"World Tour" by Collins Kids is an absolute delight from start to finish. As someone who loves travel and adventure, this book captured my imagination and took me on a journey around the globe without ever leaving my chair.
The book follows a group of young explorers who embark on an epic adventure to visit some of the most iconic and breath taking places on Earth. Each chapter is a new destination, filled with vivid descriptions and fascinating facts that make you feel like you're right there with them. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene landscapes of the Swiss Alps, the authors have done an incredible job of bringing each location to life.
What I loved most about "World Tour" is how it combines education with entertainment. The Collins Kids have a knack for weaving in historical and cultural titbits that are both informative and engaging. It's the perfect book for young readers who are curious about the world and eager to learn more about different cultures and places.
Overall, "World Tour" is a fantastic read that I would highly recommend to anyone, young or old, who has a sense of adventure and a love for learning. It's a book that not only entertains but also inspires a deeper appreciation for the diverse and beautiful world we live in. Five stars all the way!
Lovely, high accessible way to learn more about the world. The book is well organised into sections relating to each continent. The colourful pictures and short bursts of text will make this useful in a classroom and will appeal to a wide range of readers.
A very decent junior trivia book, taking us around the world, continent by continent, looking at the landscapes, animals, cultures and a lot of other superlatives along the way, all in friendly little factoids. It's for anyone of any age who needed to consider that an anaconda can weigh as much as a vending machine, for example, or that there isn't a single bridge over the Amazon, but the colourful design and the way the map keys are on every single page with a map do kind of prove it's for junior audiences. They're served very well – a healthy four stars, if the trivial side of geography is what you're into. But boo hiss to the sound FX and speech bubbles the animals get all over the shop.
I requested this book despite it being aimed at a much younger audience, because I just love learning new facts about our wondrous world and this didn't disappoint.
Lots of amazing photos and graphics which adds so much to the format and makes it easier to digest the information. There are lots of facts you would expect but also plenty of quirky additions that made it more interesting for all ages! Each main chapter had sections on the various places within a continent including information on landmarks, animals and culture.
My geography is horrendous and I found the maps so easier to read and follow that I'm hoping I will end up remembering where certain places are. Overall, just a fantastic easy to read, jam packed book - great for children in particular.
World Tour by Collins includes sections about world countries, world landscapes, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica. Each section includes a myriad of facts about the countries and their culture. The photographs and illustrations within this book are beautiful.
World Tour is a fantastic book which all children would love to explore. I recommend World Tour for all key stage two classrooms.
This fascinating book for kids 9+ will spark wanderlust in young imaginations. Filled with a colorful array of maps, illustrations, photos, and intriguing facts about the continents, countries, landmarks, wildlife, culture, and history, it's like the world waiting to be unwrapped by adventure-hungry readers. Highly recommended!
World Tour is a reference book which contains interesting facts - the maps are accompanied by curious trivia, photos and information about the curious creatures inhabiting the locations in the maps, geographical and historical facts.
The photographs, maps and the colour palettes are lovely.
This guide book is suitable for all ages of children. The vibrant design and the engaging photos of animals make it a great introduction to geography and to instil love for our planet and animals, and the geography and landmarks-related facts are incredible for older children.
My child enjoyed the information about the animals and the landmarks the most, and I loved the beautiful photos of the nature’s miracles.
