As Harriet Osman lies dying from a severe wound to the back of the head, she reflects on who could have done this to her and she will try and leave a clue. The most obvious suspect is Malik, her husband, as it’s always the spouse that’s first in the suspicion line. Is her gentle giant capable? Is there fire underneath? Then there’s Karen, probably the most obvious suspect. She’s the mother of Talullah, Harriet’s daughter Farrah’s friend and Harriet knows only too well what she did there. With great reluctance she has to consider her best friend Victoria and there’s a big story there. So sit back and let’s play detective as each of the suspects tells their story and it seems their thoughts on Harriet are not exactly pretty. If that’s the case, let’s pause for a sec- maybe the suspect pool is wider than Harriet thinks?

Oh my goodness, this is such fun trying to figure it out! As for Harriet, she can be truly awful, manipulate to the nth, she can switch personality as quickly as you can click your fingers as she definitely likes her own way and to be the centre of attention. She’s a Queen Bee and sometimes a malicious one

As each suspect presents their version of events and of Harriet, a fascinating domestic drama emerges with lots of ripples. All of the characters are well developed and easy to visualise and I thoroughly relish their perspectives which serve to deepen the mystery.

It’s a gripping read, it’s fast paced, there’s always something going on to attract or distract your attention. The tension and suspense builds and builds you well played ending. 👏

It’s entertaining from start to finish, I like the style it’s written in which has you enjoying playing Miss Marple as Nicola Moriarty leads me up a blind alley or two. An easy fun read - absolutely perfect for the beach.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to the publisher for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Being the first book i have had the pleasure of reading by this author i was not in the slightest bit disappointed and will 100% be adding more of her books to my Tbr,
This gripped me from the very start and i couldnt put it down. Who killed Harriet!?!? Thats the question and the twist the story takes to discover the killer left me in suspense! So many suspects in Harriets live who can it be !! No spoilers just go and read it for yourself!
Loved all the characters really got into Harriets character and her twisted path of life resulting in enemies and her demise.

A suspense page turning and highly recommended

As Harriet lies dying, she is determined to figure out who killed her. After all, there are SO MANY people who could have done it!

Because Harriet was not universally popular or loved. She made that impossible.

The book introduces its readers to each person who could be a suspect, and the concentrated focus on each individual makes it easier to deal with the fact that there are so many characters.

There are plenty of twists and the reader's interest is held throughout, even though some bits seem to meander a little. Overall, an enjoyable read, and it gets 3.5 stars.

Going into this I didnt read the synopsis. So I had no idea what to expect.
I was quickly invested. I liked how each part focuses on just one suspect instead of mixing them all at once. Giving enough background to make you think any of them could have been guilty.
By the end I was a little disappointed by the reveal. Even the very last part which left it way too open in my opinion. While I have a theory on who it was I would have liked to know for sure.

Nicola Moriarty’s previous thriller You Need To Know (2021) was memorable for getting very intense very suddenly. I’ve been waiting for her next book ever since.

Every Last Suspect is original and unusual. It opens with Harriet lying dying, trying to work out who killed her. We get chunks on each of the suspects.

It’s involved and intricate, there are plenty of characters to try and remember, though Nicola Moriarty does a great job at building the main characters and holding it all together. It’s a m*rder mystery with a lot more going on besides.

I found the plot a little indirect, and it’s harder to build up momentum with so many characters. It manages to stay on the right side of confusing, but you do need to pay attention.

Sort of a mixed recommendation, You Need To Know is still my favourite of her thrillers but Every Last Suspect definitely held my interest.

Thanks to Netgalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House
