I didn’t really piece together that this was the second book in a series, but honestly it read quite well as a stand alone. In the beginning I was thinking there was so much back story there could have been a prequel…but obviously there is! I’ll have to snag that one next because I was blown away by My Sister’s Boyfriend.

This book made for a quick read, and I had a hard time putting it down. The characters really came to life off the pages and I felt so immersed in their story. The twist was INSANE and I was absolutely floored.

Highly recommend!

This was a great story and really well written. Whilst where the plot was going was relatively obvious there was still enough shockers to leave you reeling by the end.

I had no idea that the book was a sequel, so have added My Sister's Husband to my ever growing tbr with immediate effect.

My Sister's Boyfriend was such a great read, full of suspense, shocker twists with an extra sting in the tail.

The plot is solid and had me hooked immediately. It's fast paced all the way and is told from the perspectives of the three main characters, Brooke, Noel and Lizzie.

On the whole I found the characters to be likeable, but there has to be a villain or two to keep you on your toes. Could I trust their narrations? Nope, not a chance! There were too many secrets and lies, with trust fast becoming thing of the past.

Enjoyable and entertaining.

This book was so good! I love family domestic thrillers and this one was so good! I highly recommend getting a glass of wine sitting by the fire and starting from start to finish!

This story shows the POVs of many characters. It follows along with sisters Brooke & Lizzie who are trying to find their footing with each other after finding out about betrayal and family lies. Brooke is trying to create a tighter bond with her daughter Hope, after learning the biggest secret in her life. Brooke starts dating and falling for an ex-con that was released by the name of Noel. Lizzie also works with Noel & she can’t stand him. Noel is a twin and you also get the good, the bad, & the ugly following them also. I love thrillers that includes twins so this was a cool read, I figured out the plot twist pretty early on but overall it was a good thriller. I enjoyed this authors style of writing also. Grateful for complimentary copy for my honest review.

A story about a family with secrets, each with their own. The last one revealed was the one I didn’t see coming. All in all a really fun, quick read. I didn’t realize that it’s a sequel to My Sister’s Husband. I’m reading that next!

3.5/5

I enjoyed this book but it was a little slow at times and predictable. I feel like the ending was a tad bit rushed with a few extra twists thrown in there for shock value.

The book did keep my attention and I did like reading this story.

Thank you Netgallery for the ARC.

This is such a fun and quick page turning read! I had such a blast reading this book, even though it was quite predictable in some areas. There were quite a few different POV's which took a couple chapters to really be able to identify and differentiate each character but once you get into you won't be able to put this down! I often found myself thinking how this story would make an addicting TV series.

_____
Brooke has an extremely complicated family, filled with betrayals and lies. After finding out she has a Daughter that was hidden from her, she returns home where she co-parents, and raises her daughter with her sister Lizzie. Until she meets Noel, who she immediately hits it off with, despite him coming clean about recently being released from prison.

He's a dream come true.
_____
Lizzie who works at the local prison comes across an inmate who is known as the model prisoner. Keeps his head down, polite, attends art therapy, shows remorse for his crime, and happens to be gorgeous. Yet there is something in her gut screaming at her that there is something off about him. As time passes and with him being released, she brushes off the eerie sense until one day she sees her sister with her new boyfriend.

It's him. Lizzie cannot believe that Brooke's boyfriend is Noel. The rush of panic floods her as she slowly starts to uncover his secrets, and Noel knows Lizzie is onto him.

_____
Noel did not have an easy childhood. He grew up with a twin brother, Ned. He always knew something was off with Ned when he started torturing animals at a young age, getting into trouble at school, and doing horrible things to his female classmates. But Noel always tried to protect his brother, tried to save him until a terrible accident that resulted in him being sent to prison for accidentally killing his brother.

I read this as a standalone and think that may have been to my own detriment so maybe read the 1st book 1st before starting this. That said, I loved it! The writing felt a but YA but it did imporeive theiugh the book and after a while I didn't really notice it too much. Loads of tiwts and turns but once I got my head round who's who then I was hooked! I loved that I kinda knew where it was going but was still shocked by the reveal at the end. Definitely worth a read.... just read book 1 1st

I really enjoyed My Sister’s Boyfriend, the latest psych thriller from Nicola Marsh. It was well-written and kept me turning pages to the very end.

Even though I guessed one of the more major twists, I wasn’t sure if I was right until the truth was revealed. I like that in a book – I may figure it out, but if it’s not confirmed, the story is still entertaining.

I don’t know that I can say much about the characters except it is one messed up family. Long-buried secrets have a way of taking a toll on people…. This applies equally in real life and to the family in this book.
Brooke and Lizzy have had a falling out with each other and both of them have had one with their Aunt Alice. The reasons for the tension are uncovered slowly, but the purpose is served. The family is distracted by these internal fights and never sees the true danger coming.

There were a few times that it felt repetitive (yes, we know Brooke felt betrayed, and Lizzie felt guilty). And there were some moments that dragged in the transition between the first and second thirds of the book. And it feels like Aunt Alice’s background isn’t as complete as it could be.

But again, there was enough to keep me engaged and wondering how everything would be resolved. There is poetic justice in how that finally happened.

Nicola Marsh is one of my favorite authors, and I’ll pick up any psych thriller she writes. My Sister’s Boyfriend is the latest of great reads from her.

Sisters Lizzie and Brooke have one hell of a past to dwell on, they have been through more than average and it’s hard to believe they are still standing. The book follows the sisters and also twins Ned and Noel told on now and then timelines from the pov of Lizzie, Brooke and Noel.

I would say this is more of a YA, mystery/thriller, it gave me soap opera vibes, I was disappointed to find out it is the second in a series and wish I would have known as I think reading the first book would have been better than reading this as a standalone. There are plenty of twists and reveals, some I didn’t expect, others I did. All in all it makes for a good read and I will definitely be interested in more from this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for my eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book had me from the beginning, I could not put it down. You have different families that seem dysfunctional. They don't know each other.
Brooke starts seeing someone and he happened to have spent time in prison. He accidently killed his brother. As we get to know these 2, Brooke's sister does not want them together. She doesn't trust Noel and gets bad vibes from him. Her family also is reeling from a secret that they are trying to overcome.
As we get to know Noel and his background and family, I liked him.
I did starts to see some of the twists that happened near the end,
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for ebook to review.

BOOKWORMS REVIEW:
Estranged sisters Brooke & Lizzie are back in each others lives, and Brooke has a new man. Ex con Noel, the surviving half of twins. Lizzie has a bad vibe about this guy but Brooke is blind to love. Lizzie works with ex prisoners going straight so she knows a bad egg when she sees one,and doesn't trust this guy at all. I had my suspicions about where this was taking me,and I wasn't totally off the mark. A good read. With thanks to NetGalley Bookouture and Nicola Marsh for an arc to read and review.

I didnt realise this book was part of a series and because I hadnt read the earlier book I felt I had missed out on some of the background details. Still an interesting read but it would have been better to have read the first book

My Sister’s Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh is a follow up to My Sister’s Husband (2020). In the aftermath of My Sister’s Husband, sisters Lizzie and Brooke have a strained relationship but remain civil for the sake of Hope, their daughter and niece, and their Aunt Alice. They seem to be on a path to a better relationship when Brooke brings home her new boyfriend. There is something off about Noel Harwood, something Lizzie can’t quite vocalize. However, she knows her sister’s life is in danger. Behind the handsome face and a dazzling smile, there is a sinister gleam in his eyes. She wants to protect her; but she knows her warnings would fall on deaf ears. Lizzie needs to be smart and out maneuver Noel. She doesn’t know what his end game is, but he has no idea how far Lizzie will go to protect her family. She nearly lost Brooke once. She can’t lose her now.
After reading the thrilling story of My Sister’s Husband, I was stoked to hear that Ms Marsh was writing a follow up. I started reading My Sister’s Boyfriend with great anticipation. I should have reread My Sister’s Husband as details were discussed in My Sister’s Boyfriend that had me a little confused but I quickly remembered. On a side note, if you haven’t read My Sister’s Husband, I highly recommend reading it. Not only is it an awesome story; but you will need to know the family history to follow My Sister’s Boyfriend. While it is not my experience with the drama between sisters, Lizzie and Brooke are two women with a lot of emotional baggage and past hurts to overcome. There were a few twists that I was able to predict; however, Noel’s true motive and his end game was a shocking reveal. Once the story hit high gear, it took off and would not stop. I highly recommend My Sister’s Boyfriend.

When I first started this book I was unsure on if I would even finish it. The writing was very juvenile in the beginning but I decided to keep going and I’m glad I did!!

This book became so addicting I needed to know the big secret everyone was hiding, the suspense was killing me.

Learning about Brooke and Lizzie’s life and uncovering the secrets their family had and leaning about Noel kept me hooked.

I definitely will be recommending this book to my friends.

This was definitely a suspenseful thriller. I thought I knew what was happening, then something would happen to make me change my mind. Brooke has a new boyfriend, Noel, who she’s opened herself up to after being single for a very long time. Noel works with Brooke’s sister, Lizzie and Lizzie doesn’t get good vibes from him. I see that this is the second book in a series, but I was fine to read this as a standalone book. I’d like to read the first book now though. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

My Sister's Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh is a recommended psychological thriller. It is highly recommended if you read the first book in the series, My Sister’s Husband.

Brooke has a new boyfriend, Noel. This is her first adult relationship. Brooke, who met Noel through her housekeeper, Hazel, is totally smitten with him. Her sister Lizzie, a psychologist, does not trust Noel, an ex-con. She wants to protect Brooke, who is juggling a new job while taking care of her daughter, Hope. After events from the past, the sister's are both estranged their Aunt Alice and working through their own troubled relationship for the sake of Hope.

This is a tangled web of lies, secrets, threats, deception, and twists. Each chapter in the narrative is told through the individual point-of-view of either Brooke, Lizzie, or Noel. There is a whole lot going on in the plot concerning various plot threads along with all the numerous lies and secrets that abound in this very dysfunctional family.

Since this is the second book in the Martino Bay series, I think it would be beneficial to read the first book before My Sister's Boyfriend. Alas, I didn't read My Sister’s Husband before My Sister's Boyfriend and had a struggle session untangling all the characters and plot threads that were originally established in the first book. I did figure it all out but I sincerely think I would have enjoyed the novel more if I knew the backstory and wasn't trying to figure out all the previous family drama. There were also a few twists that were predictable. Thanks to Bookouture for providing me with an advance reader's copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

The review will be published on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

I received a copy of this book for free and leave my review voluntarily.

This book was intense and fast-paced from the beginning. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, so at times, I felt a bit lost with the characters. I would recommend reading the books in order.

The twists and turns in this book were wild. I couldn’t put it down, and I could not guess anything correctly. I love the family dynamic and the protective love the sisters have.

This was a fantastic thriller filled with chaos, intensity, and many secrets. I have added the first book (My Sister’s Husband) to my TBR. I will have to give that a go to get the full effect of these characters.
