This was delightful. It seemed to be focused on the smouldering romance developing between Azelie and Maestro. The mystery was on the periphery of that and kept my interest stoked. The new older characters were hilarious!

I found this a gripping and heart pounding read. Maestro, who we’ve come to know from previous books in the series, had a traumatic childhood so dismantling human trafficking rings is his priority in life. When he meets Azelie, his priorities begin to shift. Although she falls for him relatively fast, she has no idea that he has ulterior motives for getting close to her. There is a lot of suspense and anticipation as the story builds to its conclusion and Azelie and Maestro have a lot of issues to work through, along the way. While you probably could read this as a stand alone, it’s definitely more enjoyable when read in sequence so you understand Maestro’s back story.

I was interesting book. It was a good story to get to know more about Maestro and who he truly is and to know for the first time his main love and partner Azelie.

A enjoyed this story a lot, had the suspense going on which worked great here. The pair was great, they complemented each other.

Overall, it was a very good book and I can’t wait for the next one in the series.

The Torpedo Motorcycle Club is back again. An intense, thrilling ride with plenty of chemistry and sparks. I loved the side characters too.

In this book we follow Andrii and his bike club/colleagues/childhood trauma pals, and their quest to bring down groups that are involved with human trafficking. To do this, he needs to get close to Azelie, to find out what, if anything she knows about the guy she works for. But as expected they fall for each other and so the story unfolds.
Although I haven't read any other books within this series, there was enough of a recap/explanation that it didn't matter too much. From what I can gather, each book in this series is about a different person in the group, so although each book builds on the world it isn't vital to have read previous books.
If you're a fan of J. R. Ward I think you'll like this series, as it follows a similar format of each book being about a different person finding their other half. There are also hints at supernatural things but not really anything major, so if supernatural vibes aren't your thing I don't think you would be put off by this series.
Spicy wise, there is talk of it and a few scenes of it, but it doesn't feel like the main focus of the book. It's more the build up to it and the expectation of it.
Formatting wise, there are several instances of sentences being repeated almost in the same paragraph which got a little tiring towards the end of the book.

Plenty of excitement and sexual tension gives plenty of pace to this story.

Well worth following some of the characters in other stories of the series.

Title: Betrayal Road

Author: Christine Feehan

Rating: ★★★★

Azelie Vargas’s local coffee shop has a new regular—Andrii “Maestro” Federoff. Tall, dark, and impossibly handsome, Maestro is more than just eye candy. His striking silver eyes and bold words ignite a fire in Azelie that she can’t ignore. Despite his provocative advances, Azelie finds herself wanting to say yes to everything he proposes.

Maestro isn’t in San Francisco just for the coffee. He’s on club business, aiming to dismantle a human trafficking ring. Azelie might be a pawn in his plan, but he’s not sure if she’s an accomplice or an unwitting participant. To get the information he needs, Maestro has to get close—very close. What starts as a mission soon turns into something much more real and intense.

But as their fiery connection deepens, the truth of Maestro’s intentions threatens to tear them apart. Can they survive the betrayal, or will their hearts be left smouldering in the ashes?

Why I Loved It
1. Electrifying Chemistry: The sizzling chemistry between Azelie and Maestro is undeniable. Feehan masterfully builds the tension and passion between them, making their interactions both steamy and compelling.
2. Intriguing Characters: Azelie is strong and independent, while Maestro is the quintessential brooding bad boy with a heart. Their dynamic is captivating, and watching their relationship evolve is a real treat.
3. High-Stakes Drama: The backdrop of dismantling a human trafficking ring adds an element of danger and urgency to the story. The stakes are high, and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat.
4. Emotional Depth: Beyond the romance and action, the book delves into deeper themes of trust, betrayal, and redemption. The emotional journey of the characters adds layers of depth to the story.

"Betrayal Road" is a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with romance, suspense, and heart-stopping action. Christine Feehan delivers a story that’s as intense as it is addictive. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Torpedo Ink series or new to the world, this book is sure to leave you wanting more.
