There are plenty of books about Auschwitz and the horror that happened. Each book tells someone else's story of their survival in the death camps. This book is about Rosa and how she survived the horrors that happened there and the aftermath. Another moving story of a time that should never be forgotten.
A emotional story of courage and how a mother will go to many lengths to save and protect her child.
A well written book with much detail of the horrors of war.
the first couple of hundred pages of this book seems to be a forward to the actaill account by Rosa de Winter Levy and is slightly confusing
however it's at times a harrowing but essential read for all this interested in true life accounts
I was interested to read this book as I thought it was written by Rosa herself. While some parts are, it is also an amalgamation of interviews she gave. I wish this had been clearer in the book's blurb, although it is discussed in the introduction.
Despite this, the book remains incredibly powerful and serves as an important first-hand testimonial to the lived experiences during WW2. Rosa's voice and the compiled interviews offer a poignant and vivid recounting of history that is both personal and impactful. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in authentic accounts of wartime experiences.
