Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for the Arc of Every last suspect by Nicola Moriaty.

So very clever!! I couldn’t work it out. Very easy to read and well paced. 5/5 stars.

This was an interesting whodunit although I'm a little disappointed at the ending my first read by her but I'll be sure to check out more

Not a single likeable character and yet I was addicted from start to finish! That’s the magic of a Nicola Moriarty book. I never came near to guessing what had happened and with the sort of epilogue I’m still figuring it all out. All in all a very clever plot but I would have liked to be rooting for at least one person….

Harriet lies dying and trying to work out who has killed her, so that she can leave a clue to help the police work out who her murderer is. First on her list is her husband Malek, who has never quite understood her desire for an 'open' marriage, or approved of her sleeping around but is too kind and loving to do anything about it. Then there is Karen, mother of her daughter, Farrah's best friend. She had suggested that she had slept with Karen's husband at an evening out only a couple of weeks previously. The third suspect, the one she didn't want to think about, is her best friend and sometime lover, Victoria, who believes that Harriet saved her from a police cell after she attacked a suitor one evening when they were students.
As each of the suspects tell their story of the events leading up to Harriet's fortieth birthday party and evening that led to her death, we find there are many things that Harriet didn't actually know,
The tension ramps up in this book as the backgrounds of the characters entwine and we see various events from different perspectives. It was an interesting guessing game trying to work out who had 'done it' and the reveal isn't quite what I expected.
The characters are a very mixed bunch. Harriet is seems particularly cold and self centred and yet both Malek and Victoria confess they see a much more loving side of her and she has not always been a confident person. Some of the school mothers come across as right bitches, and Karen barely escapes being lumped in with this group. Victoria is ruining Malek and Harriet's marriage and Malek is too weak to do anything about it. They are all flawed and vulnerable but uniquely human.
After a slow start the story begins to bite and I was keen to find out what happened to them all at the end, despite not liking them much. It was well written and the way of telling it was different and fresh.
With thanks to Penguin Random House and Netgalley for an arc copy in return for an honest review.

A very enjoyable read although at first the different perspectives threw me a little and there was no way I could work out what had happened until it was revealed.

Well paced and a clever concept.

This is a gripping story written from the unique perspective of Harriet , she is dying after being attacked but who has attacked her and why?
Harriet is trying to deduce who the perpetrator is and why would they want to harm her .
She isn’t a nice person , she’s manipulative , wants her own way and usually gets it she’s like marmite you’ll love her or hate her!
So the list of suspects could be along one !
The writing is excellent and the story kept my interest throughout .
A great read !
Highly recommended.

An interesting take on the criminal investigation novel with the dying woman investigating her own death!
Although Harriet is thoroughly unlikeable, her viewpoint on each of her main suspects only amplifying everything there is to dislike about her, the story is extremely deftly told and the twist is delicious!

I’ve read and loved a few of Nicola’s books now and this was no exception.

The book opens with a dying woman and her thoughts - who had the motive to attack and leave her for dead? Turns out more than one person had reason to kill Harriet - so who did it?

I really enjoyed piecing this story together. A great summer “whodunit” read.

The MC, Harriett, is extremely unlikeable - giving me Amy Dunne Gone Girl vibes. The story starts with her lying dying, trying to work out who could be responsible for her murder.

Through multiple POV we follow her main suspects and go over their actions from the day leading up to the murder. Following each character closely you feel like a fly on the wall watching their every move and unraveling each motive.

I found it fast paced and suspenseful. Each character POV built on the story and the twists kept me hooked.

Another great book by Nicola Moriarty that I will be recommending.

Harriett lies dying after suffering a wound to the back of the head and as she lies there she compiles a list of suspects in her mind to work out who would have done this to her. Could it have been the best friend, the school mum or the usual suspect, the husband? Will she discover the truth?

I enjoyed the premise of this book and it started strongly. The simple idea of having a section for each of the suspects to explore their story worked very well and I loved hearing each of their accounts. Each account made me consider their motives and try to work out who was the most likely to be guilty. I can say that I didn’t work it out.

The characters were very well written with some that you love to hate. I really built a picture of each and found them all interesting in their own ways. I found the constant drama with twists and turns entertaining which compelled me to carry on turning the pages. I will definitely read more by this author and recommend to those who are looking for a character based domestic thriller with plenty of puzzles and mystery to be solved. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

Every Last Suspect by Nicola Moriarty is the story of the death of Harriet and who killed her. As Harriet lies dying she lies there wondering who is responsible for her death. Is it her easy going husband who was pushed too far? Is it her best friend who she also he’s a sexual relationship with? Is it Karen, a school mum pushed too far one night?
This is a complicated story of friendships, love and obsession and death.
Highly recommended

I genuinely don't think i've ever hated a main character as much as I hated Harriet! But that made the plot all the better IMO, I was totally hooked from the beginning. The multiple POVs keep me interested without becoming confusing (something that's quite hard to do!) and I loved all the twists. This will be one Ill be recommending to friends who enjoy thrillers!

Every Last Suspect is a whirlwind of a read. The story happens over a very short period as Harriet’s husband attempts to organise a not-really-a-surprise, surprise party for her 40th Birthday. Harriet is extremely high maintenance and seemingly changes her mind as often as her knickers and her poor husband is struggling to keep up with the demands of the party of the year. Honestly, I’d have told her to crack on and organise her own party! Lol!
They are in an open marriage which seems to only suit Harriet. I really did feel sorry for her husband. I don’t understand people who get married but still want to sleep with other people. Just stay single! Or is it just me!?
Harriet isn’t the most likeable of characters and I couldn’t really understand why everyone bows down to her so much. She seems to have some kind of power over these people. Especially her best friend, and bit on the side lover, Victoria, although I can understand the hold she has over her at least. It must be awful living your life constantly watching over your shoulder and putting such trust in another person to keep your secrets.
I wasn’t quite sure where I thought this story was going to go to be honest, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. There are many other fascinating characters involved in this tale, and other little sub plots, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was a complete surprise and still kind of leaves me wondering. Such clever writing! I now need to go and add Nicola Moriarty’s other books to my TBR list as this is the first one of hers I have read and I loved it!

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin for this eCopy to review

Every Last Suspect kept me gripped from start to finish. I liked how we are introduced to the different characters' stories by Harriet (the victim) and had fun trying to work out who killed her along with Harriet. This was a different format to thrillers I have read before and managed to breath new life into the genre

Full of great characters, I really ended up not liking Harriet she was incredibly mean and manipulative to everyone. The plot is fantastic, needless to say I did not manage to guess who did it this time

Harriet is dying, we meet her as she tries to work out who killed her, however there is rather a long list

A very clever plot

Never before have I felt such hatred for a main character!

The format of this book was different and so brilliant to read. It kept me guessing the whole way through. Everyone had a different motive, I just couldn't choose which one I liked more for the crime!

I won't give any spoilers away but I was a bit surprised at the ending, if not a little disappointed. However, it does leave you wondering about things so it's still a good read!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves crime and a bit of mystery. The characters and plot were fantastic.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, author and publisher for this ARC!

An amazing an original premise which starts out with a bang and had me very confused the entire way through. Its such a breath of fresh air, the writing was well done and the multiple povs gave you little by little but still always kept you wondering. Amazing!

This is a great premise for a book - Harriet is lying in the floor with a head wound and knows that she is dying. She knows that no one knows where she is so she can’t be found. In her last moments she tries to work out what happened and who killed her. The problem is she isn’t a very nice person and there are rather a lot of suspects.
The book splits between the main suspects - her husband, her best friend and the mother of her daughter’s best friend. Harriet is done some truly awful things to all of them and soon the reader feels that she deserves what came to her. However, it’s not as simple as it sounds and, with all the best whodunnits Nicola Moriarty sprinkle clues throughout the book which all wrap up very cleverly at the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, easy to get into, great characters and a satisfying ending. Fabulous.

I really liked the concept of this book, with the view point of a dying woman trying to work out what had happened to her. She was an extremely unlikeable character and there was quite a choice of people who could want to kill her. I found the ending quite surprising and slightly disappointing in many ways.
