Book Review:
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
The story of Tania is an intricate, plot-driven narrative featuring five diverse characters: Adam, Jeannie, Keren, Saira, and Johnny. The book is divided into four parts and revolves around the mysterious death of Tania, a mutual friend of all the main characters. Each of them had issues with Tania, and they are hesitant to revisit their past until a dinner conversation begins to unravel long-buried secrets.
The narrative is fast-paced, eventful, and filled with suspense, gradually building up to a major reveal. The final part of the book meticulously explains the events, connecting all the dots for the readers. While some may find this a bit rushed, I personally didn't mind. The last chapter, though unexpected and unsettling, adds to the overall intrigue and leaves a lasting impression, avoiding a neatly tied-up ending.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity of listening to this advanced audible book. All opinions are my own.
The narrators on this audible book were excellent and brought the story to life with engaging voice changes slipping easily into each character. The listening time is 9 hours and 23 minutes but felt longer. The plot was slow to start and, at times, a little predictable. The listening style, for me, didn’t flow as smoothly as I would have liked.
The chapters are read alternatively by each character, Jeannie, Johnny, Adam, Keren and Saira.
They are all invited by Jeannie, the hotel manager, for a weekend at Bluebell Lodge, a remote boutique hotel
(a digital detox hotel), to celebrate the life of their friend, Tania Armstrong-Jones, who died 25 years ago. The four friends are not looking forward to the weekend but since it is all paid for by Jeannie, of course they will attend! They will have the hotel to themselves. How will the friends react to seeing each other after 25 years? On the first night, things do not go to plan and all the friends want to leave Bluebell Lodge.
This is a story about jealousy, secrets, betrayal and friendships.
I give a 3 star rating as the audible book was not for me.
I would recommend this audible book.
This was a good summer holiday listen yes some parts were unbelievable but there were enough twists to keep you interested. I did love the ending with friends like this who needs enemies The narration really worked for me
I enjoyed this quick and easy locked in thriller. It was well narrated, told from multiple POVs and timelines. The characters were well developed and each different enough to bring something unique to the story. There were some twists throughout - some pretty predictable and some surprises. I would have liked the author to bring the setting more to the front and maybe made that a character in itself and also the digital detox (which is a great idea) could have featured more prominently. Overall a good read - rounded up to a 4star due to fantastic narration.
I always love locked room mysteries, where a bunch of old school friends meet up after many a year, catch up and make merry but all is not as it seems. On the surface, it seems civil and friendly, but beneath, there’s old wounds, lies, secrets and drama. Plenty of suspense and mystery follows!
It was super engaging and the audiobook well narrated to bring the story to life. It was a great soundtrack to my jigsaw and I looked forward to the next instalment whenever I returned to it.
I was keen to see which direction the plot was going to go in and it was worth it! I was often wondering what was coming and as it set itself up, I was waiting for the big reveal. It was enjoyable and a steady mover, captivating and I liked the multiple POV’s that slowly built up the story. It’s an easy one if you love a suspenseful mystery!

The Reunion Party by Penny Batchelor, an audiobook narrated by Charlotte Worthing and Tom Allenby is a fast-paced, claustrophobic murder mystery with a great twist at the end. This book is full of misunderstandings and assumptions.
This book is presented from multiple points of view and in the present and past.
Both narrators did a great job of bringing this book to life. I could feel emotions and was easy to connect with the characters.
Tania Armstrong-Jones was different. All she wanted was to fit in but then that wasn't enough and she decided to take over by becoming wildly popular in the uni. Unfortunitelly her life was cut short and she left her 5 grieving friends behind. Twenty-five years later, they're reuniting at a digital detox hotel on the anniversary of her death. This was supposed to be time to remember and celebrate but things went terribly wrong on the first evening. Firstly because there is nothing comen between them. The only thing that kept them together was Tania. Calling quit they are heading to their room hoping for a better tomorrow... They didn't realise that this was just the first step of disaster.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bonnier UK Audio for this copy!
A gathering to mark the 25th anniversary of the death of a dear friend. Genie has planned the weekend at the digital detox retreat that she manages. Since Tanya’s death, each of the group have moved on in life, having no real contact. What could possibly go wrong?
This was fast paced from the first few pages, the story is told from the pov of each character, which added dimension and believability to the story, the plot wasn’t entirely original, but it was interesting, carefully considered and intriguing. Each person has played some small part in the story, and the truth finally comes out.
Really enjoyed this, and I’m keen to read other titles by the author. The multiple narrators (I think, they aren’t credited on the arc) have done a fantastic job of bringing the story to life.
My thanks to Bonnier U.K. audio via NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in return for an honest review.
We all regret our teenage mistakes, misunderstandings and misdemeanours and this story is crammed full of them all. An enticing listen, it makes whatever else you are doing seem far less important.
This is an easy quick listen and the narration is done very well and the multiple pov's make it engaging. I did find it a bit slow and felt like nothing really happened for 60 percent and then the last quarter was filled with action. Thank you to the publisher and to netgalley for this audio arc. I rated this 3.5 stars.
This high quality audio tells the events of a 25 year reunion of 5 University oals celebrating the tragic 25year death of Tania. The narrators do a fab job of developing the story from multiple pov. The action is fast paced and the narration makes it engaging. It was fun to hear rhe final reveal at the end. This is a quick listen for anyone who likes a good mystery but be prepared for the predicatable twist.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrators for this enjoyabke 4.5 star lusten rounded up to 5
