Small town cowboy romance! I enjoyed the book, but the characters are what kept me reading. I was so invested in their story. I like it when I form an opinion about the characters and make them real to me. The banter between Wade and Ivy, added to the fun. Ivy is sassy and confident, while Wade is grumpy and stubborn. Together, perfect.

There are more characters in Silver Pines to meet, and I am looking forward to meeting them all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone | Penguin for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

At this point I’m pretty sure Paisley could write the days of the week and she’d turn it into a spicy, plot driven, five star read!!! She simply doesn’t miss!! My expectations starting this book were super high, both HTR and Wolf.e have been five star reads for me and two of my favourite books this year so I was hoping for the same! And boy did she deliver. I was hooked from the prologue and barely came up for air until it was finished. She once again delivered everything I want in a small town romance, strong friendship groups, supportive families, amazing side characters ( I loved being back in world where Papa Dean exists 😂) the BEST sass and banter, chemistry which literally oozes off the pages and of course, the spice!
Wade Ashby, Sir! You are one dark horse! The mouth on this man will have you wanting to take a bath in holy water, absolute filth and I am a fan!!!
I also need to mention the breadcrumbs we get between Cole and Ginger 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Man the tension between these two is off the chart and I’m already sooo excited for their book

Having read the first book in the Silver Pines Ranch series, Holding the Reins, Wade was the character I was most invested in - sorry Nash, Cece and every other homie in this universe, but I do love me a big, grumpy man.

So I was VERY happy to receive this ARC and see it was about my fave.

This book was honestly such a time. Wade and Ivy’s interactions, their energy and just the journey of this story was great✨

The spice was spicing, the plot was most definitely plotting and I’m truly invested in this lil world.

Very excited for the next one 👀 Cole’s time mayhaps?

Paisley thank you for writing such a great book, Penguin and NetGalley thank you for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Training the Heart by Paisley Hope is a heartfelt, steamy romance set on a small-town ranch. Wade, a grumpy cowboy, and Ivy, a determined horse trainer, make for an irresistible opposites-attract story.
Their chemistry is undeniable, and as they navigate their emotional baggage, Wade's tough exterior begins to crumble, making way for a deeply passionate connection.
The book handles tropes like grumpy x sunshine and forced proximity really well. Ivy is strong and resilient despite her past, and Wade’s gradual softening is both sweet and satisfying.
The romance blends emotional depth with sizzling moments, and the boss-employee dynamic works surprisingly well here. Ivy’s journey, including dealing with her manipulative ex, is handled perfectly, especially the protective side of Wade.
I have read book 1 a few months ago but I can only say that this one was much better and you se easily see the difference in writing and storytelling.
Training the Heart delivers the right balance of emotion, romance, and drama.
Very grateful to the publisher for my copy, opinions are my own.

My first proper cowboy romance read and when I say romance I MEAN romance. Don’t let the cover deceive you because this book was full on spicy!!!

I loved the chemistry between Ivy and Wade throughout this book, wade being grumpy yet soft but also underneath it all he’s a dark horse and Ivy being sassy but down to earth and so sweet and incredibly friendly.

For me I enjoyed learning the intricate details about the characters and there backgrounds. There was a consistent flow to the story and the role each character played.

Do check trigger warnings as this book does involve some heavier topic’s throughout.

I recommend to anyone that loves a cowboy romance with a LOT of SPICE 🤠

Tropes:
Grumpy x sunshine
Small town
Forced proximity
Workplace romance

Thank you to the Publishers, NetGalley and Paisley Hope for sending me an ARC for an honest review.

The second book in the Silver Pines series is a captivating romance filled with emotional depth and steamy chemistry, effortlessly following on from the first book—Holding the Reins. Ivy, recovering from heartbreak, and Wade, a brooding cowboy with strict boundaries, form an intense connection that soon challenges Wade’s rules. Despite his usual no-fraternization policy with employees, Wade insists on playing nursemaid when new horse trainer Ivy sprains her ankle, setting the tone for his gradual unravelling around her. This moment not only surprises them both but also signals the undeniable chemistry simmering beneath the surface. The chemistry between them is nothing short of sizzling.

The intensely steamy moments are perfectly timed, enhancing their emotional journey. Both characters experience personal growth—Wade learns to let his guard down, allowing others to get close, while Ivy regains her confidence. Their romance is heartfelt and passionate, blending vulnerability with sizzling desire.

This is the perfect read for anyone currently loving their cowboy era. I can't wait for Book 3!

5 sexy stars for Wade + Ivy! Paisley absolutely outdid herself with the second installment in the Silver Pines series. Paisley's writing continues to evolve and grow with this story in a beautiful way. Wade + Ivy together were hot, hot, HOT but what I loved most was the way Paisley balanced the unhinged chemistry between these two alongside their personal growth. But Wade and Ivy had demons to overcome and wounds to heal and it was beautiful to watch unfold. Per usual Paisley delivered with fun and special details like Wade's exceptional cooking skills, love of being nude, and his love of Ivy's scrunchies. Seriously, I'll never look at one the same way again. Ivy in turn had great depth with her own journey of growth, incredible horsemanship, and drive to succeed. Their shared love of showers, action movies, and ice cream was so sweet. There is a lot more of the supporting cast in this installment and I have zero complaints because as usual the whole Silver Pines gang had me CRACKING UP from Papa Dean's one liners to the boys group chat. Also, Paisley writes some of my favorite epilogues and this one did not disappoint.

Hat's off to you Paisley for this sweet and tender story that will surely leave all of us reaching for some ice cream or fan to cool off from Wade + Ivy's antics.

I liked that there was also the storyline of ivy’s mum and wades family involved as well and also how it links so well to book 1, the spice was perfect and really great! Overall a 5 star rating from me I read this one super quickly and really recommend for all the cowboy romance lovers!!

WHY??

Why is Paisley's writing immaculate? Why are her books so spicy that my hands are burnt from holding my kindle? WHY DOES SHE STOP WRITING??

I LOVE WADE. Wade is DADDY, and I need exactly 561651681651 more pages of him until I will be fully satisfied.

And Ivy. IVY, that sweet spicy little firecracker. I love her with my whole heart. SO big. UGH. We should all be so lucky to have someone out there, writing our own love story like Paisley wrote Wade & Ivy's.

Also? The side characters? CHEFS KISS. Papa Dean? Hi, comedic relief. How are you? Mama Jo? Everyone needs a mama Jo in their life. And all the girls. Haden...oooooh, Paisley, pair that saucy man up with someone, pleeeeeeease.

Okay, I could yap about this book and these characters until the end of the world, but I'll it short...heheheh :)

Okay I really loved this. I adored the first one too, but as soon as I started this one I knew I'd like it more. The writing felt slightly more rounded and flowed better for me personally, I could NOT put this down. Wade is chefs kiss. I need the next one yesterday, I'm so obsessed. I'm hoping the next one is about who I think, fingers crossed!

I love Ivy and Wade and I will shout it to everyone who will listen! I have been so intrigued with Wade since Holding The Reins that I was SOOO excited to get my hands on this book. Wade is SUCH a grump and Ivy is your sunshine horse trainer. The chemistry and banter between them is off the charts. I was giddy and swooning throughout the book and I never wanted it to end. I

YALL THE TATTOO HAD ME FANNING MYSELF. He is such a hot man. I cannot get enough of him.

I loved seeing the Not Angels really welcome Ivy into their group with open arms. The girls fell in love with Ivy just as much as Wade did. THIS MAN FELL HARD.

If paisley writes it I will read and devour EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I. LOVED. IT.

Like the first book, I absolutely ate this up. I will follow Paisley anywhere and I am so grateful I got the chance to receive an arc of book 2 in this wonderful series as well.

Paisley's world building, loveable character, character development, spice and her ability to create absolutely banging MMC's is off the chart!

I would and will recommend this to anyone who will listen because yet again, perfection

If you like spice this is the book for you. Waay too graphic in the sex department for me, but I loved the rest of the story. Especially Ivy overcoming her past, I really connected with that.

I really enjoyed book one so was 100% looking forward to reading about Wade and Ivy and it didn’t disappoint. I loved this book so much it just gives all the best feelings and the chemistry between the two main characters was so so good!

I love paisley’s writing and especially the way she writes her characters. Ivy is one the best fmcs I’ve read in a while she’s resilient and tough especially after everything she’s been through and Wade is completely taken with her from the get go and completely falls so hard for her and I loved the way these two were together. I can’t wait to read the next book, highly recommend for anyone who loves small town romance with all the spice!

Wade is an amazing human being and I loved his spark with Ivy so much! Their story was very fun to read, and I can't wait to read more about the other Ashby siblings!

4.5!

If Paisley writes it, I will absolutely read it. I am SO HAPPY to have been back with the Ashbys in the Silver Pines series.

Wade Ashby, the oldest brother, was back running the ranch that was his father’s legacy; after his death, and while going through a divorce from his wife. When Wade’s top trainer went on maternity leave, Ivy Spencer, running from her abusive boyfriend, landed in the position.

Wade was such a grump so I could not wait for his story but man I was not prepared how his grumpiness would translate into their chemistry and THOSE scenes. This was such a great story and I was so giddy at some of the surprises thrown in.

Paisley is an amazing story teller not only with the main characters, but all the side characters (Not Angels), and is a queen at banter! I cannot wait for the next Silver Pines story!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the eARC!

✨Training the Heart✨ by Paisley Hope

Paisley Hope certainly knows how to write a man!! I already knew Wade Ashby was going to be my type of book boyfriend after reading Holding the Reins, but after Training the Heart, I’m upgrading him to book husband!

This is my third Paisley Hope book this year and I swear they just get better and better!! As a fan of a small town romance this ticked all my boxes and was by far one of the sexiest books I’ve read this year. In fact, it was filthy!

The second instalment in The Silver Pines series, Training the Heart follows Wade, owner of Silver Pines ranch, as he prepares for the famous Kentucky Derby whilst trying to resist his new horse trainer, Ivy. Whilst Wade tells his ranch workers to keep their hands to themselves, he can’t seem to follow his own advice, struggling to remain professional and keep his distance. As the two work closer together tensions reach a peak when they’re forced to share a bed one night in Nashville!

I knew this book was going to be great after the characters were introduced in Holding the Reins, and having both points of view throughout their story made all the ‘will they, won’t they’ tension that little bit hotter. I genuinely loved this book and thought about the characters and their story after I’d finished reading it. I can’t wait for more in the next instalments.

Thank you to Paisley Hope, NetGalley and Penguin Random House UK for the ARC!

🌶️ 5/5

I must admit that this is not my type of book, with swearing and very spicy scenes with a touch of S&M, however as I received this as an advance copy I felt I had to read and finish it. Saying that if you don't mind the language and love the spicy bits (and there are many who do) you will enjoy it. I did like the storyline itself, with grumpy Wade meeting his match in Ivy, both suffering from previous relationships, with Wade struggling running the ranch after the death of his father. There is also a supportive family and friends, with plenty of friendly banter between them plus, being set on a ranch, horses in the mix. As I said, although this might not have been a book for me, there are plenty of readers who will love this and I have scored it with those in mind.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
