“Because I’m the best you’ve ever had, Fitz.”
“The best what?”
“You’ll see.”

I feel like this book is the phrase “when you know, you know” blended perfectly with “perfect person, I think I don’t deserve them.” I’d explain that further, but I think you should just read From Air and you’ll get it. A travel nurse, Jamie, moves to Montana for her latest assignment. Moves in to a house with three friends who are in different parts of the firefighting field. Will is funny and owns the house, Maren is the best and so sweet, and Fitz, well he’s Fitz. There’s one main rule and that’s don’t sleep with your roommates or you’re out. That seems easy, but also not since Will made the rule and Fitz is closed off and kind of rude, but there’s just something there with him from the start. ANYWAY, enough plot. Just know From Air is emotional, it’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s frustrating, it has some heavy themes woven within, and it’s just an all around great read. It has the usual Jewel relationships and storylines that keep you guessing until the end, but it also has a sweet found family ease and healing journeys you’ll find yourself rooting for. Glad to see this is a series, so we can see more of these characters falling in love.

This is a sweet read. You rooted for Jamie and Fitz the whole time. Jamie is going through the loss of her mom. She’s a travel nurse and takes an assignment in Missoula. She moves into a house share with three roommate. Fitz has been through a tragic loss. He has himself closed off to the world. It’s so fun to see Jamie insert herself into Fitz’s world.

I will say the ending where she says he can’t say anything bad about her dad doesn’t seem fair to Fitz. Her dad is the cause of his tragic loss. I don’t think she gives as much thought to that as she should.

From Air follows Jamie, a travel psychiatric nurse who moves to Montana into a house with three roommates, all first responders. Fitz, a firefighter, is one of those roommates and is ten years older than Jamie.

When chemistry develops between them, they have to keep quiet because there's a strict no dating rule between the roommates. Fitz is also very emotionally closed off (due to the loss he's suffered), which SPOILER ALERT.........ends up connecting their background stories together. This connection, which was revealed towards the end, was a bit too intense to me, and I personally think the story could've done without it.

Although this didn't totally work for me, I may give book two a go. I do like the first responders + roommates set up.

Cws: mental illness, death of loved ones

Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for the e-ARC, all opinions are my own.

Jewel E. Ann proves once again that she can't write a bad book—it's impossible!

I jumped into this one without even glancing at the synopsis because I know I’m in for an unforgettable ride when it comes to her books. Once again, she wrote a book I couldn’t put down. Usually, I keep track of how much of the book is left or how much time I have remaining on my Kindle, but with this one, I turned those off—I didn’t want it to end and would’ve been sad to see the finish line approaching.

The story revolves around Jaymes and Calvin (aka Fitz), two people brought together as roommates under strict "house rules" to stay away from each other. Fitz has serious walls up, and Jaymes is told he’s not one to let people in. But the undeniable attraction between them is instant. Their witty banter is hilarious and soon turns into a friendship—a secret kinship, really.

Jaymes is a sweet and free-spirited character eager to live life to the fullest. Montana is her first stop in traveling the country. Fitz, on the other hand, is closed off and determined to keep his distance. But their chemistry is undeniable, and the spark between them is impossible to ignore.

The book has a delightful grumpy/sunshine vibe, and the twist that comes is something I never saw coming! I loved every moment of this story and can’t wait for everyone to meet Jaymes, Fitz, and the incredible cast of characters.

Jewel E. Ann is a masterful storyteller, and her writing in this book is flawless.

Jamie and Calvin were great together. The grumpy sunshine trope was done well, with grumpy Calvin showing many signs of a wonderful heart underneath, throughout the story, keeping me rooting for them. Pasta ride up to prevent an easy HEA but once they resolve some issues, my smiles were genuine. What a sweet story. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an early read.

This book is absolutely consuming the moment you begin to the second you turn the last page. I wish I could say you feel satisfied by the end, but I will admit, I just want the next book. I already started searching for the following one, just to find out I have to wait until March. UGH! Jamie and Fitz took over my heart. Jewel simply captivates my heart with her characters. Each time she makes me believe she will never be able to do it again, yet she does. She has a power with words and she simply makes me believe in love each time with the beauty she puts on paper. Thank you for this powerful, beautiful story of finding forever when it felt like it was lost in some characters that felt broken. I absolutely felt my heart bursting for both the characters. I fell in love with both of them and I wanted to hug them through my e-reader. You will not regret this read. Dive in. It's a ride you won't regret!

From Air, book 1 in the new Wildfire series by Jewel E. Ann, was really good.

Jaymes, 'Jamie' Andrews is a traveling nurse, specializing in psychiatric nursing. She wants to see the world before she settles down, and being a traveling nurse clicks all the boxes for her. Optimistic and open, her newest position takes her to Montana where she scores a shared housing place to stay while there. She is leaving Miami where she grew up after her mother died and needs to spread her wings.

Calvin 'Fitz' Fitzgerald is broken. Losing his parents and sister in a tragic accident, he doesn't want to get involved with anyone, especially his new roommate...there are even house rules about that! He is a smoke jumper, so puts his life on the line every time he is called out. He wants no one to grieve for him once he's gone. He knows from experience how hard that is.

Their covert relationship heats up, and when Jamie leaves for her next temporary post, they realize they want to move forward, even if it's long distance.

Jamie's new position is in Southern California and she keeps getting mistaken by one resident as a relation. This opens up a Pandora's box of coincidences that come full circle and involve both Jamie and Fitz. Both of their lives are upended.

This was one of the best plot twists I've ever read! Once I got to this point in the book I could not put it down. Can Fitz and Jamie put the past behind them and look to the future or will actions by people now gone doom their relationship?

Thank you to Jewel E. Ann, NetGalley & Montlake for this brilliant ARC.

This is the third book I’ve read by Jewel and she writes romance so beautifully. This book was one I did not want to end. Jamie & Fitz are so wonderfully written as the two main characters in this story. She a young travel nurse and he a smoke jumper (a profession I knew nothing about until now!) 10 years her senior.

Jamie is so strong, intelligent and feisty. Fitz was moody, witty and sexy. I wasn’t expecting the twists and turns in this story and the range of emotions involved in their complicated and growing romance.

I don’t want to spoil it at all but if you’re into romance but also love a good and moving story with a little bit of suspense and mystery then this one is for you.

Coming to Kindle unlimited in November!

Another Amazing Read by the wonderful Jewel E Ann. Her books are always so incredible and are always a 4-5 stars for me and this one hands down another 5 stars. I read this in a day and I could not put it down. I was hooked from page one and I already miss this story. I had No idea how much I was going to love Jaymes and Fitz aka Calvin in this book. They were PERFECT. I loved Jayme's character, She was hilarious yet so down to earth. Parts of the story made me laugh on things she said. Then you have Fitz aka Calvin. Someone you weren't sure you were going to like in the beginning but end up loving him SO MUCH. You feel an instant connection with both characters and you do through out the whole story. You grow with them and you wont want to stop growing with them when the story ends.

Please read this book, it will not disappoint you. I promise. You will want to re-read it over again someday because I sure know I will.

My first experience with this author didn't go very well. I wouldn't say it was outrageously bad, but it was apparently bad enough to put me on her PR's blacklist so I haven't had the chance to put one of her titles on my radar for a while but Montlake came to the rescue and now I feel really bad for all of you that have to wait for this frikkin' story!!

I am so glad I finally got my second chance with this author! This was a thousand times more than I expected, based on my previous experience, and my heart is very happy about it.

Full RTC closer to release :)

The anxiety is real whenever I start a book from this author as I know I'm not going to come out the other side unscathed, but I wouldn't trade reading her words for anything as her stories are pure gold.

From Air was such a fantastic twist of fate story, a mixture of pleasure, pain, heartache and happiness. A good dose of witty banter and smoking smexy times kept me riveted to each and every chapter.

From the moment Fritz and Jamyes meet there's friction, fascination and flirting, they get off on provoking each other and verbally sparring in the most seductive ways. I seriously laughed my ass off at times.

I absolutely loved this book and the slow burning romance between The Smoke Jumper and his Beacon Of Light was all consuming and unforgettable. ❤

I can't wait for the other characters to get their stories, especially Will. 🤞

From Air is a wonderful read. I loved this one so much. This is a grumpy sunshine read with a lot of healing and hidden past. Jaime is a traveling nurse ready to see new things. She never imagined the bonds she would form along the way. Calvin is a smoke jumper who does not let many close. He has his reasons and as you get to know him he is not the grump he comes off as. He has this side that will pull you in. Jaime finds so much you did not know about her life and you feel the emotions she goes through. There is this wonderful pull between Calvin and Jaime from the very beginning that sets into motion of new beginnings and healing. I loved this one so much. You need to click this today.

This was my first book by Jewel E Ann and it was everything I expected based on reviews I have seen of her other books. An age gap, grumpy/sunshine romance where the two main characters keep their relationship a secret from their housemates. Jamie is a nurse who finds herself drawn to Calvin, a firefighter a decade older than her, when she moves in with several firefighters. As their relationship progresses, they both discover that their mutual secret is not the only one threatening to pull them apart.

Thank you NetGallary for an early review copy of From Air!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Absolute Fire 🔥! This is a beautiful gut wrenching story that will stay with me for a very long time!

This is a beautiful breath of fresh air of a five-star read. It has taken me a week to write this review, I’ve started it so many times, but I haven’t been able to put into words just how powerful this story was, I made the mistake of reading this while listening to another wonderful story on audiobook and they both blew me away, I have been an emotional wreck, as the story just keeps giving and giving, there are twists and emotional roller coasters that have you wondering if you can keep going, but you have to this is just that good. Its so good I cant put into words how much you will love it, even though it may break you.

As one of my favorite authors, Jewel E Ann never ceases to amaze me. From Air is another example of her phenomenal style of storytelling. Her writing is on a level of its own. I always look forward to reading anything she writes. The character development is beautifully done. The plot and narrative are superb in this story. As cliché as this may sound, I couldn’t put this book down!

“She’s the breathtaking horizon. The canopy that slows my fall. The perfect place to land. She’s the quietude after the last flame dies.”

I truly was mesmerized by this story of loss, secrets, pain and the ultimate love.
Calvin/Fitz and Jaymes/Jamie’s banter was laced with humor and underlying feelings from each of them that jumped off the pages with witty repartee. What they each had experienced in their lives and held within came to light in such a well developed manner that I was held captivated by each and every aspect of their story. The secondary characters were introduced and added a meaningful element that I hope will further develop into their own stories!

I highly recommend this book and eagerly anticipate more from JEA in The Wildfire Series!

I feel like every book I read by this author sucks you in and again I couldn't put this one down! The banter and sexual tension between the MCs was 10/10. Loved all the side characters and I hope there's another book in the series!

With each amazing new release Jewel E. Ann puts out, I continue to wonder how she manages to top herself each time. From Air is definitely one of my favorite books of the year and I would give this 6 stars if I could - all the angst and emotion I’ve come to love from JEA and so much heart.

What a story!!
