Another fantastic book from Phillipa Ashley. It’s the perfect book to curl up with on a cosy winter evening. It’s exactly what you would expect with romance, a beautiful setting and a dash of drama thrown in.

Love Phillipa Ashley books and this is no exception. Sophie buys a hotel in Sunnyside after she discovers her boyfriend has cheated on her. This makes her hate Christmas as that when it happened. She decides to have a no Christmas themed time at the hotel for like minded people. She meets Brody her neighbour and also the local vet

Lovely Christmas (or is it anti-Christmas) book set in the Lake District where Sophie runs a guest house. Perfect book for settling down with on a cold winter's night (or as I did on a cold night in August).

What a joyous escape this book provided! It's made me long to book a trip to the Lake District,so beautifully described as a glorious backdrop to this wonderful story. We can all empathise in some way with the escapees from traditional Christmas celebrations with all the expectations and stresses placed on having a perfect day. Sophie, who's heart was broken last Christmas by her cheating boyfriend and erstwhile best friend, is now the happy owner of a guesthouse in the stunning Lake District. As Christmas approaches,with all it's memories, she decides to host an alternative celebration to the usual turkey and tinsel. Despite the scepticism of all around her, her Spanish event is fully booked. Her disparate group of guests arrive just as the snow covers the land and they find even bigger adventures than they'd hoped for in the ensuing storms . Throw into the mix,a rugged handsome vet, some adorable pets, expertly crafted guests and a romantic storyline and you have the full package. Highly recommend this gorgeous book

Absolutely amazing book from Phillipa. Loved the setting in the Lake District, all the characters, will definitely be recommending and think I will pick it up again to curl with this winter.

Philippa Ashley book and Christmas story, it doesn’t get any better. Curl up, get a blanket and a hot chocolate and prepare to be delighted.

Sophie used to love christmas , She even had her own year round christmas shop until she found her partner with her bet friend in the stock room.
So she sold up and moved bought a guest house in the lake district.
This christmas she having an unchristmas stay for any guests that want to escape the traditional christmas.

Brody the local vet lives in the farm nextdoor and his dog likes to ecape and often ends up at Sophie's guest house.

The guest house is fully booked and everything is going well until they all get snowed in and loose power.
Brody comes to the rescue and helps her out.

Another fabulous Christmas story by Phillipa Ashley. Set in the Lake District over Christmas. You had a B and B hosting a non Christmas break for her clients but you had so much more. A handsome vet, cheating partners, lots of snow, cute animals. Just a great read. You just escape into a Lake District Christmas. Read it , ace.

Sophie used to love Christmas, she even ran an all year round Christmas shop with her fiancé until things went wrong in the worst way. She decided make a fresh start, to please herself and open a guesthouse. Sunnyside Hotel is her perfect escape set in the Cumbrian hills she relishes the change. However, she finds it difficult to celebrate Christmas so decides to offer an alternative break to people wanting a different type of break over the holidays causing consternation amongst the village. Entertaining if predictable festive story.

Reading a Christmas themed book (or not, as the case may be!) in August during some really sunny weather is always an interesting prospect and this one didn't disappoint or fail to make me wish it was December already! As always, Phillipa has written a book that covers most of the emotions and then some! I'm always left hoping we'll find out more about the other characters in new books, and, I have a feeling that a couple of them may feature in a future book!
I love Phillipa's books and this was up there with the best!

I do enjoy reading Phillipa Ashley books. This one was no different. A lovely story, well written and set in a nice location, with great characters. This was a lovely heartwarming story full of festive cheer. This is perfect for your Christmas reading material and definitely needs to be on your must buy list. Recommend

Wow Wow Wow this book was brilliant and I didn’t want it to end.
Sophie plans to get away from the festive season by advertising her B&B for people who don’t want to celebrate Christmas. However she has no idea what fate has in store.
The setting was brilliant and just sounded amazing and I could imagine myself building a snowman in the Cumbrian Countryside.
The characters were just perfect and I loved all the guests who stayed with Sophie and especially the different animals.
I’m hoping for a sequel and maybe to hear more about Brodys friend Carl as I thought he was an interesting , likeable character.
An amazing 5 star festive romantic read that I would definitely recommend this Christmas.

Fabulous festive read set in a beautiful location. The author introduces us to Sophie, who has moved to the area after finding her fiancé with her best friend and started a new guest house business. There she decides to host an unChristmas event, targeting those who would prefer to avoid the usual festivities.

A lovely story with great fun characters and lots of interwoven stories. There is a good amount of romance and a couple of contenders for the new love interest for Sophie, with one clear winner in the end.

Highly recommended.

Once again a Christmas triumph from Phillipa Ashley. Another visit to the lakes gives us opportunity to meet Sophie, running a guest house to escape a broken heart, and Brodie, a caring vet. Sophie’s intended weekend to allow guests to escape Christmas doesn’t go according to plan and Brodie and Sophie are brought together despite one seemingly insurmountable obstacle. I loved this festive read and loved Harold the dog.
