I was really looking forward to reading this book, but was a little upset that I could not download it onto my kindle, so reading it on my laptop was not the easiest. However I did really enjoy the layout of the book and the visual appeal of it, I do feel it recovered a lot of information that I had previously read around this topic, but it was a good recap.

I really wanted to read this book, how ever it cant be down loaded to mu kinde and could read it. I'm really sad about that too because I have Anxiety and depression and would have like the help

For anyone who has ever read a book about managing anxiety and depression before, there is nothing particularly groundbreaking in this one. It emphasises the importance of good diet, plenty of sleep, plenty of fresh air and exercise, practising mindfulness. It sets out some CBT techniques, which is an extremely successful method of controlling the damaging thought patterns that characterise anxiety and depression. But the illustrations in this book are beautiful and really lifted it above your run of the mill guide. Please do yourself a favour and use one of those as the cover art rather than the current picture, which is fine but not nearly so beautiful and eye catching.

Overcoming Anxiety and Depression by Lillyin Love is a self-help book sharing practical strategies and benefits in the long term to improve your mental health.
This is one of those books that would be handy to have as a printed copy on your hands! This is not the sort of book you read from cover to cover and then put on the shelf.
The inside art in this book is insane! So it's disappointing is not used on the book cover!
Any of the opening chapter pictures would attract more attention to this book than the current cover.
Probably do another edition with a stunning art cover using one of the inside pictures!
As we can imagine it is hard to write anything original about depression and anxiety as feels like there is already everything out there! What I liked in this book was the practical excesses. They could be printed out as cards that we could carry in our handbag and use when we feel stressed or overwhelmed!
I like how the book explains the benefits of different techniques. It's easy to understand and it kind of makes you wish to try and that is a positive!
If you have a real desire to work on improving your mental health this could become your personal therapist and you would save hundreds! As I already mentioned, this book is so practical! It's not just "let's talk about everything and nothing", this book gives you practical techniques starting from working with your brain, relaxing, eating well and exercising!
The only reason I will not give 5 stars is cover! I am sorry but seeing gorgeous inside, I can't look on that outside!

I would have liked this book more if I could read the beginnings of the meditations, visualizations… they are printed over the beginning picture & I can’t read any of them… Very disappointing. #OvercomingAnxietyandDepression #NetGalley.

I'm afraid this was too basic for me. I felt the content could have been found in a few google searches and wasn't enlightening enough. Apologies.
