BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for Snowflakes Over The Second Chances Sweet Shop' by Hannah Lynn.
Yet another absolute stunner from this absolutely amazing author!!!! This book has fantastic descriptions that set you straight in the scenes. The cover, title and synopsis suit the storyline perfectly. It is the seventh book in Hannah's 'The Holly Berry Sweet Shop' but can be read as a standalone as can the previous six books. I would however recommend that you do read them in order as you get a bigger picture of the characters and relationships.
Well, you may have noticed I have started reading festive books regular and very early considering it is only September but it doesn't matter if you are the type who doesn't want to hear the word Christmas until the day or whether you have already started thinking about getting the decorations down because regardless of how you feel about Christmas you will absolutely LOVE this adorable story!! However be warned there are some very sensitive and heart-breaking moments. i would normally add specific warnings for the trigger but by doing so in this book may spoil the storyline so just be wary.
I fell in love with the characters and just everything in the first book I read by Hannah which was 'Sunny Days At The Second Chances Sweet Shop' and have loved each and every book that I have read in this beautiful series ever since!! I must admit I am always a bit dubious about how on Earth Hannah could make another book just as gorgeous as the previous one but she most definitely does each and every single time!! Jesus Hannah what the actual!!! I mean seriously?? I absolutely love you and love your books and love this series but by God I have lost count how many packs of tissues I have gone through in this book!! I don't think I had even got a quarter of the way through when I had gone through every single emotion on this extremely twisty rollercoaster ride of emotions!!! If you have read any books in this series please be warned that although I absolutely loved there is an absolutely tragic, heart-breaking and emotional event that made me ball my eyes out!! I only usually ever cry with books and films when it comes to an animal dying but that was not the case here and I was absolutely flooding my kindle to the point where I am shocked it still works it was so coated in tears!! However, it is not all sadness and darkness as the storyline is also filled with love, family, friendship, support and just so much more. i mean words are not enough to describe the beauty in the books in this series so I would just say do not bother reading any more and just go and grab a copy now. I can promise that you will not regret it but I also promise that you will be cursing Hannah when you understand what I have mentioned above. In this stunner, apart from certain events, what I can say is that Hannah will fly you to America where you will get to meet Evan's family who are all (except one) absolutely amazing, warm and welcoming and I absolutely adored, and when your not crying will make you smile and filled with warmth and love. Although this is the seventh book in this stunning series what I can promise you, whether you start with this book or the first book in this absolutely gorgeous series is that you will not be disappointed!! Hannah is one of those amazing, incredible and talented authors that can write book after book featuring the same characters and I will never get bored, especially as they have now come to feel like friends. The only negative thing I can say is that apart from them living on in my mind and the story coming to life when I read it is that these fantastic characters only actually live on paper as I am devastated every time I have to say Goodbye to them!! Sadly, the next book which comes out on the 1st April 2025 but is available to preorder now is the last book in this beautiful series. However, the good thing is that if you have not read the previous books that gives you plenty of time to catch up and do so before you read it!! This is one of those books that is perfect for any reading situations whether you are laying on a beach or curled up in front of a fire. I absolutely LOVED the realism of this storyline which made it so easy to picture everything that was going on which had been helped by Hannah's fantastic evocative writing skills. Grab your copy today and fall in love with The Holly Berry sweet shop series today!!!
Well done Hannah on yet another absolutely page turning although extremely emotional addition to a gorgeous series!!!
Although this is the seventh book in 'The Holly Berry Sweet Shop' series I had absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.
The characters were all an eclectic mix and each one of them were realistic and strong. I was completely invested in them all. It also makes them more realistic, believable and made me feel even more for them than I normally would. I loved meeting them all again in this book after falling in love with them in book 5 in this series after they very quickly became to feel like friends. I absolutely adore Holly who is just such a likeable, friendly and amazing woman who my heart absolutely broke for in this book. However it made me feel even more connected to her and showed how truly a beautiful person she is. There were just so many amazing characters that I loved getting to know that I could write about them all day but I don't want to bore you so I'll start to wrap it up here. Each of the characters are memorable and unique in their own ways and they are a group that I wont ever be forgetting any time soon! My heart is aching knowing that the next book will be the last one but i still look forward to reading it even though it means I will have to say my last Goodbye to these amazing characters that have become like friends! Well done Hannah on creating an absolutely beautiful selection of characters that I have loved getting to know and have fallen in love with!
Congratulations Hannah on an yet another absolutely amazing, although also extremely emotive, read that I just could not put down!!! I would absolutely love to see this series turned into movies!!! This is the exact reason you are on my favourite author list and here's to your next success 🥂
Overall an unputdownable although extremely emotional page turning book filled with family, tragedy, romance, heartbreak, friendship and so much more!!

this is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. sweet story, good characters and a beautiful setting.
So here we are book seven and The Second Chances Sweet Shop is still one of my absolute favourite series by Lynn.
We're back amidst the glorious settings of the Cotswolds to catch up with Holly, Hope and family. And we also get to go transatlantic as we take in a trip across the pond to connect with Evan and his family.
How much can you cry over a book? This was the book that broke my heart into a million tiny pieces and put my emotions through the wringer. Bulk buying of tissues is perfectly acceptable!
Snowflakes is the penultimate book in the Second Chances Sweet Shop. It's beautifully written, heartbreaking, yet still a highly enjoyable read.
Snowflakes Over the Second Chances Sweet Shop by Hannah Lynn isn’t for those who want a happy ending love story. I didn’t realize that this is also part of a series but I can say I would like to start from the beginning and read them all as I truly did enjoy this read!
Holly is a single mother to 2 year old Hope. She was to be engaged to her partner Evan and then tragedy struck. She is surrounded by many family and friends from a small town who are there for her. You also learn about her significant others family and it’s a tear jerker book entirely.
Again, it is my first book of this series so I had some questions to how Holly is such good friends with Hopes father. (If you’ve followed Holly’s story, you’re not going to be as lost in some parts as I was) BUT the whole story itself, was no confusion and it was an amazing families coming together while coping. It’s a very emotional and heartbreaking story where Holly’s life will never be the same. But it was a book that I couldn’t put down! I’ll be adding the series to my TBR list!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing this AMAZING ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own, and I do not accept money for any reviews.
This book was very good, and the writing style drew me in. However, be prepared - it's very emotional. You'll want to have tissues close by. The story is filled with heartache, love, family support, friendship, and uplifting moments. "Snowflakes Over The Second Chance Sweet Shop" is book 7 of the Holly Berry Sweet Shop Series.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone title. Although I enjoyed the book, if it's a lighthearted holiday novel you are seeking, perhaps this is not the right title for you, as it's a much more emotionally charged book than i was expecting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Having read Hannah Lynn's previous books in the series I am familiar with her writing style and enjoy her writing very much.
This book is not what I was expecting at all. No matter how much you plan life with all the best intentions it can change just like that, in the blink of an eye.
I'd advise reading the other books in the series, so you have Holly Berry's backstory. Holly is happy in life, she runs her sweetshop, has a beautiful young daughter and has a strong romantic relationship that is on the verge of engagement.
A tragedy occurs and in an instant life changes for her. The book has a lot of emotions running through it, dealing with loss and uncertainty.
After her tremendous loss she gets a lot of support from family and friends. Though the book is heartbreaking at times there are heartwarming times as well especially involving her precious daughter who though doesn't completely understand what has happened has much love wrapped around her. Beautifully and emotionally written and highly recommended.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.
Be warned, this is not a light hearted seasonal romance….
This is the seventh book of the Second Chance Sweet Shop series but can be read as a stand alone book. This is the most emotional instalment of the series as a whole. The writing is raw and painful which conveys perfectly the depth of emotion experienced by a family torn apart. I’m not ashamed to say I shed tears through most of my reading of this book but could not put it down for an instant. I’m rooting for Holly to get her happy ending! Come on book 8!
Thank you Netgalley
A heartbreaking read that will have you crying most of the story. Your heart will break for Holly and Hope. This was a nice addition to the series. Holly's friends are back to help here this trying time.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the Publisher and leaving a review by my own choice.
OMG ! I was expecting a light festive read Ito continue the series but instead got this intense beautifully written study of grief and loss and how family and friends are there for us when we really need them.. I cried loads but ended up strangely warm by the end.
Snowflakes Over The Second Chances Sweet Shop by Hannah Lynn
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

It’ll be a Christmas to remember …
Holly Berry is finally in a place where she can see her happy a beautiful daughter, who's growing ever sweeter by the day, a new home she can make her own, and – of course – her partner-in-crime, Evan.
But when tragedy strikes, Holly’s life is thrown into turmoil. And, perhaps in denial, she decides to cancel all of her Christmas plans in favour of some healing of her own.
She thinks spending time with Evan’s family will help, but it’s her own family she needs to be with right now. Luckily, they know this, and follow her out to the States to join her in her alternate holiday plans.
They say that time heals all wounds, and with her loved ones around her, can she hope for a brighter tomorrow…?
My Opinion
I would highly recommend that you read the previous books in the series before you make a start on Snowflakes Over the Second Chances Sweet Shop.
This is not your typical festive book, Hannah Lynn has written a relatively sad book - the book is still enjoyable though. Holly has a difficult time in this book, but you can see the way that her friends and family come together to help her.
I read this book in one weekend, and it is definitely one that I would recommend reading with a blanket and some tissues handy - it was difficult to put down.
Rating 4/5
I don't think I can talk to Hannah for a while. I have spent so much time crying while reading, it's no joke. From 20% I wanted to do a Joey and put the book in the freezer and never read it again. EVER AGAIN!
I think I have had a feeling what the end game will be, but this book hurts. It hurts so bad.
I love that we got to go to America and meet Evan's family. They were all so welcoming and all-inclusive, bar one, but there are reasons and I got those reasons.
It's hard to talk about this book, 1 because I don't want to spoil it and 2 because it is hard to discuss it. Hannah has got everything on point, every single emotion. She got with me with every smile and every tear...I used up my tissue box, I am talking ugly snot crying!
At the heart of the book is Hope and Holly. But Hope is just gorgeous and a proper ray of sunshine.
I love this series and I can't believe the next one is the last one. Cue more tears!!! One of my top books this year!
An emotional read. Set over a short period of time about a family coming together in grief. Explored different relationships and how blended families and friends cope.
Wow, this is not the Christmas story I was expecting.
When Evan was going to propose to Holly I was delighted for them, however, things didn't quite go to plan.
To help her heal, Holly decides to visit Evan’s family in America but not everyone is happy to see her.
I felt the book was very well written and the topics of loss, grief and heartbreak covered very sensitively. As in life, people deal with loss in many different ways.
I loved all the characters and their growth throughout the story and was delighted to be reunited with our favourites from the series.
I felt it to be an extremely emotional read which did affectme but I would still recommend it. I would suggest, though, that you have some tissues at the ready.
Thank you Rachel's Random Resources, Boldwood Books and Netgalley for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
If you are looking for a happy ever after Christmas romance this is not one. Holly thinks she is about to be engaged to the man of her dreams but he tragically dies in an accident rescuing a young boy from drowning. The story’s about family and friends coming together to support Holly in her grief. It explores family band friend relationships
I really enjoyed this story and I thought that it was a really good read overall.
The book had a well developed storyline that was strong and it was quite a moving story.
The book covers some tougher subjects like loss, coping with memories and a new family and getting the right balance and the author has covered them in a wonderful delicate way.
I found that the book was well written and I liked the character development.
It is 4.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 5 stars for Goodreads and Amazon - very highly recommended!
Holly seems to have everything she wants, a lovely home, beautiful daughter, her own business and Evan!
When tragedy strikes Hollys life is turned upside down and she cancels Christmas. She thinks that by spending time with Evan’s family will help her heal but is it her own family and friends that she should be with in these awful circumstances? Can she move on and get her life back on track?
This is a lovely story but very sad, however it is written beautifully. I had tears on several occasions.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Holly is feeling happy with how her life is at present with her daughter and Evan.
But, when something happens, Holly will need the support of her friends and family to help her through the sad times.
Even with the sad times, throughout the story her daughter was one to make her smile.
I loved the setting and the characters, who you could relate to.
I recommend this book.
After tragedy strikes Holly and her daughter Hope travel to America to be with her partner Evan"s family.
This is the latest in the Second Chances Sweetshop series, it can be read as a standalone, however I would definitely recommend starting with the earlier books first. Be warned, this is a very emotional book dealing with grief. It is very well written, but this is always a difficult subject to deal with, but life isn't always sweetness and light and this is reflected in the story, although there is also a message about the importance of friends and family. I certainly hope to hear more of Holly and Hope's story in the next book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
