This was a fun guide to dating and learning about love languages!! I know this would appeal to the target audience because I feel like these books are a rite of passage in a way. I remember having a similar one that was themed around the series W.I.T.C.H. but the spooky theming of this was brilliant and did not slip once! Not only does it promote respect and clear boundaries and approach crushes and romance with care, it also does it in such a fun and relatable way that so many are looking for at that age.
I adored the interactive elements of the quizzes and would you rathers and can definitely see myself at a younger age answering these with my friends. In all honesty I still enjoyed it now!
It stayed completely and fangtastically on theme throughout. For teen me who was and still is obsessed with vampires and all things spooky as well as being a hopeless romantic (hello Libra Sun and Scorpio Venus) I could definitely sink my fangs into this.
This was light hearted and fun, it made me chuckle along the way! I really misread the blurb though as it was not what I expected at all. This is a fun supernatural way to learn about love languages.
For anyone teens out there navigating the mysterious landscape that is love, this book provides a wonderfully fun and light-hearted guide to finding your way.
In honesty, I wasn’t expecting this book to be what it was however I enjoyed it as a read regardless. I also felt I’m slightly outside of the intended demographic yet the principles of love itself are ageless!
Love Languages of Vampires - Crimson Angel Mercy AKA The Supernatural Agony Aunt
Granted, this book definitely wasn’t what I thought it was, but I still enjoyed the premise nonetheless. Where was this book when I was younger? In love with Twilight and determined to run off with a vampire like Edward?
This book was less about the supernatural and more about finding love as a young person. But the way it is intertwined with vampires and werewolves alike made it less “Eat, Pray, Love” and more “What should Bella do?”.
It focuses so much on love languages, healthy relationships, communication and red flags to look out for in a way that appeals to the younger, still in their Twilight and The Vampire Diaries era generation. It makes reading what is effectively a self-help book that bit more exciting.
With a hint of comedy, advice about avoiding garlic dishes when out on a date, and references to famous vampire related books/movies, I feel that in my teenage years, I would have immediately picked this book up.
Although I'm a little old to truly appreciate the premise of this book, those who are younger and still debating whether they are Team Jacob or Edward would benefit from the advance of Crimson Angel Mercy!
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Children’s Group for the ARC in return for an honest review!
Soooo… I did it again. Looked at the cover and thought “ooh that looks cool, vampires…👀.” Thinking it would be a cute vampire rom com. I know that doesn’t sound like it should go in the same sentence 🤣.
However stick with me… go back to your teen dating days… where you were vampire obsessed and religiously went to the library to feed your vampire dating fantasies… ( couldn’t have just been me🫣.) This is the book you wish you had, basically vampire themed book guide to dating! It’s fun, cute and actually has some really good advice in it ( if you weren’t already happily married) regardless of whether you were dating humans or wishing they were vampires).
My favourite part though is there is little quizzes and “this or that’s” or that’s throughout. So if you have a teen that is vampire obsessed or you want to reminisce your teen vampire era this book is for you 🤣🫶
