An amazing, fast-paced mystery thriller, with lots of twists and turns, “Track Her Down”, by Melinda Leigh, is also a wonderful chance to meet again the compelling characters gravitating in sheriff’s Bree Taggert professional and personal spheres.
The story is full of surprises until the end. It’s one of the most engaging books I’v read lately in the Bree Taggert series.
The characters exhibit vulnerability, fears, showing they’re human. They are complex, nuanced; the villains aren’t completely nasty or evil. Even the animals show their peculiar personalities.
I loved meeting again Bree’s family, friends and the people in her work circle. The healing process in the family is showing its effects. The love, affection, respect between them is heartwarming.
I enjoyed how the relationship between the main romantic couple, Bree and Matt, is progressing.
I particularly adored the attraction between Renata and Adam; Renata is downright funny. I expect they will be a couple in the future because the initial interaction was delicious
I also enjoyed the evolution in Jager’s character and in the personal and work relationship with Bree.

ARC Review

I am so happy I was able to get an ARC through Netgalley - THANK YOU!!

This one pulled me in right from the start! I started the Bree Taggert series a couple years ago and was immediately hooked! This one had such an intriguing storyline filled with twists and turns that the reader will keep guessing until the end!

Can't wait for the next one!!

Another great book in the Sheriff Bree Taggert series. I love how each book picks right up at the end of the previous story and continues on. This one was full of twists and I certainly didn't anticipate the final twist!

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was my first Bree Taggert novel and it will not be my last. The story begins when Claire discovers her parents brutally murdered when she arrives home from work one night.. The two are work from home lawyers and don't have any known enemies. Who would possibly want to murder this normal, white collar couple?
The story kept me on my toes and kept me guessing the entire time. It's part of a series but I haven't read any of the other books. I think it can be read as a stand alone, although I'm sure there are little spoilers as far as how the stories of the main characters progress throughout the series.
This book has all the twists, turns, and red herrings you want in a psychological thriller. Go read it!

I am a long-time reader of Melinda Lee's work. and "Track Her Down" is a very good addition to the Bree Taggert series. It's been fun over the course of the series to see the ways in which so many of the characters change and grow. I really enjoyed the addition of Renata Zucco, but I missed Dana a bit in this story. She seems to have been less a part of the last few books, and I was hoping she would be coming back as a larger presence this time around. I was glad to read a little bit more of Adam's character, too, and am hopeful he will be making more appearances in the future.

I had no idea who was behind the murders until almost the time in the book when it was finally revealed, which I love. There's nothing worse than knowing who did it well before the author wanted you to figure things out. The Mason family backstory was intriguing, and Claire's storyline was very easy to empathize with. I am looking forward to see what happens next at the sheriff's department.

Thank you to NetGalley, Melinda Leigh, and Montlake for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

*** Review will be posted on Instagram, Goodreads, and blog on January 1, 2025. I will return and post review links at that time.***

Sheriff Bree Taggert is investigating the brutal murder of a husband and wife in their bed. They were found by their seventeen year old daughter who is severely traumatized by the discovery.
During the investigation, many secrets are uncovered.

Another great police procedural by Melinda Leigh. Action and twists the whole way through!
The main characters are like old friends, their back stories revealed in previous books.

I whole heartedly recommend this book.

Thanks to Netgalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a very emotionally charged book. There are twists and turns that take you on a roller coaster ride. There is so much suspense. I was on the edge of my seat a couple of times. This is an incredible series. I love how the characters are all moving forward and slowly healing over time. k has lovely writing. It’s a funny and heartwarming story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I will forever recommend this author and this series! (& her other series too while I'm at it!) Melinda Leigh has a way of sucking you into the story right out of the gate. She makes you care about the characters . She also makes you suspicious of everyone involved! With that said, I did not see the twist coming! It was so good! Definitely recommend!

Another great read by Melinda Leigh. I really like Sherif Bree and all rest of the department. This was a really twisty story, definitely didn’t see that ending coming. Even felt a little less nasty about the ‘boss’ in this one, maybe she’ll be nicer to Bree after this!!

Melinda Leigh has written and so thoroughly grown Sheriff Bree Taggert, with each book, Bree is tested and shown how she's matured whilst maintaining her strength and kindness. In Track Her Down, Bree is investigating a sighting of an alligator in northern New York. Bree's not sure what to think - during that call she's radioed to the scene of a double homicide. Someone has murdered the Masons - and their daughter, Claire, found them. Whilst trying to work this case, and keep Claire safe, Bree is side by side with her partner in life and work, Matt Flynn. They realize the Masons were not who they seemed, and begin to unravel the puzzle of their murder. In addition, Bree also needs to deal with the City Commissioner, Ms. Jager, who is seems unusually helpful with this case (oh, and she may have seen the alligator, too). Track Her Down is flippin' fabulous! Thank you to Ms. Leigh and Montlake publishing for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

Sheriff Bree Taggert is called to the scene of a double murder and the adventure begins. This was a super twisted investigation that has a shocking ending that you will never see coming. Matt is back with Bree on the case as the danger mounts. This series just gets better with each new installment and waiting for the next book is not easy but I know it will definitely be worth the wait.

Track Her Down by Melinda Leigh. Another interesting and intriguing case for Bree and her team to solve. Was surprised at the twist in the end. Enjoy learning more about the backstories of the team. The cases and characters keeping getting better and better. This is one of my favorite detective series and always look forward to more books.
Thank you to Melinda Leigh, Montlake , and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Wow! This was such a compelling tale. This is the tenth installment in the Bree Taggert series’s. I know when I sit down to read a Melinda Leigh book I won’t be doing anything else until I finish and that was definitely true with this book.
This time Bree and her team are investigating a double homicide, but the victims are not who they seem, so the investigation becomes quite complicated. I enjoyed that we got to know more about Deputy Zucco. This mystery was filled with action and I never expected the twist at the end!

Mysterious victims and gripping action result in excellent suspense!

Sheriff Bree Taggert responds to the scene of a horrific murder in Grey’s Hollow, NY. Clair Mason a teenager returns home to find her parents shot to death in their bed. The Sheriff determines that this is not a robbery gone wrong but a deliberate execution. Who were the Masons and who had motive to kill them?

Bree and Matt Flynn are in a race to determine why the Masons were targeted and who is now after their daughter. Stymied by too many suspects and insufficient solid leads they are desperate for a break in the case. It comes as an unbelievable twist to the story!

In this 10th book in the series, Bree and Matt are settling into family life with her niece and nephew. This case makes them juggle their home and professional lives. Young deputy Juarez is still on modified duties from being shot by a serial killer. While on desk duties he contributes his investigative skills. We learn more about Deputy Renata Zucco who plays a larger role this time. After working for the NYPD, she returns to care for her mom who has cancer.

I love how Leigh incorporates the investigators' personal lives into the story. Even Bree’s nemesis, county administrator Madeline Jager, shows her human side. Bree Taggert is a strong capable woman, an excellent sheriff, and a loving aunt. The characters in this series are very warmly drawn. I was rooting for them the whole way through the book! This novel has twists and turns, surprising wildlife encounters and suspenseful action. What are you waiting for? Go track down this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the digital ARC!

I was so excited to catch up with Bree Taggert.
As usual, the story sucked me right in. There has been a double murder and Bree is left with the task of informing 17 year old Claire that her parents are gone. This transports Bree back to her own childhood trauma and Bree feels protective of Claire.

Melinda Leigh always does a great job keeping me engaged in the story. I am not thinking ahead trying to solve the mystery because I’m right there with Bree as she investigates. Although this is part of a series, you could read it as a standalone. The great part about reading the series is that the reader sees the growth Bree has had personally, professionally, and in her relationship with Matt.

Track her Down is a fast paced thriller that you will devour in one sitting. Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another fantastic visit with Bree Taggert. And honestly I never saw that twist at the end coming. What a fast paced crime thriller. These characters keep growing and making us invested. I am looking forward to more. This series has fast become a favorite.

Sheriff Taggert is called to a double homicide with a gruesome scene. A teenage daughter found the couple and called for help, she’s bloody, upset and has nowhere to go.
As Bree and her team gather evidence and help the young girl someone is still lurking and taking shots at them. They must be getting close.
Or maybe there’s another reason…
Nothing is as it seems and the twists will be fast.
Don’t miss this one and if you’ve never read any Bree Taggert stories get busy.

Highly recommend this.

Thank you #netgalley #montlake # trackherdown for this ARC

This is a five-star read in a series filled with five-star reads that just get better and better. The more we get to know Bree and her family chosen and blood, the stronger the feeling you get for how she will find the right person in the end. This was such a twist filled story, you have some you see, and then some more that you just don’t, they pop up and you are like where did that come from, you have the rug pulled so many times you are always kept guessing in such a great manner. This author manages to bring so many elements to the story, the attention to detail, even down to a bottle. Do not miss this amazing story, in a series that just goes from strength to strength.
