I loved this. A short book and a quick read, but thought provoking and nearly moved me to tears in several places. And any book with a cat in, particularly one like Pumpkin, has to be read. Highly recommended.

This book was a bit different from the books I usually read. But I'd heard some great things about it so wanted to give it a go!
I was not disappointed.
For me this was a very emotional and thought provoking read. (and can't go wrong with a book that features a cat!)
If you're looking for something a little different, then pick this up. It's a short read as well so a great way to try something new!

A lovely, cosy sci-fi book for fans of Becky Chambers!

Did I automatically know I would fall in love with a book about a space archeologist/archivist who travels around with their brother and cat? Yes. I'm a sucker for a sibling relationship and am always here for spacefaring cats. What I didn't expect from this book was the deep insight into grief, selflessness, and self-discovery. Were the pacing and story a little uneven? Sure. But The Last Gifts of the Universe is a short book that packs a real emotional punch. You'll finish it in a day, but you'll be thinking about it long after.
