I just read book one not too long ago and did not expect to be browsing Netgalley and come across book two already. I could not wait to read this so I devoured it, obviously.
The world building is insane, we've got vampires, magic, some other supernaturals and a dead religion with dead Gods. Book one left so many unanswered questions and we finally get some answered but, we're also left with more new questions. So many twists and turns, I'm still shooketh from trying to keep up. 😂
I was so happy to get more insight into Aileen's past and even more insight into who Ragnor is. I wanted more from him after book one and boy did I get it. And Aileen! I was so mad how in the last one she kept jumping into Ragnor's arms even after he'd be a jerk even though this girl was fierce and had a backbone of steel so I was elated when he came around again she stood her ground even though she was having inner turmoil. She made him grovel and I ate it up. I love when a man needs to grovel and Ragnor perfected it. Their relationship grew so much more in this book and honestly getting the bit more backstory on Ragnor explained more of his character and his connection to Aileen and why he would treat her poorly.
And that epilouge?! I gasped. Just when I thought we wouldn't get any more huge plot twists we get a bomb of one on Ragnor's origins. I need the next book already. 🤭 Saphir this story is amazing - your world building is incredible and I'm excited for more.
Fun read! I love the romantic tension and strong female lead. Gives a new "bite" to the romance genre
I read Sapir A. England’s second installment of Cloak of the Vampire and loved reading this mesmerizing story that ends on a cliffhanger. This story had a fair amount of spice that left you panting after Rayne. I can’t wait to see what the next installment has in store!
A thrilling continuation filled with passion and intrigue! This second instalment in the series dives deeper into a world of magic and desire. The writing skilfully blends romance with captivating plot twists, leaving me eager for more. A five-star sequel that delivers on all fronts and I can’t wait for more.
Thank you, Netgalley and Sapir A. Englard for the eARC!
Rating - 4/5 🌟
Spice - 🌶. 5
I was so happy that this book was available for an ARC, with how book one ended! I drove right in and finished it within 1 day!
I felt like this book was a little slower than book one, but I think it's because we are driving into a different league and learning a little more about Aileen.
However, this book ended strong and still left me hanging on the mysterious Aileen and the Morrow Gods! Book 3 can't come soon!
Blood of the Gods by S. Englard, published by Montlake is the second installment in the Cloak of Vampire books.
This is not a stand alone, I recommend to read the books in order.
The previous book is Cloak of the Vampire, the introduction to story and characters.
This second book picks up where book one was left off. Intriguing, pageturning, suspenseful.
Blurb: Aileen Henderson’s life conceals a dark past. Outside of work, she hides behind her larger best friend, Cassidy, whose constant need for attention suits Aileen just fine.
Until the night Aileen dies.
Awakening to a new world, Aileen plots revenge against Ragnor Rayne, the being who cursed her, turned her into a vampire. The man whose eyes haunt her dreams.
She is going to make this vampire Lord regret the day he kissed her with the curse of immortality and made her his. If she can survive the Auction, and resist temptations of the flesh.
The story ends in a cliffie and continues in the next installment.
Loved reading the mesmerizing and riveting second story in the Cloak of the Vampire series. When Lord Ragnor Rayne does not purchase Aileen at the auction, Aileen is devastated and has to make the most of it with a broken heart under another vampire lord. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read captivating story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Sapir A. Englard!
