Second runaway bride trope I read, I swear to god I didn't mean to look for them; they follow me! ... And they just so happen to be good.

This is very rom-com-like; I personally very much enjoy prompts where the couple meet in a ridiculous/cartoonish way; it's a book, people! Our main characters, Ben and Hope, just so happen to have a meet-cute when Ben is taking a hike at the same time that Hope takes the rapid decision to ditch her soon-to-be husband at the altar. As well as dealing with shenanigans and sweetness, I Do With You deals with the theme of how the right person can help you better yourself up, not for others but for yourself, and the way Ben and Hope leaned into each other for support was really cute. I loved it.

If you don't quite like smut, then I think you would better turn around and skip this one, but even though I'm not much of a spice person myself, I didn't skip anything. The writing was not cringe, nor were the spice scenes bothersome to me. Perfect for a cosy, sweet afternoon read.

spoiler alert ** When Hope arrives at her wedding, she is uncertain. But when her groom Roy says his vows, Hope knows it not what is right for her and bolts away. Running into the forest she runs into a man, Ben who takes her back to his cottage.

As Hope explains what she did, Ben doesn’t think she did anything wrong. He supports what she did and encourages her to contact her sister.

However Roy isn’t happy about what happened and is looking for Hope. Hope knows she is doing what’s right.

However, the feelings the Ben gives her while she stays with him definitely shows she is right. And what happens behind those doors definitely feel really right for Hope and Ben too.

Moving forward for them has some issues that pop up but they are both strong and determined to live their lives the way it should be.

I received a copy of this book from #netgalley for a honest free review of this book.

good romance and finding oneself. Love that it was told in ben and hope's point of views. loved her parents and the town. I would love to see a joy book or even a sean or they could even get together.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but unfortunately I ended up DNF at about 56% :( I’m wondering if I Do With You was just a bit too corny of a romcom for me.

I think one of my main issues that ruined the book for me was the insta love. I know that some people like insta love and I’ve always been impartial to it. However, Hope literally ran into Ben in the woods and decided he was a trust worthy person that she might be able to stay with. I know that not every book will be super realistic, but Hopes actions here felt naive and immature to me.

I also was not a huge fan of Ben. He seemed far too much like a Prince Charming than a human person. He seemed to say all of the right things and get along with all of the right people and seemed to have absolutely no faults. By chapter 3, Ben had monologues telling Hope (who he just met) how amazing and strong she was and that she shouldn’t be thanking him for basic human decency. While these are all true, it felt kind of like a “nice-guy” ploy and a bit too corny for my taste.

There were a lot of moments where I was cringing so hard at how cheesy or corny it was. “Hamburger-help-me,” “Because it sounds like he needs a two-piece wake-up call. One-two, ding-ding, motherfucker,” ““I do know that you’re the prettiest train wreck I’ve ever seen, with fireworks and glitter instead of a twisted metal disaster,” “Shut the fu-cupcakes,” and a second “hamburger-help-me,” all had me internally and externally cringing. Additionally (I know this is definitely controversial) Ben serenading Hope and writing all these lyrics after her was weirding me out. For this, it’s just my personal opinion, but the idea of being serenaded makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Just not my cup of tea.

I think the scene that ultimately made me decide to stop reading was when Hope laughed at the word vagina for about a whole page. A vagina is not a funny word, it is human anatomy. An adult woman should not be giggling about a normal anatomical word. This scene pushed me over the edge.

I think a better audience for I Do With You would be somebody looking for a very very light hearted romance. Readers who enjoy insta-love, small town romances, and corny love will probably enjoy I Do With You!

The premise if this book is super cute. A dentist and a rock star have a meet cute when she is a runaway bride from her wedding. I thought this was a cute, light read. I did feel like there were some gaps in backstory or making characters three dimensional. I did like the connection between the characters and enjoyed their flirtation. The instalove trope was a little much for me, but overall was a light, quick, read.

Although I have enjoyed other books by this author, this book was not for me and I stopped reading about halfway through. It didn’t keep my attention, which is too bad because the tropes sounded fun. The dialogue could have benefited from additional editing and just sounded a bit immature and hard to take seriously. I expected a light hearted read but it was too over the top. I don’t think I made it as far as the spice, but it is open door so it will appeal to fans of that type of romance. If you enjoy a quick read with a runaway bride trope, hidden identity, small town, and lots of steam, you might love this one!

Thank you to Lauren Landish and Montlake Publishing for the arc. I appreciate the opportunity even if it wasn’t the right fit for me!

Hope and Ben's story is so funny I kept wanting more. It was funny, full of soooo much drama and love. Hope runs away from her high school sweetheart at the altar and runs like flees into the woods where she runs into Ben. A complete stranger someone she's never met.! Ben was on a hike and all of a sudden a Bride is in front of him. He is visiting a small town to get inspiration for his new Album and never expected to find love.

Wonderfully funny, but who can't resist the speculation of why a bride runs away from the alter, and when Hope hikes up her dress and sprints to the woods it's definitely not a bear chasing her. Small towns and all bets are in. While Hope thinks everyone is going to hate her for leaving her clueless ex at the alter, she is surprised by how many truly support her, like her for who she is not because she was on the arm of the Sheriff's son.

Self awareness, self esteem, and a bit of an unexpected romance this runaway bride finds her inner strength, her sass and so much more. But don't forget the silent knight in shining armor who stands by her during this self-discovery, His secrets and troubles are lurking in the closet, until a trip to jail brings them all to his doorstep. Awesome characters, that you will fall in love with, be aware of unexpected gafaws of laughter escaping from you, and melt with a most unexpected HEA that befits this unconventional pair.

I absolutely love Ben and Hope's story. It's fast-paced and a true rollercoaster of emotions that had me giggling, holding my breath and swooning time and time again.
It's a romantic yet twisted and complicated story where the two protagonists are at a crossroads in their lives, one on the run from her future planned out to a tee, the other needing to get his life back on track while keeping his identity a secret, but then they both unexpectedly fall in love with each other ...
I Do With You is a fun and entertaining read that I devoured from start to finish.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Montlake Romance and the author for providing a review copy.

This is the 1st story in the Maple Creek series where Hope a dental hygienist finds herself on her wedding day listening to her doubt and runs away during her vows into the woods running into a stranger, Ben whose surprised to have a runaway bride bump into him. Ben offers Hope a safe place to hide away in his cabin in her small hometown where everyone knows your business. Ben is a musician trying to come to terms with his relationship with his best friend/fellow band mate with their constant fighting. During their growing friendship and falling in love her ex is constantly trying to get Hope back by all means but with Ben’s support Hope learns to stand up for herself and show him that they do not belong together. The towns people are either on Team Hope or not so it’s interesting to see how those opinions help Hope believe in herself and becoming a stronger woman. They develop into a relationship of love with support of her family, especially her twin sister so when Ben’s friend comes and blows up their relationship by sharing his secret does Hope fall apart taking Ben’s chance at finding happiness. Hope shuts down and Ben leaves heartbroken. When an unexpected chance to heal Hope takes a leap of faith to see what Ben’s life is all about and allowing her heart to heal. This cute story with humor, growing pains and self discovery will have you believing in Hope…

At times the story did seem outlandish 😂 but overall I really really liked the story and the way it all pulled together. And the character development and growth we saw in Hope especially but even Ben too. Have to say it was the most random meet cute I’ve read And liked in a while as so many meet cute plots are the same old tropes in romance books.

Ben is such a good man. He never filters in taking care and holding Hope up while she finds herself. The bond these two form is so sweet and I loved how it developed

Hope Barlowe thinks she is ready for marriage, kids, a house and a dog until she panics right before the ceremony and makes a run for it. When she runs, she runs right into Ben Taylor, a musician on a nature retreat. Ben quickly falls head over heels while Hope is searching for herself. Will their blossoming relationship be able to survive?

Oh my goodness this was the cutest book! I loved their whole relationship, their banter, and their sizzling chemistry! This is a perfect fun read!

I always find runaway bride trope in books to be fun.

Tropes:
Strangers to Lovers
Runaway bride
Celebrity romance
Small town
OM drama
Third Act break up
Spice :3

At first I was very intrigued and entertained by the story. Hope’s inner monologues are funny. Ben at the very first meet is smitten by her and he is a total softie. However I didn’t find it realistic. Who lets a stranger stay with them together at the first meet and goes out of their way to help??
I found some scenes funny and cute. Their journey of self discovery was another thing I liked. Other than that i didn’t find anything interesting in the story. The main characters didn’t have chemistry. The smut was good but felt over the top and unnecessary.
At the end I didn’t like the third act break-up, I feel Its an over reaction on part of Hope.
Overall it’s a fun and cute read.

Thank you Montlake and NetGalley for my ARC

This was my first Lauren Landish and she reminded me a bit of Elsie Silver and Lauren Asher, but with her own unique twist.

With this book, you can expect romance, a heavy dose of 🌶️ and a quirky small town. Hope is a runaway bride who runs into (quite literally) Ben, an undercover famous metal (yes, like heavy metal) musician on a hiatus.

It was a truly unique premise and the spice was SPICY. A fun, light read!
