love.
What an absolutely wonderful read.
Thank you Cornerstone, Penguin Random House and Netgalley for my ARC. I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Bea and Ollie meet christmas eve both on their way to Ireland to see family. There's a connection but Bea has a boyfriend and Ollie is getting ready to say goodbye to his dad. Maybe next christmas things will be different for them both.
Aww what a cute and sweet festive story. A perfect christmas gift to anyone who loves a christmas romance. It does feature grief and dying in this but its handled well and honest. The plot is simple but works out really well. I love how it comes together over the course of a year. It does feel a little rushed at certain times but the important bits are just right. The ending was gorgeous. I loved it so much. The writing is descriptive and makes me want to visit Ireland. Beautiful festive, heartwarming story.

Bea loves working in a boutique upmarket hotel in London. There’s nothing that’ll drag her back to Ireland, not even her longstanding boyfriend of seven years. She’s returning for Christmas to spend with her family. Unfortunately, the plane’s been delayed an hour. She’s writing what to say to Sean, she feels their romance has run its course and it’s time to break things off with him, but how to let him down gently? Meanwhile, Ollie is also heading back to Ireland, he’s a cardiac nurse in a London hospital but returning for what will probably be his dad’s last Christmas, he’s terminally ill. The airport is full, they end up sitting at the same table. They have a meal together and as they head to the plane, they find they’re sitting together. They get on like a house on fire. But it’s just a dream - neither learns where the other works, lives and not even their surnames.
Christmas isn’t what Bea expects, and she longs for her return to London.
Chasing rainbows.
Beautifully written, totally absorbing and engaging. I laughed, I cried.
Wonderful Christmas read.

Bea is travelling home to Ireland for Christmas when she strikes up a conversation with a stranger at the airport. When they land they part, not expecting to ever meet again, until they meet again by chance in London.
A slow, gentle read, although not without a few surprises. Both Bea and Ollie are likeable characters, plus I loved Ollie's Aunt Nora and Leroy, who works at the exclusive hotel where Bea is a manager. There are some sad moments along with the happier ones, which is life. A wonderful, cosy read for Christmas.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
At the airport Bea and Ollie meet each other, and when their flight is delayed they have dinner and talk. They don’t expect to meet up again, but then they’re seated together on the same flight, and they get close, but each have things going on in their lives that need their attention.
Ollie’s job is that of a nurse in a hospital based in London and Bea is a manager at a boutique hotel.
They’re are on their way home, Ollie’s Dad is not well, so it’ll be their last Christmas together and Bea is going to end her relationship as it’s not working out.
There are some wonderful side characters, Leroy who works at the hotel, and Ollie's aunt Nora are especially lovely, as is the dog that Sarah rescued, Nana, who is now the hotel dog and spoiled by everyone.
They do meet again in London, but they still have issues to sort out.
The story had you turning the pages wanting to know how they both end up together.
I highly recommend this book.

The most beautiful love story.
When Bea and Ollie meet, it feels like fate - a fortuitous moment that they both need in their lives. The chance to find rainbows on your chosen path rather than chase them.
We’re then taken on a journey with them both - a journey filled with emotion - a journey full of love, grief, break ups and memories.
Characters fill the pages and provide such support and love to Bea and Ollie. I loved the relationships drawn in this books - Aunt Nora and Leroy just two of the important people so vibrantly described.
Emma Heatherington has written a warm and heartfelt story which provides hope, invites you in and puts its arm around you.

This was a joy to read. Perhaps predictable in many ways but a wonderful selection of characters well portrayed. Who could not like Ollie and Bea along with magical Aunt Nora. It is well depicted , atmospheric and would make a good romcom film

A chance meeting that changes our characters lives.
I new Emma would deliver the goods. She's a beautiful writer. And I was even more impressed than I predicted. And I hope this is a yearly Christmas release from her because shes one of my go-tos now. No pressure!
It's a really cute book. Where the main and side characters have key and lovely roles to play.

Last year I read This Christmas by Emma Heatherington and really enjoyed it, I found it to be a really fun Christmas romance so when I heard Emma Heatherington was releasing another Christmas book this year I knew that I definitely wanted to read it and see if she is an author who becomes one I turn to for every Christmas.
Maybe Next Christmas follows Bea and Ollie who meet when their plane back home to Ireland for Christmas is delayed but after the flight they leave as strangers until they bump into each other in London months later sparking a chain of events that neither could have predicted last Christmas.
As I’ve already mentioned I have previously read an Emma Heatherington Christmas book so kind of knew what to expect from this with the writing and characters going into it and it didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed the writing and getting to know these two characters with their different points of views and past experiences. Emma creates a really magical cosy setting that you want to visit and want to keep reading from and she also manages to have you really root for the characters throughout the story no matter the situations that they found themselves in. Once I was hooked I couldn’t stop reading desperate to know how things were going to go for Bea and Ollie by the end of the book because there wasn’t always a clear ending to be expected.
Even though this book spans an entire year it continues to have that cosy feeling that you expect from a festive book and still feels perfect for the season. Bea and Ollie were both well developed characters who both had lots going on in their lives that didn’t feel like it was just there for the plot which I definitely liked and really helped to develop how invested you were in the story and what was going to happen to the characters.
Overall I found this to be exactly what I wanted from an Emma Heatherington Christmas book that I was truly invested in wanting to know where everything was going to go. The setting was perfect, and it had a great cosy vibe with characters I truly rooted for so it was an easy 4.25 star read and I look forward to seeing if Emma Heatherington releases any more Christmas books in future years.

A tale of right place , wrong time.
Both Bea and Ollie are going through emotional times. On their journey back to Ireland for Christmas, they meet for the first time at the airport; Ollie returning to see his dying father, Bea to break up her seven year relationship with Sean. There is instant attraction, but the timing is all wrong and they leav3 without exchanging phone numbers.
This is a beautiful love story with the minor characters playing important roles. It was so easy to become invested in the fate of the main characters and emotional too.
This is a book to savour and remember. It’s lyrical references to nature and whimsical nods to Irish superstition make it a read not to be missed.

Bea meets ollie at Heathrow airport on Christmas Eve whilst waiting for a plane home.
She is going to end the relationship with her long term boyfriend and he his going home for his Dad's last Christmas.
When the plane lands they go their separate ways.
Then a chance encounter back in London brings them together again.
Will this Christmas be better for them both?

Very cute feel good book about Ollie, a nurse who is on his way home to see his ailing father, and Bea, who works in a high end hotel on her way back home to see family and to end her 7 year relationship. When a flight delay leads to the two of them connecting both of them can’t stop thinking about the other. In a story about a chance meeting that changes their life’s sometimes the one that you are looking for is the one that you don’t expect. This story is very heartwarming with a good combination of reality of how hard relationships can be with the sweetness of a true love story.
Thank you to Netgalley and to the publishers for allowing me to read this advanced copy.

A charming and heartwarming festive romance. Not just a Christmas novel but spans the year between two Christmases. Set in Ireland, focus of the homes and families of the main characters and also their busy London lives and careers. It’s a gentle story with a strong cast of supporting characters. I loved Leroy! I enjoyed and recommend this book.

I’ve have finished this INCREDIBLE book and loved Every. Single. Page! ♥️🎄
Where do I begin? Well, simply put it’s magical. Filled with beautiful descriptions & places that take you right there, walking side by side with the adorable characters we meet.
And it wouldn’t be a romcom without the perfect meet cute which happens at the airport and I instantly loved. It’s a real serendipity moment where, from that point on, you are hoping they find their way back to each other.
And, of course, the characters. Ollie & Bea are gorgeous. Both kind, funny, sensitive and so endearing you can’t help but love them. And when they are together its magic. There is sadness especially for Ollie (my heart broke for him) but love, beautiful memories and amazing family & friends shine throughout leaving you with the biggest smile possible.
And this story wouldn’t be what it is without my favourites, Aunt Nora & Leroy. Oh. My. Days. I can’t express how much I adored them. Read it, you’ll see!
Finally ~
The red box - Oh my heart.
The poem - Gorgeous
Peter Pan statue - Perfect! ♥️
There is so much more that I’m missing (I tabbed a lot!) but to tell you it would basically be telling you the story so just read it.
This has solidified Emma as an auto buy author for me. Every story is filled with love, warmth, compassion, tenderness, is heartfelt and real so much so that I was able to snuggle on my sofa with MNC and get lost in the lives of Bea & Ollie. 🥰
Beautiful & perfect all year round NOT just for Christmas!!
I’m a big softie and heartfelt romcoms like this are my idea of reading heaven. 💖
You don’t need me to explain the story, the blurb can do that. I just wanted to explain what I loved and how it made me feel.

I loved this book about two people meeting in an airport waiting for a delayed flight back to Ireland for Christmas, just very romantic!
Bea and Ollie meet when their flight home for Christmas is delayed, and end up having dinner and a long chat in the departure lounge, never expecting to see each other again. But then they end up sitting next to each other on the flight home too, so spend more time in each others company, getting closer. But they each have issues to sort out.
Bea is the manager at a small 5-star boutique hotel in Kensington and Ollie works as a nurse in a London hospital, and both really love their jobs. They are flying home to spend Christmas with their families, but Bea is also planning on breaking up with her long-term boyfriend as they have just drifted apart, and Ollie's Dad is very ill so this will be their last Christmas together.
There are some wonderful side characters, Leroy who works at the hotel, and Ollie's aunt Nora are especially lovely, as is the dog that Sarah rescued, Nana, who is now the hotel dog and spoiled by everyone.
Both Bea and Ollie's paths cross again though, once back in London, and it seems fate keeps pushing them together. They have various obstacles to overcome but get there eventually, which is never really in doubt, but it is such a lovely read getting there! Very enjoyable.

Maybe Next Christmas is a heartwarming love story that’ll be perfect to cozy up with.
The story is engaging and moves at a good pace. Although the romance between Ollie and Bea was the centre storyline I really enjoyed the grief, friendship and family based story lines too. I felt they brought another level to the story.
Speaking of Ollie and Bea, I loved getting to know these two characters! Having moved away from family myself, I was able to relate to a lot of their feelings about being away from family especially during difficult times. The supporting characters were also so so lovable!

An absolute heart warming story, I cried a lot through this, it was just so touching and beautiful. A perfect Christmas story for cosying up with. Bea and Ollie are just delightful, and I totally loved Leroy! A huge hit for me.
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Another cosy, heartwarming Christmas story from Emma Heatherington. A chance meeting at an airport - will it lead to more? I loved it.

A chance encounter at the airport one Christmas Eve sets Bea and Ollie on a path that could and should lead to romance. But like star-crossed lovers, life's challenges keep getting in the way. Will it be different next Christmas?
Another warm hug of a book from Emma Heatherington delivers everything you could want from a festive novel. - traditions, home and family, and, most importantly, romance.
Both Bea and Ollie are charming protagonists, with family and friends who complement them in their own unique ways. Heck, there's even a couple of dogs to add to the mix of characters whose stories all contribute to the plot.
The disparate backgrounds of a traditional London hotel and the country charm of an Irish village add to the atmospheric background of the story, and makes it easy for the reader to understand why Ollie and Bea both struggle to make the sacrifices necessary to be together.
There's a good element of tension running through the narrative, and a little heartbreak, too, but the overall feeling of the story is one of comfort and joy.
This book will bring warmth to your winter nights.

If you’re looking for cosy, if you’re looking for heartwarming, if you’re looking for Christmas, this is the book for you!
Bea and Ollie have a chance meeting when their flight home to Ireland at Christmas is delayed and they feel an instant and strong connection. But Bea has a boyfriend at home. And Ollie has a very sick father to focus on. Plus, they don’t exchange contact details so they have no way of getting in touch. Over the course of the next year, we see how their lives progress and whether they manage to find each other again.
While none of the plot is a surprise, this is still a lovely book. It’s a perfect Christmassy read with vivid characters and beautifully described settings. My only criticism is that some of the content and descriptions are repeated and could’ve done with a bit of further editing. But overall I really enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.
