These recipes lack detail and it seems like “intuitive” steps for the author have been skipped and not put into writing. This cookbook is aesthetically pleasing, and I liked all the pictures of the food. The chapters organize the recipes into how long it takes to cook each recipe, which could be beneficial if you were looking for something quick to make. This cookbook seems like it could be marketed to people with less coking experience, who are looking for quick meals to put together. I just think the recipes would benefit from more details in the instructions. The pizza dough recipe would also benefit from the addition of salt.

This book is incredible. It is well set out and the recipes are easy to follow - I have tried a few out to great success. All recipes are hearty and really stay true to the idea of comfort food.

This is a book filled with winter comfort foods, homely staples that stick to the ribs and make you feel cosy and full. It is very British with hints of Indian, Italian, American and French.
The recipes are simple, easy to make, most are pretty cheap and full of flavours.
Most are also probably heavier than what I like but are perfect for the home cook that doesn't want a lot of cookbooks, doesn't want to spend a lot of time behind the stove, and needs something they can use all winter.
Can't say there is a lot of surprise for me, it's filled with the classics with only slight twists, but it's a very beautiful book and I'm sure it will become a favourite in many homes.

This cookbook offered a delightful browsing experience, with a focus on the ever-popular concept of comfort food. The sheer variety of delicious and healthy meals was indeed impressive. The time-based categorisation of recipes is a practical advantage for busy cooks. The inclusion of substitute ingredients for common allergens or unavailable items is also a thoughtful touch. While the book delivers on its promise of comfort food, a broader range of vegetarian options would have further enhanced its appeal. Ultimately, this cookbook serves its intended purpose well and merits a recommendation, particularly for those seeking familiar, satisfying meals.

Having read the book I thought whats the point, nothing original or different. But her instagram page makes me feel like maybe its just for some people a nice book to have, though I prefer her instagram.

Country Comfort is a recipe book that is broke down into how long recipes take to make (10, 20, 30, and 40 minutes). It is full of delicious food and has lots of photos. My favorite recipes are the "Can't be bothered to cook' chilli noodles, Ricotta stuffed tomato pasta, Grandparents approved carrot cake, Poppy seed, rosemary and lemon drizzle muffins, and the Cinnamon crunch cake.

Read this book if you like:
* simple comfort food that feels like a hug

Stars: 4/5

This was such a joy and inspiration to flip through. I love the concept of comfort food and having so many delicious and wholesome meals at hand is fantastic. The recipes are structured according to the time needed to prepare them, which is very helpful. I also really like that most of the recipes list substitute ingredients, in case of allergies or if something is not available. A few more vegetarian options would have been great, but the book definitely fulfills what it sets out to be. Highly recommended!

Country Comfort focuses on comforting easy and simple dinners. While the food isn’t southern delights it is all very comforting food. I quite enjoy the inclusion of simpler and less time consuming recipes for when you are in a pinch.

The Sections are
Comfort in 10
Comfort in 20
Comfort in 30
Comfort in 40
Baking everything Better
Drink Pairings

Each recipe has a brief about the recipe, servings, directions, equipment needed, directions, and any alternative ingredients. Most recipes have a beautiful picture of the dish.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am all about comfort. In my clothes, my work environment and especially my food. Comfort me please. Macaroni and cheese. Yes. Chicken quesadillas. Definitely. Comfort is my middle name. A delicious journey from start to finish.

Country Comfort is a cookbook I know I will be going back to over and over again, especially this fall! The recipes all look so cozy and decadent, and I am especially excited to try some of the pasta recipes like the carbonara, chilli noodles, and the ghnocchi bake! I also love that these recipes feel like "home' and while they aren't recipes I personally grew up with in the USA, I still feel that strong connection since I can tell the author has a lot of love for these recipes, and it makes me want to start some recipe traditions with my family using the recipes from this book. I really appreciate it being broken down into how long the recipes take to make because it helps so much with planning our meals. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous as well and look mouth-watering!

Yet another great cookbook with tasty food adn healthy to boot. The book is laid out to reflect the amount of time each recipe takes which is a unique and interesting way to write a cookbook but it works. With easy to flow instructions, photos to make you salivate and recipes you will want to make, this is a book for any keen cook and will help you to cook and eat not just healthy meals but very tasty meals as well.

This would make a great cookbook to have on your shelf as it is a book I will refer back to again and again.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a really beautifully designed and photographed cookbook. The layout is one of the better ones I've seen this year: high contrast between background color and text, simple instructions, straightforward images that truly present the dish without a lot of distraction. I definitely recommend this one if you're looking for weeknight dinners.

I’m glad I found this recipe book as the recipes all look really yummy, varied and easy to make. I like that there’s a range of different types of comfort recipes from lighter to more indulgent. I’ll definitely be giving some of these a try soon!

I love the pictures in this book and how the recipes are split into sections depending on the time it takes to cook them. Most of the recipes include ingredients easily found at the grocery store or can be grown in a home garden. Many of the dishes are similar to comfort foods my own mom made while we were growing up.

Country Comfort is a beautiful cookbook full of recipes that I can actually see myself making. I love that the recipes are organized by the amount of time they take to prepare. I'm not from the UK, but these recipes definitely look comforting and hearty and like things my picky husband and I will be able to enjoy together! The photos of the finished dishes are beautiful and the recipes are well-explained without being overly complicated and wordy.

Eeeep! this is one of the few cook books I have where I will be trying at least 70% of the recipes featured.

I haven't seen Hari's videos before but she's got a new follower :)

I'm curious why there were 1-2 recipes in each section that were missing a photo (ie: my chopped Cobb salad and spring asparagus & blue cheese). I've seen other cook books do this and am wondering if maybe they're recipes that were added last minute?

ps. I didn't love the picture of the live chickens in the midst of all the chicken recipes LOL

My mom and her whole family are from the UK, so a lot of the meals in here are comfort meals I grew up on, maybe a bit grown up, which was perfect for me. The leftover rainbow pinwheels took me right back to my mom making them for game days.

I loved the division of recipes that could be done in 10/20/30/40 minutes. On a day you're in a rush or are exhausted, you don't want to spend time thumbing through the book looking for something that fits your schedule. Having that designated as certain sections is really helpful.

Including substitution options on the page is helpful and saves the hassle of thinking which ways to change a dish for your family's preferences. As someone who is a more experienced home chef, this is something I've mastered, but I think is good for people just getting into cooking. This is a simple and easy starting guide, but still full of good, filling food.

I personally believe images can make or break a cookbook, since we so often eat with our eyes first in the era of Pinterest recipes and endless pictures of food on social media. The images in here are beautiful and really underline the comfort aspect.

I will absolutely be ordering a personal copy of "Country Comfort" as well as copies for all of our library branches. This cookbook is put together perfectly with cuisine from around the globe presented in an approachable and intriguing way. My husband and I tried the one-pot Salmon curry and the Gnocchi Bake and both were DELICIOUS. The photographs included with the recipes are gorgeous and made me want to try every dish in the book.

I loved that the recipes were organized by the time it would take to prepare the dishes. I don't think that's an approach that I've seen before, and I was SO impressed with the amount of flavor and the complexity of dishes that Beavis shows readers how to prepare in 40 minutes or less. Her attention to detail meant that the 10 minute dishes seemed just as appetizing and worth making as the 40 minute dishes.

I have no doubt that Country Comfort will become a modern classic, used in kitchens around the world by cooks looking for a comforting meal that goes beyond the expected. Special thanks to NetGalley and to Carnival for providing an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for an unbiased review. I cannot wait to try the remaining recipes!!
