A beautiful book, equal parts informative and inspiring for both expert and newbie gardeners. I wish I lived in England and not in California so I could use this book more.

My oldest daughter is very much into gardening just like I, but needed a book to reference by. What I think this helps make this a 5 star read is the pictures, and descriptions is easy to read for all ages. I love how it included the different seasons but also with visuals making in more inviting and easy to look at. Not only does it go over plants, but also herbs, insects, when to harvest, plants of the season and month. My kids loved the idea of attracting the different insects, and there is a whole section on bees! Without bees we have no food so I believe we should have them showcased as much as possible! My kids are really excited to start our fall and winter garden that we already planted some seeds! But also they want to attract some different insects to try to draw! This books is excellent for those learning kids, for added homeschool curriculum.

This book was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The information was super accessible and deeply fascinating, I don't have a garden but I have a whole lot of heart and a windowsill, this book made me want to try my hand at houseplants. This was easily my favorite read of the month. Whether you're a first time gardener or a seasoned professional this book is for you, it also has moon phases if you're a green witch, so there truly is something for everyone; I particularly enjoyed the horticultural hero spotlights which on their own would have been magnificent but there was queer representation which elevated an already excellent section. Honestly this book was a pleasure to read and hopefully I will get to read the others in the years to come

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A really helpful and informative book for any budding gardener.

I really loved this book, which I will certainly be buying upon release.

Divided into 12 monthly chapters it offers tailored guidance each month including steps to be taken in your garden, monthly rainfall stats and much more.

It felt easy to read, was jam packed with helpful tips on things such as when best to prune certain plants, how to catch rainwater and so much more.

I enjoyed that it also included information each month on wildlife as well.

With beautiful colours and vivid photographs- this is sure to be a real hit with gardeners old and new.

Thank you NetGalley for this free advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a lovely book with a focus on plants, gardens, and gardening throughout the year with the 12 chapters broken up by month beginning with January, as it explores the winter flowers, such as witch hazel and sweet box, and snowdrops.

As in each month there are suggestions on what to do in your garden, depending on the month. There are also suggestions for each month to take on a garden related project.

Beyond that, this includes the projected times by location (although the location is set in London and Edinburgh), the projected Moonrise and moonset, as well as the Average Rainfall.

If nothing else, this is such a beautiful illustrated book, but it is literally filled with photographs of not only fruits, vegetables, etc., but also of the native wildlife, when to plant, as well as how to deal with how to protect your plants from insects, etc, ideas for seasonal planting, as well as horticultural heroes, which I can’t recall seeing in any of my gardening books.

Seasonally speaking, this is somewhat dependent on location, in terms of what plants to plant, when to plant them, and your location, but there is a month by month section sharing what to do in that month, as well as tips on pruning.

One of the things that caught my eye is a ‘project’ on capturing rainwater, which is something that sounds like a wonderful project, along with how to create a flower meadow. But there is an abundance of ideas to choose from, for those who enjoy gardening. This also includes a recommended list of plants, by the month, as well as a recommended project for those who enjoy spending time adding their own creative touch to a garden.
A lovely garden almanac to enjoy with beautiful photographs, and illustrations.
